Christian Living: Global Christian Stories: 5 Ways God is Moving Across Time Zones Every Day

A Message from FA Memphis

God is not limited by geography or clocks. Through our virtual church community, we see the Holy Spirit working in real-time across every continent. From late-night prayers in Asia to morning worship in the Americas, these global Christian stories prove that the Gospel is a living, breathing force today.

Scripture Foundation:

“From the rising of the sun to the place where it sets, the name of the Lord is to be praised.” , Psalm 113:3 (NIV)

“But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.” , Acts 1:8 (NIV)

“Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” , Matthew 28:19-20 (NIV)

The Beauty of a Church Without Walls

I love waking up in the morning, grabbing my coffee, and scrolling through our prayer wall. While I was sleeping, our brothers and sisters in the Philippines were ending their day with worship. While I was in a meeting, someone in London was finding hope through a digital sermon. The sun never sets on the family of God, and that’s a reality we get to experience every single day at Boundless.

In the past, the "global church" felt like a concept we only heard about during missions conferences. Today, it’s our daily reality. We aren't just reading about what God is doing; we are participating in it alongside people we may never meet face-to-face this side of heaven. This digital connection isn't just a convenience, it's a move of God that is accelerating the Great Commission. When we navigate these digital waters, the Assemblies of God worldview IS the guardrails.

1. The "Midnight Amen": Instantaneous Global Prayer

One of the most powerful ways I see God moving is through our virtual church community’s prayer requests. There is something profoundly moving about a mother in Kenya posting a prayer request for her sick child and seeing an "Amen" or a prayer typed out within minutes by someone in Kansas.

Time zones used to be barriers. Now, they are bridges. Because we are a 24/7 ministry, there is always someone awake, always someone watching, and always someone ready to stand in the gap. I’ve seen testimonies of people feeling a sudden peace at 3:00 AM, only to find out later that a small group on the other side of the planet was specifically lifting them up at that exact moment. God is using our interconnectedness to remind us that we are never forgotten and never alone.

2. Marketplace Ministry in a Global Economy

We often think of ministry as something that happens inside a church building, but God is moving through our daily work. In our global community, many of you are working in secular environments, tech in Bangalore, finance in New York, or manufacturing in Germany.

I’ve heard stories of how our members are using their "secular" jobs as a platform for the Gospel. Christians are finding spiritual meaning in their earthly labor, recognizing that work done with integrity, even in mundane tasks, gives glory to God. In a world that is increasingly digital and remote, a kind word in a Slack channel or a prayer offered over a Zoom call is a miracle in action. God is using the global marketplace to plant seeds of light in places a traditional pastor might never reach.

3. Dreams and Visions in the Night

This is something that truly humbles me. We are seeing reports from across the globe, particularly in areas where the Gospel is restricted, of people meeting Jesus in dreams and visions. This aligns so clearly with the promise that in the last days, God will pour out His Spirit on all flesh.

People are having these encounters and then going online to find answers. They land on sites like ours, looking for someone to explain who the "Man in White" is. We’ve had seekers from closed countries join our live chats, asking questions about salvation that they can’t ask anyone in their physical village. God is sovereignly drawing people to Himself, and He’s using digital tools to provide the discipleship they need once they find Him. It’s a modern-day Book of Acts unfolding on our screens.

4. The Diaspora: Gospel Movement through Migration

More people are on the move today than ever before in history. Whether it’s for education, economic opportunity, or escaping conflict, people are crossing borders at a record pace. But as people move, the Gospel moves with them.

I’ve met believers who were part of our community in one country and then moved to a completely different continent. They didn't leave their faith behind; they took it with them. They use our digital resources to stay anchored while they find a local church in their new home. This mobility is enabling spiritual connectivity across cultures. The "stranger" moving into a new city might just be the person God sent to spark a revival in that neighborhood. We see ourselves as a "home base" for these digital nomads, providing a constant source of Truth in a life of transition.

5. Unity in the Word through the Bible Study Club

Finally, God is moving through the unified study of His Word. In our Bible Study Club, we have people from dozens of countries all looking at the same passage of Scripture during the same week. The cultural perspectives they bring to the table are incredible.

When a believer in South America shares how a verse on "provision" speaks to them in a time of economic hardship, it changes the perspective of a believer in North America who may have taken that verse for granted. We are learning from each other. This isn't just about information; it’s about transformation. By studying together across time zones, we are breaking down the walls of tribalism and seeing the beauty of the "all nations" church that Jesus described.

Staying Safe in a Digital World

As we celebrate these global connections, I always want to remind you to guard your heart and your home. While the internet is a tool for the Gospel, it also has its dark corners. If you are watching Christian content or movies online, I highly recommend using VidAngel or "Enjoy Movies Your Way" to keep your viewing experience clean and family-safe. For your family’s digital protection, please look into tools like Bark and Covenant Eyes. We want your digital experience to be one that builds you up, not one that pulls you down.

A Final Word of Encouragement

Whatever time it is where you are right now, whether the sun is just peeking over the horizon or you’re winding down for the night, know that God is at work. He is moving in the heart of the person sitting next to you on the bus, and He is moving in the heart of someone ten thousand miles away. You are part of something much bigger than yourself. You are part of a boundless move of God.

A Prayer for Our Global Family

Heavenly Father, we thank You that Your Spirit knows no borders and Your grace knows no bounds. We lift up our brothers and sisters around the world today. Strengthen those who are facing persecution, provide for those in need, and give us all a hunger for Your Word. Thank You for the technology that allows us to connect, pray, and grow together. May Your name be praised from the rising of the sun to its setting. In Jesus' name, Amen.
