Waiting is hard.
Whether you are waiting for a medical report, a job offer, a spouse, or just for a difficult season of life to end, the "in-between" can feel like a desert. Most of us treat waiting like a dentist’s waiting room. We sit in a plastic chair, scroll through our phones, and hope our name gets called as quickly as possible.
But in the Kingdom of God, waiting isn't passive. It isn't just "killing time."
At Boundless Online Church, we believe that God uses these seasons to do some of His best work. When we talk about trusting God’s timing, we aren’t talking about crossing our fingers and wishing for the best. We’re talking about waiting with purpose.
Let’s dive into what that looks like in your daily life.
The Myth of the Passive Wait
We often think that if God hasn't moved yet, there’s nothing for us to do. We put our lives on "pause."
But biblically, waiting is an active verb. Think of a server in a restaurant. When they "wait" on a table, they aren't sitting in the back taking a nap. They are attentive. They are watching for a signal. They are prepared to move the moment they are needed.
That is the posture of a believer.
When we wait on the Lord, we are standing at attention. We are saying, "Lord, while I wait for the 'big' thing, what is the 'right now' thing You have for me?"

Shifting Your Perspective
If you feel like you’re stuck in a holding pattern, try shifting your perspective from "When will this end?" to "Who am I becoming?"
God is often more interested in the process than the product. He is building your character, strengthening your faith, and preparing you for the weight of the blessing that is coming.
If God gave you everything you asked for the second you asked for it, you might not have the spiritual "muscle" to carry it. Waiting is the gym where those muscles are built.
This aligns deeply with our belief in Sanctification. As one of the 16 Fundamental Truths of the Assemblies of God, sanctification is the act of separation from that which is evil, and of dedication unto God. Sometimes, the "waiting room" is the very place where God separates us from our own impatience and dedicates our hearts more fully to His will.
Practical Ways to Wait with Purpose
So, what do you actually do while you wait? Here are a few ways to stay active in your faith:
1. Serve Others Right Where You Are
It’s easy to become self-focused when we are waiting for something we need. The best way to break that cycle is to look outward. Who can you help today?
Maybe it’s volunteering in a digital space or checking in on a neighbor. When you serve, you remind your soul that your life has value right now, not just when your circumstances change. You can explore our outreach and service resources for ideas on how to get involved.
2. Dive Into the Word
Waiting is the perfect time to grow in your knowledge of God. If you’re waiting for direction, look into the Map He’s already given us.
Instead of searching for "signs," search the Scriptures. This is how we build a foundation that won't shake when the storms of life come. We encourage you to join the conversation in our Bible Study Club to stay grounded with others.
3. Practice "Prepared Readiness"
Think of a soldier. They don't wait for the battle to start before they begin training. They train so they are ready when the battle begins.
If you are waiting for a leadership role, start leading yourself well today. If you are waiting for a relationship, focus on becoming the person you want to be in that relationship.

Trusting the Creator’s Clock
We serve a God who is outside of time. He sees the beginning from the end.
One of our core truths is the sovereignty of The One True God. He isn't surprised by the delays you are facing. He isn't running late. In fact, He is exactly on time, every time.
We see this most clearly in the "Blessed Hope": the waiting for the return of Christ. As believers, we are in a collective season of waiting. But we don't just sit around; we evangelize, we love, and we grow. We live with the expectation that He is coming, and that gives our present actions meaning.
We Help People Meet Jesus and Grow in Faith Online
At Boundless Online Church, we know that the digital world can feel lonely, especially when you’re in a season of waiting. But you don't have to wait alone.
Our mission is simple: We help people meet Jesus and grow in faith online.
Whether you are a shift worker up in the middle of the night, someone living with a disability who finds it hard to get to a physical building, or a caregiver who just needs a moment of peace, we are here for you.
Our community is global. We are a space for the seeker, the tired, and the hopeful. You can find more resources on faith and discipleship to help navigate these seasons.

Are You Tired of Waiting?
We get it. Persistence is exhausting. If you find yourself losing heart, remember that God’s silence is not His absence.
He is working behind the scenes. He is moving hearts, opening doors, and aligning stars that you can't even see yet.
Don't give up on the "wait." Use it. Purpose it. Give it back to Him as an offering of trust.
