Christian Living: Holy Momentum: Why God Isn’t Finished With Your Story

Holy momentum means God is still moving in your life even when progress feels slow. Jesus is the Author and Finisher of your faith, and He is not done writing your story. What feels delayed to you may actually be God preparing a deeper, stronger, and more hopeful next chapter.

Have you ever felt like you were running a race only to find yourself suddenly running in place? Maybe it’s a career path that stalled, a relationship that feels stagnant, or a spiritual walk that seems to have lost its fire. We’ve all been there, staring at a "Chapter Closed" sign when we thought there was so much more to the story. But here is a truth for you: God never leaves a sentence unfinished.

I see so many people who feel like they’ve reached their limit. But the truth is, your limit is often the exact place where God’s momentum begins. You are seen. You are loved. You are not forgotten. You are never alone.

The Question: Why Do We Feel Stuck in Our Faith?

It’s one of the most common questions I hear: "Layne, if God has a plan for my life, why does it feel like nothing is moving?" We often mistake a season of waiting for a season of abandonment. We look at the "velocity" of those around us, their promotions, their highlight reels, their apparent successes, and we feel like our own spiritual speedometer is hitting zero.

This feeling of being "stuck" usually comes from a misunderstanding of what momentum actually looks like in the Kingdom of God. We think momentum is about constant, visible, high-speed growth. But sometimes, momentum is the quiet, internal work of a seed breaking through the soil before the first leaf ever appears above the ground. If you feel like your story has stopped, it’s likely that God is just preparing the next major plot twist.

Holy Momentum Together

The Answer: God is the Author and Finisher

The answer to our "stuckness" isn't found in trying harder or running faster in our own strength. It’s found in the character of Jesus Christ. The Bible tells us in Hebrews 12:2 that He is the "author and finisher of our faith." This means He didn't just write the opening line of your salvation and then hand the pen over to you. He is actively writing the middle, the climax, and the resolution.

Philippians 1:6 gives us a promise that provides a firm foundation for our momentum: "being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus." If God started it, He is faithful to finish it. Your momentum isn't fueled by your willpower; it’s fueled by His faithfulness. When you feel like you can't take another step, remember that He is the one carrying the momentum for you.

At Boundless Online Church, we believe that connection is a key part of maintaining this forward motion. Whether you are navigating grief, anxiety, or quietly searching for meaning, engaging with Christian blog content and spiritual support can help you realize that your story is part of a much larger, beautiful narrative.

Science and Spirit

The Value: The Science of Holy Momentum

Let’s look at a truth that bridges the gap between science and the Spirit. In physics, momentum is defined by the formula **p = mv** (Momentum = Mass × Velocity). For an object to have momentum, it must have mass (substance) and it must be moving in a direction.

Spiritually speaking, your **Mass** is your foundation in the Word of God and your identity in Christ. Your **Velocity** is the direction and speed at which you are surrendering to the Holy Spirit. If you have a lot of "activity" (velocity) but no "substance" (mass in the Word), you’ll eventually burn out. If you have "substance" but no "movement" (surrender), you become stagnant. Holy momentum happens when the weight of God’s Truth meets the movement of your obedience.

The **Assemblies of God worldview IS the guardrails.** This means we recognize that the Holy Spirit is the active "Force" that provides the acceleration. You don't have to create the wind; you just have to set your sails. When we align our lives with biblical authority and Spirit-empowered living, we experience a momentum that isn't dependent on our circumstances. This is how you keep moving forward even when the path gets steep.

If you're looking for ways to build that "spiritual mass," I encourage you to visit www.boundlessonlinechurch.org. It is designed to help you ground your story in the only Truth that never changes.

God is Not Finished

Keeping the Momentum Alive

God isn’t finished with your story because His grace is inexhaustible. If there is still breath in your lungs, there is still a purpose for your life. Maybe the reason you feel stuck is because God is shifting your gears for a different kind of terrain. Don't mistake a redirection for a rejection.

Keep pressing in. Keep praying. Keep searching. The momentum is building, even if you can't feel the vibration yet. You are part of a global community of believers who are all walking this path together, and we are here to cheer you on every step of the way.
