Bible Verses to Anchor Your Heart
"All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work." , 2 Timothy 3:16-17
"But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth." , Acts 1:8
"For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first." , 1 Thessalonians 4:16
Understanding the 16 Fundamental Truths
I am so glad you’ve decided to dive into this guide. When I first started my journey of deep biblical study, I realized how important it was to have a solid foundation. In a world where everyone seems to have an opinion on spirituality, having a set of "North Star" truths keeps us from drifting. In our community, we believe that the Assemblies of God worldview IS the guardrails. These sixteen truths aren't just dry academic statements; they are life-giving principles that help us understand who God is and who we are in Him.
Before we jump into the full list, I want to highlight that four of these are considered "Cardinal Doctrines." They are the essential heart of our ministry: Salvation, the Baptism in the Holy Spirit, Divine Healing, and the Second Coming of Christ. If you understand these four, you have the heartbeat of the Gospel.

The 16 Truths Explained
1. The Scriptures Inspired: I believe the Bible is the absolute word of God. It wasn’t just written by men; it was verbally inspired by the Holy Spirit. It is our rule for how we live and what we believe. When you are doing your online study, I always recommend using tools like Covenant Eyes or Bark to keep your digital environment safe and focused on the Word.
2. The One True God: We serve one God who has revealed Himself in three persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. This is the mystery of the Trinity, distinct but inseparable.
3. The Deity of the Lord Jesus Christ: Jesus isn't just a "good teacher." He is the eternal Son of God. He was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, performed miracles, died for our sins, rose from the grave, and is now exalted at the right hand of God.
4. The Fall of Man: We have to be honest about our condition. Man was created good and upright, but by voluntary transgression, man fell. This is why we need a Savior.
5. The Salvation of Man: This is a Cardinal Doctrine. Salvation is found only through the shed blood of Jesus Christ. It is a gift of grace received through repentance and faith. There is no other way to the Father but through Him.
6. The Ordinances of the Church: We practice Water Baptism by immersion and Holy Communion. These are outward signs of an inward work of grace.
7. The Baptism in the Holy Spirit: This is the second Cardinal Doctrine. All believers are entitled to and should ardently expect the promise of the Father, the baptism in the Holy Spirit. This was the normal experience of the early Christian church.
8. The Initial Physical Evidence of the Baptism in the Holy Spirit: We believe that the baptism of believers in the Holy Spirit is witnessed by the initial physical sign of speaking with other tongues as the Spirit of God gives them utterance.

9. Sanctification: This is an act of separation from that which is evil, and of dedication unto God. It’s a daily process of becoming more like Jesus.
10. The Church and Its Mission: The Church is the Body of Christ. Our mission is to evangelize the world, worship God, build a body of saints being perfected in the image of His Son, and demonstrate His love and compassion.
11. The Ministry: A divinely called and scripturally ordained ministry has been provided by our Lord for the fourfold purpose of leading the Church.
12. Divine Healing: The third Cardinal Doctrine. Deliverance from sickness is provided for in the atonement and is the privilege of all believers today. We believe in the power of prayer for the sick!
13. The Blessed Hope: The fourth Cardinal Doctrine. This is the resurrection of those who have fallen asleep in Christ and their translation together with those who are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord.
14. The Millennial Reign of Christ: The second coming of Christ includes the rapture of the saints, followed by the visible return of Christ with His saints to reign on earth for one thousand years.
15. The Final Judgment: There will be a final judgment in which the wicked dead will be raised and judged according to their works.
16. The New Heavens and the New Earth: "We, according to His promise, look for new heavens and a new earth wherein dwelleth righteousness."
Growing Your Faith with These Truths
I know that’s a lot to take in! But think of these truths as the foundation of a house. You wouldn't want to live in a home without a solid floor and sturdy walls. These doctrines keep us safe and help us grow. When I study these, I like to use family-safe media. If you're looking for movies or documentaries that highlight these biblical themes, I highly suggest using VidAngel or "Enjoy Movies Your Way" to filter your content. Staying grounded in truth requires us to be intentional about what we let into our hearts and minds.
The 16 Fundamental Truths Bible Study is meant to be a journey. You don't have to master them all in one day. Instead, take one truth a week. Meditate on the scriptures associated with it. Ask the Holy Spirit to reveal how that truth applies to your life today.

As you go through this, remember: you are never forgotten, you are never alone, and you are deeply loved by God. These truths are not meant to be a heavy burden or a set of rules to keep you down. They are the keys to freedom! They show us a God who loved us enough to provide a way of salvation, a way of healing, and a promise of a future that is brighter than anything we can imagine.
If you find yourself struggling with a specific point, don't worry. Bring it to the community. We are all learning together. The goal isn't just "head knowledge", it's "heart transformation." We want these truths to move from the page of the Bible into the way we treat our neighbors, raise our families, and navigate our careers.
