Boundless Daily: Making Disciples

Do you ever feel like "making disciples" is a job meant only for people with theological degrees or those who have every verse in the Bible memorized?
It’s a common hurdle. We hear the Great Commission: the command Jesus gave us to go and make disciples of all nations: and we think, “That sounds important, but I’m just a regular person. I wouldn’t even know where to start.”
At Boundless Online Church, we want to strip away the complexity. Making disciples isn’t about winning an argument or being a perfect scholar. It’s about sharing the hope you’ve found in Jesus with the people around you. It’s about one life touching another.
Whether you are a shift worker finishing a late-night rotation, a caregiver at home, or someone seeking truth in a place where faith is hard to find, you are called and equipped to share the Gospel. Let's talk about how to keep it simple.
What Does It Actually Mean to Make a Disciple?
In the simplest terms, a disciple is a follower. Making a disciple means helping someone else take their next step toward Jesus.
According to the Assemblies of God 16 Fundamental Truths, we believe that the salvation of mankind is through the shed blood of Jesus Christ, the Son of God. When we make disciples, we are essentially pointing people toward that reality. We aren't the ones doing the saving: Jesus already did that. We are just the messengers.
The beauty of the Gospel is its simplicity. You don't need a complex strategy. You just need a willing heart and a story to tell.

Start with Your Own Story
The most powerful tool you have for sharing your faith is your own testimony. People can argue with your theology, but they can’t argue with your experience.
When you’re talking to a friend, a coworker, or even a stranger online, think about these three things:
What was my life like before I met Jesus?
How did I encounter Him?
How has my life changed since then?
You don't need to exaggerate or use "churchy" language. If Jesus gave you peace during a hard season, say that. If He helped you break an addiction, share that. If He simply gave you a sense of purpose you never had before, that is a miracle worth mentioning.
The Power of the Holy Spirit
One of our core beliefs is the Baptism in the Holy Spirit. This isn't just a theological concept; it’s a practical empowerment for witnessing. Acts 1:8 tells us that we will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on us to be witnesses.
If you feel nervous or "not enough," remember that you aren't doing this in your own strength. The Holy Spirit is the one who convicts hearts and draws people to God. Your job is to be available. Before you start your day, ask the Spirit to give you "divine interruptions": moments where you can speak a word of encouragement or share a bit of your faith journey.
Sharing the Gospel Simply
When the conversation moves toward the Gospel, keep it focused on the essentials. You can use a simple framework based on the 16 Fundamental Truths:
God Loves Us: God created us to be in a relationship with Him.
The Problem: Our sin (the things we do wrong) separates us from God. We can't fix this on our own.
The Solution: Jesus died on the cross and rose again to pay the price for our sins. He is the only way back to God.
The Response: If we repent (turn away from our old way of living) and believe in Jesus, we are saved and given eternal life.

Making it a Daily Habit
Discipleship isn't a one-time event; it's a lifestyle. This is why we focus on "Boundless Daily." It’s about the small, consistent actions we take every day to grow closer to God and bring others along with us.
For those of us living in a digital-first world, your "mission field" might be a Discord server, a Facebook group, or a comments section. For others, it’s the breakroom at 3:00 AM or the hospice bedside.
Here are a few ways to live out discipleship daily:
Pray for the Lost: Keep a list of people in your life who don't know Jesus. Pray for them by name every day.
Be a Listener: Often, people need to be heard before they are ready to hear the Gospel. Ask questions. Show genuine interest in their lives.
Invite Them In: You don't have to have all the answers. Invite people to join you for a service online or to listen to a podcast like God's Balancing Act where real-life faith is discussed.
Overcoming the Fear of Rejection
One of the biggest reasons we hesitate to share our faith is the fear of what people will think. What if they laugh? What if they ask a question I can't answer?
Here’s the truth: some people will reject the message. Jesus told us that would happen. But their rejection isn't of you; it’s of the message. Your responsibility is to plant the seed. God is the one who makes it grow.
If someone asks a question you don't know the answer to, it’s okay to say, “That’s a great question. I’m not sure, but let’s find out together.” This actually makes you more relatable. It shows that you are a fellow traveler on the journey of faith, not a "know-it-all."

A Global Community of Disciples
At Boundless Online Church, we are passionate about reaching people who can't make it to a traditional church building. We think of the shift workers, the disabled, those in persecuted regions, and those who have felt excluded from church in the past.
Our mission is simple: We help people meet Jesus and grow in faith online.
You are part of this mission. Every time you share a link to a podcast, every time you offer to pray for someone, and every time you share how Jesus changed your life, you are acting as a digital missionary.
If You Are the One Seeking Today
Maybe you’re reading this and you realize you haven’t taken that first step yourself. You’ve been watching from the sidelines, wondering if God is real or if He cares about you.
He does.
God loves you so much that He sent His Son, Jesus, to bridge the gap between you and Him. No matter what you’ve done or where you’ve been, there is grace available for you right now. Salvation is a free gift. All you have to do is reach out and accept it.
You can start that relationship today by simply talking to Him. Admit you need Him, believe that Jesus is Lord, and commit to following Him. If you’ve made that decision, we would love to hear about it and help you with your next steps. You can visit our I'm New page to find resources specifically for you.
