Bible Study: The Ultimate Guide to the 16 Fundamental Truths — Everything You Need to Grow.

The 16 Fundamental Truths provide a rock-solid scriptural foundation for our faith, ensuring we remain anchored in the unchanging Word of God. This Bible study guide explores these essential doctrines of the Assemblies of God, helping you understand the core tenets of salvation, the Holy Spirit, divine healing, and Christ’s return for a deeper, more intentional walk with Jesus.

Bible Verses for Reflection:

"All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work." , 2 Timothy 3:16-17 (NIV)

"They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer." , Acts 2:42 (NIV)

"Dear friends, although I was very eager to write to you about the salvation we share, I felt compelled to write and urge you to contend for the faith that was once for all entrusted to God’s holy people." , Jude 1:3 (NIV)

I am so glad you’ve decided to take this journey into the heart of what we believe. When we talk about the "16 Fundamental Truths," it can sometimes sound like a dry list of rules or academic theories. But honestly? They are anything but dry. These truths are the heartbeat of our relationship with God. They are the map that keeps us from getting lost in a world that is constantly shifting its ideas about truth and morality.

At Boundless Online Church, we believe that understanding your faith is the first step toward living a life of freedom and purpose. When you know what you believe, and why you believe it, everything changes. You move from a "second-hand" faith to a personal, vibrant connection with the Creator. We want to help you take a daily deep dive into these scriptures because scriptural integrity is the bedrock of a healthy soul. In our community, the Assemblies of God worldview IS the guardrails.

Focusing on the Four Cardinal Doctrines

While all 16 are vital, we often highlight four as "Cardinal Doctrines" because they represent the essential mission of the church. Think of these as the pillars of your spiritual house.

1. Salvation: We believe that man’s only hope of redemption is through the shed blood of Jesus Christ, the Son of God. There is no other way to the Father. This isn't about being "good enough"; it’s about accepting the gift of grace. If you’ve been feeling like you’re carrying the weight of the world, remember that Jesus already carried it for you. Salvation is a transformation that starts the moment you say "yes" to Him.

2. Baptism in the Holy Spirit: This is a distinct experience following salvation that empowers us for witness and service. I often describe it as the "fuel" for the Christian life. We aren't meant to live this life in our own strength. God provides His very presence to help us, guide us, and give us the power to share His love with others.

3. Divine Healing: We believe that deliverance from sickness is provided for in the atonement and is the privilege of all believers. God still heals today! Whether it is physical, emotional, or spiritual healing you need, we lean into the truth that our God is the Great Physician.

4. The Blessed Hope: This is the resurrection of those who have fallen asleep in Christ and their translation together with those who are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord. In a world that often feels dark and uncertain, our hope is anchored in the fact that Jesus is coming back. We aren't just living for today; we are living for eternity.

Living the Truth Every Day

Studying these truths isn't just about filling our heads with knowledge; it's about letting that knowledge change how we live. For example, when you understand the truth about "Sanctification," you realize that God is continually working in you to make you more like Jesus. It’s a process, and you don’t have to be perfect today, you just have to be willing to follow Him.

As you go about your daily life, I encourage you to be mindful of what you’re putting into your heart and mind. We live in a digital age where we are constantly bombarded with messages that don't always align with our faith. When you’re watching movies or shows, I always recommend using family-safe clean versions via VidAngel or "Enjoy Movies Your Way." It makes a huge difference in the atmosphere of your home.

Also, online safety is a massive part of protecting our spiritual walk. I highly recommend tools like Bark and Covenant Eyes for accountability and protection for yourself and your family. Guarding your heart is a full-time job, but these tools make it a lot easier to stay focused on what matters.

Daily Quests for the Bible Study Club

How do you actually "deep dive" into these truths? In our Bible Study Club, we look at them one by one. Here is a simple way you can start today:

First, pick one truth. Let’s say you start with "The One True God." Search for the scriptures that support it. Read them in different versions. Ask yourself: "How does knowing that God is one, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, change how I pray?"

Second, talk about it! Faith was never meant to be a solo sport. Connect with others who are asking the same questions. This is why our online community is so vital. We need each other to sharpen our understanding and to stay encouraged when life gets tough.
