Boundless Daily: The Power of Your Testimony

Welcome to today’s edition of Boundless Daily. We are so glad you’re here. Whether you are catching this during a quick break on your shift, tuning in from a quiet room at home, or reading this while navigating a difficult season, know that you are welcome in this space.

Today, we are diving into a new Micro-Study focused on "Sharing Your Story." Specifically, we’re talking about the power of your testimony.

Sometimes the word "testimony" can feel a little heavy or overly "churchy." It might bring to mind images of people standing behind a pulpit telling dramatic stories of survival. But at its core, a testimony is simply your story of how God has moved in your life.

We help people meet Jesus and grow in faith online, and one of the most effective ways to do that is by sharing the real, unpolished parts of our journeys.

What Is a Testimony, Anyway?

In the simplest terms, your testimony is the account of your personal experience with Jesus. It’s the "before, during, and after" of your relationship with God.

As part of our commitment to the 16 Fundamental Truths of the Assemblies of God, we believe that salvation is received through repentance toward God and faith toward the Lord Jesus Christ. Your testimony is the story of that salvation: how you realized your need for Him and how He changed your life.

It isn’t about showing off how "holy" you’ve become. It’s about showcasing God’s goodness. It’s an opportunity to point people toward the grace that is available to everyone, no matter where they are or what they’ve done.

The Myth of the "Boring" Story

One of the biggest hurdles people face when it comes to sharing their story is the feeling that their life isn't "exciting" enough.

You might think, "I grew up in a Christian home. I never had a radical 'rock bottom' moment. My story is kind of boring."

If that’s you, let’s clear something up right now: there is no such thing as a boring testimony.

If you have been saved by grace, you have moved from death to life. That is a miracle. Whether that happened in a dramatic moment of deliverance or through a steady, quiet realization of God’s love over many years, the end result is the same: you are a new creation in Christ.

In fact, "quiet" stories are incredibly relatable. Most people aren't living in the extremes; they are living in the middle. They are looking for hope in the everyday. Your story of how God gives you peace during a stressful work week or how He helped you through a season of loneliness is exactly what someone else needs to hear.

Why Your Story Matters Globally

At Boundless Online Church, we serve a global audience. We see you: the night-shift workers, the caregivers, the seekers in areas where a physical church might not be safe or accessible.

When you share your story online, you aren't just talking to your friends. You are putting a beacon of hope into the digital world.

Your testimony has the power to:

  • Validate someone else's struggle: When you say, "I felt this way too," someone else feels less alone.

  • Provide a roadmap: Your journey can show others the steps they can take to find Jesus.

  • Glorify God: Every story of grace proves that God is still active and moving in our world today.

Crafting Your Story: Where to Start?

You don’t need a degree in theology to tell your story. You just need a willing heart. If you’re not sure how to put it into words, try answering these four foundational questions:

  1. Why do you follow Jesus? What is the core reason He is the center of your life?

  2. What led you to believe? Think back to the moments where God felt real to you.

  3. Why do you need Jesus today? This keeps your testimony current. It shows that your faith isn't just a past event, but a present relationship.

  4. How does following Him change your life? What’s different about your perspective, your peace, or your purpose?

Remember, the goal isn't to be perfect. The goal is to be honest. People aren't looking for a perfect person; they are looking for a perfect Savior. When you share your struggles alongside your victories, you make the Gospel accessible.

The Power of "Me Too"

There is a unique kind of power in the phrase "me too."

When we hide our stories, we accidentally create a barrier. We make it look like faith is only for people who have it all together. But when we open up about our doubts, our fears, and the ways God has met us in those dark places, we tear those barriers down.

We encourage you to join the conversation in our online community. Whether you want to share a snippet of your journey in our I'm New Q&A Welcome Center or participate in a deeper discussion in our Bible Study Club, your voice matters.

Moving Past the Fear

It’s normal to feel a bit nervous about sharing your story. You might worry about being judged or not having the "right" words.

But remember, the Holy Spirit is your helper. One of our core beliefs is the baptism in the Holy Spirit, which provides the believer with power for life and service. You don't have to rely on your own eloquence. You can rely on His strength to give you the words when you need them.

You aren't responsible for the outcome; you are only responsible for the sharing. God takes your story and uses it to plant seeds in the hearts of others. You might never know the full impact of your words this side of heaven, but you can trust that God never wastes a story.

Practical Next Steps

So, how can you put this into practice today?

  • Write it down: Take ten minutes to journal your answers to the four questions listed above.

  • Pray for an opportunity: Ask God to open a door for you to share a piece of your story with someone this week: whether that’s a coworker, a friend, or even someone in an online forum.

  • Keep it simple: You don’t have to tell your whole life story at once. Sometimes, just sharing how a specific verse helped you through your day is enough.

  • Connect with us: If you're looking for a safe place to practice sharing or want to hear how others are navigating their faith, check out our Sunday Night Bible Study.

Your Story Isn't Finished

The beautiful thing about a testimony is that it’s always growing. As you walk with Jesus, He continues to give you new stories of His faithfulness.

Maybe today is a day where you feel like you're in the middle of a difficult chapter. That’s okay. Even the chapters that feel messy or hard are part of the story God is writing. One day, this season will be part of the testimony you use to encourage someone else who is walking a similar path.

We are so honored to be part of your journey. No matter where you are in the world, or what your story looks like, you have a place here at Boundless Online Church.

If you have questions about how to share your story or if you're still trying to figure out what your story even is, we’d love to chat. Reach out to us through our groups or join one of our upcoming Live Worship sessions.

Your story has power because it belongs to a powerful God. Don't be afraid to let it shine.
