A Message from FA Memphis
The 16 Fundamental Truths are the non-negotiable core beliefs of the Assemblies of God, providing a scriptural roadmap for every believer to grow in faith. These truths help us understand God's nature, our need for salvation, and the life-changing power of the Holy Spirit as we walk with Christ daily.
Relevant Bible Verses:
"All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness." , 2 Timothy 3:16
"But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth." , Acts 1:8
"If you declare with your mouth, 'Jesus is Lord,' and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved." , Romans 10:9
Hey friend, I am so glad you’ve joined me today. If you’ve ever felt like you were wandering through your faith without a compass, you aren't alone. We all need a solid foundation to stand on when life gets shaky. At Boundless, we want you to know that you are never forgotten, never alone, and deeply loved by God. To help you navigate this journey, we look to the 16 Fundamental Truths. These aren't just dry doctrines; they are the heartbeat of our walk with Jesus. In a world that is constantly shifting, the Assemblies of God worldview IS the guardrails.
The Foundation:Who God Is and How He Speaks
The first three truths focus on our foundation. First, we believe the Bible is the inspired Word of God. It is our ultimate authority. When we consume media today, it’s so easy to let the world’s values seep in. That’s why I always recommend keeping your home safe with tools like Bark or Covenant Eyes, and using services like VidAngel or “Enjoy Movies Your Way” to ensure your family is watching clean, faith-aligned content. Our worldview starts with the Word.
Second, we believe in the One True God who has revealed Himself as the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Third, we recognize the Deity of the Lord Jesus Christ. He isn't just a good teacher; He is God in the flesh, born of a virgin, sinless, and resurrected. Understanding who Jesus is changes everything about how we see ourselves.

The Human Story:Fall and Redemption
Truths four through six deal with our condition and God’s solution. Man was created good, but we fell into sin (Truth 4). That fall created a gap we couldn't bridge on our own. But here is the beautiful news: Salvation is available to everyone through the shed blood of Jesus (Truth 5). It’s not about being "good enough"; it’s about accepting His grace.
We also practice two "ordinances" (Truth 6), Baptism in water and Holy Communion. These are outward signs of the inward change God has worked in us. When we go under that water, we’re telling the world that our old life is gone and we are brand new in Him. It’s a public "welcome home" to the family of God.

The Power for Living:The Holy Spirit
Truths seven, eight, and nine are where things get really exciting. We believe in the Baptism in the Holy Spirit (Truth 7), which is a distinct experience following salvation. This isn't just a "theological idea", it’s for empowerment! It gives us the "thunder" we need to witness and live for Him. We believe the initial physical evidence of this is speaking in other tongues (Truth 8).
But the Spirit doesn’t just give us power; He makes us holy. Sanctification (Truth 9) is the process of being set apart for God. It’s a daily walk where we become more like Jesus and less like our old selves. It’s not about legalism; it’s about love. As we grow, we learn to filter our lives through His truth, keeping our hearts pure in a digital age.

The Mission and Healing
Truths ten through twelve focus on what we do while we’re here. The Church has a mission (Truth 10): to seek and save the lost, to worship God, and to build up a body of believers. This mission is supported by a Divinely Called Ministry (Truth 11). God provides leaders to help guide and protect the flock.
And let’s not forget Divine Healing (Truth 12). We believe that deliverance from sickness is provided for in the atonement and is the privilege of all believers. God still moves! He still heals! Whether it’s a physical ailment or an emotional wound, we bring it to Him in prayer, trusting His goodness.

Our Future Hope:The King is Coming
Finally, truths thirteen through sixteen look forward. We have a "Blessed Hope", the Rapture (Truth 13). We believe Jesus is coming back for His Church! This is followed by the Millennial Reign of Christ (Truth 14), where He will rule on earth for a thousand years of peace.
There will be a Final Judgment (Truth 15) for those who reject Him, but for those who love Him, we look forward to the New Heavens and a New Earth (Truth 16). This is our ultimate destination. No more pain, no more tears, just eternal fellowship with our Creator. Knowing how the story ends gives us the courage to live well today.
A Prayer for Your Walk
Lord, I thank You for my friend reading this right now. I pray that these truths would move from their head to their heart. Strengthen their foundation, fill them with Your Spirit, and give them a clear vision of the hope we have in Jesus. Let them feel Your presence today and know that they are deeply loved. Amen.
