Welcome to Day 28 of our Boundless Daily series. We are so glad you’ve decided to spend a few minutes with us today. Whether you are catching this on a quick break during a double shift, reading it while sitting in a hospital waiting room, or starting your morning in a place where following Jesus isn't always easy, you are part of this family.
At Boundless Online Church, we help people meet Jesus and grow in faith online. Today, we’re looking toward the horizon. We’re talking about eternity.
It sounds like a big, heavy word, doesn't it? "Eternity." Sometimes it feels like something only poets or philosophers talk about. But for those of us following Jesus, eternity isn't just a concept. It’s a lens. It’s the way we see the world when everything feels like it’s falling apart.
When we talk about living in the light of eternity, we aren't talking about ignoring the present. We’re talking about letting the "forever" change the "right now."
The View from the Horizon
Have you ever been driving toward a beautiful sunset? The road might be bumpy, and your car might need an oil change, but your eyes are fixed on that glowing light ahead. That’s what eternity does for the believer.
The Bible tells us in 2 Corinthians 4:18 to fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. Because what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.
Think about your current "to-do" list. Think about the stress of the bills or the frustration of a project at work. Those things are "seen." They are very real, and they demand our attention. But they aren't the whole story.
Living in the light of eternity means realizing that the story doesn't end with our current struggle.

Our Blessed Hope
In the Assemblies of God, we hold to 16 Fundamental Truths. These aren't just rules; they are the bedrock of what we believe. One of these truths is what we call "The Blessed Hope."
This is the belief in the resurrection of those who have fallen asleep in Christ and their translation together with those who are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord. In simpler terms? Jesus is coming back.
This isn't just a nice thought for a Sunday morning. It’s a game-changer for a Tuesday afternoon. If we know that Jesus is returning and that we have a future with Him that lasts forever, it changes the weight of our current burdens.
If you are a caregiver feeling burnt out, or if you are working the late shift and feeling isolated from the rest of the world, remember this: your current season is not your final destination. We are citizens of a different kingdom.
You can dive deeper into these core beliefs by checking out our post on the 16 fundamental truths of the Assemblies of God.
Perspective for the Tired and Weary
We know that many of you reading this are in the "thick of it." Maybe you’re a parent trying to juggle three kids and a job, or maybe you’re someone dealing with a chronic illness that makes every day a battle.
When life is hard, "eternity" can feel like a long way off. But living in its light means bringing the peace of the future into the chaos of today.
Imagine you’re watching a movie, and the main character is in a terrible situation. They’re trapped, they’re lost, and everything looks hopeless. But because you’ve seen the movie before, you know they make it out. You know there’s a happy ending.
Knowing the ending doesn't make the scary parts of the movie disappear, but it takes away the power of the fear.
When we live with an eternal perspective, we can say, "This is hard, but it’s not the end." We can find a "calm power" in the middle of the storm because we know who holds the future.

Investing in What Lasts
If we are living for eternity, it should change how we spend our time and energy today.
Most of what we do in a day will eventually fade away. The emails we send, the floors we scrub, the cars we drive, those are all temporary. But there are two things that last forever: the Word of God and the souls of people.
When we invest in our relationship with God and when we invest in other people, we are doing "eternal work."
Are you looking for ways to connect with others who want to grow in their faith? We’d love for you to join one of our online groups. It’s a great way to find community, no matter where you are or what your schedule looks like.
The New Heavens and the New Earth
Another one of our Fundamental Truths is the promise of "The New Heavens and the New Earth."
We look forward to perfect righteousness where God dwells with His people forever. No more pain. No more sorrow. No more night shifts or hospice wards or broken hearts.
This isn't wishful thinking. It’s a promise from the One who created the universe.
For our friends in persecuted areas or those who feel silenced, this is your reality. A day is coming when every knee will bow and every tongue will confess that Jesus is Lord. The light of that day is so bright that it can shine even into the darkest corners of our current world.

How to Live "Eternal" Today
So, how do we actually do this? How do we live in the light of eternity while we’re stuck in traffic or doing laundry?
Start with Prayer: Before you even get out of bed, remind yourself that today is a small part of a much bigger story. Ask God to help you see people through His eyes.
Speak Life: Since people are eternal, how we talk to them matters. A kind word to a coworker or a prayer for a stranger isn't just a "nice gesture." It’s an investment in eternity.
Stay Grounded in the Word: The Bible is our map for the long haul. If you’re a busy parent, check out our daily parent devotionals to keep your heart centered throughout the day.
Worship Whenever You Can: You don't have to be in a building to worship. You can join us for Sunday live worship online, or just lift your heart to God right where you are. Worship shifts our focus from our problems to His greatness.
You Are Not Alone
Living for eternity can sometimes feel lonely, especially if the people around you are only focused on the here and now. But you aren't doing this by yourself.
Boundless Online Church is a community of people all over the world who are looking toward the same horizon. We are laborers together, shift workers together, and seekers together.
If you’re feeling overwhelmed or just need someone to stand with you in faith, please reach out. We have a prayer wall where you can post requests, or you can use the text line below.
Looking Ahead
As we finish Day 28, take a deep breath.
Whatever you are facing today, it is not the end of your story. You are loved by an eternal God who has prepared a place for you. He is with you in the mundane, the messy, and the monumental moments of life.
Keep your eyes on the light. The best is yet to come.
