Who Was Barnabas? Acts 4:36
Before we can become a digital Barnabas, we need to understand who this remarkable man was. In Acts 4:36, we're introduced to him:
"Joseph, a Levite from Cyprus, whom the apostles called Barnabas (which means 'son of encouragement')..."
Think about that for a moment. Barnabas was so consistently uplifting that the early church literally renamed him "Son of Encouragement." His birth name was Joseph, but his character was so defined by his ability to lift others up that he earned a new identity.
Throughout the book of Acts, we see Barnabas living up to his name:
He sold his field to support the early church community (Acts 4:37)
He vouched for Paul when everyone else was afraid of the former persecutor (Acts 9:27)
He mentored young Mark when Paul had given up on him (Acts 15:39)

Your words carry weight. Proverbs 18:21 reminds us that "death and life are in the power of the tongue." In our modern context, we could add: death and life are in the power of our keyboards, our comments, and our messages.
