Becoming a Volunteer at Boundless: Your Path to Serving, Moderating, and Spreading Hope Online

Have you ever felt that nudge in your heart, the one that whispers, "I want to do something meaningful"? Maybe you've wondered how you could make a real difference from wherever you are, using the gifts God gave you. At Boundless Online Church, we believe that nudge is more than just a feeling. It's an invitation.

Volunteering with Boundless isn't about checking boxes or filling slots. It's about joining a global family committed to spreading hope, encouragement, and the love of Jesus to people who may have never stepped foot in a church building. Whether you're homebound, live overseas, work odd hours, or simply want to serve in a fresh way, there's a place for you here.

Let's walk through what it means to become a Boundless volunteer, how to get started, what opportunities await, and how we celebrate and support every person who says "yes" to this beautiful calling.

Why Volunteer with Boundless?

First Assembly Memphis Greeter

At the heart of Boundless Online Church is a simple mission: to ensure that no one is ever forgotten, never alone, and always deeply loved by God. Our volunteers are the hands and feet of that mission, greeting newcomers, praying for those in crisis, moderating conversations, and helping create a safe, faith-filled space for seekers and believers from every background.

Boundless is an extension of First Assembly Memphis, led by Pastor Layne McDonald and a passionate team. We reach people who may never walk through a traditional church door, the unchurched, the homebound, the curious, and the hurting. When you volunteer, you become part of something bigger than yourself: a worldwide movement of hope.

How We Appreciate and Support Our Volunteers

Encouragement Gold Background Poster

At Boundless, we never take our volunteers for granted. You are not just filling a role, you are family. Here's how we show our gratitude:

  • Personal Thank-You Emails: Every volunteer receives heartfelt messages of appreciation from our team.

  • Encouraging Texts: Quick notes of encouragement, scripture, and celebration, right to your phone.

  • Handwritten Letters: Yes, real letters! Pastor Layne McDonald and the team regularly send handwritten notes to volunteers, thanking them for their service and reminding them how much they matter.

  • Ongoing Support: You're never alone in your role. We offer regular check-ins, group prayer, and a supportive community of fellow volunteers.

You are seen. You are valued. You are loved.

Mini Bible Study: The Joy of Serving

"Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God's grace in its various forms." : 1 Peter 4:10 (NIV)

God has uniquely gifted you for a purpose. When you serve others: especially those you may never meet face-to-face: you become a living example of His love. Volunteering isn't just about what you do; it's about who you become in the process.

Reflection Questions:

  • What gifts has God given you that could bless someone online?

  • How might serving in a digital space stretch your faith and compassion?

  • Who in your life might also be called to volunteer?
