Community & Growth : Taking the Next Step - How to Grow Your Faith Online

A Message from FA Memphis

Growing your faith isn't just something that happens within the four walls of a building on a Sunday morning. For many of us, life is fast, loud, and happens at all hours of the day and night. Whether you are working the late shift, caring for a loved one at home, or living in a place where a local church isn't easily accessible, the "next step" in your spiritual journey is closer than you think.

In fact, it’s right at your fingertips.

At Boundless Online Church, we believe that the internet is a vast mission field. It’s a place where we can meet Jesus and grow together, regardless of our zip code or our schedule. But how do you actually grow your faith online? How do you move from just watching a video to actually living out a life of discipleship?

Let’s take that next step together.

The Foundation: Scripture in the Digital Age

The first of the Assemblies of God 16 Fundamental Truths is the "Inspired Authority of the Scripture." We believe the Bible is God’s word to us. It’s our manual for life, our comfort in trouble, and our roadmap for growth.

Growing your faith online starts with getting into the Word.

In the past, you might have only opened a heavy leather book once a week. Now, you have the entire library of heaven on your smartphone. To grow, you need a plan.

We recommend starting with a consistent rhythm. Use apps like YouVersion to find a reading plan that fits your current season. Whether it’s a 5-day plan on anxiety or a year-long journey through the New Testament, the key is consistency.

Don't feel pressured to understand every single verse immediately. Growth is a process. Just like a plant needs daily water, your spirit needs daily truth. If you’re looking for a place to start, check out our Media Page for messages that break down these truths into everyday language.

Creating Your Digital "Quiet Place"

Jesus often withdrew to quiet places to pray. In our digital world, "quiet" is hard to find. Our phones are constantly buzzing with notifications, news, and noise.

To grow your faith online, you have to intentionally carve out a digital sanctuary.

  • Set a "Daily Drop" schedule: We aim for 8:00 AM daily drops for our content. Maybe that’s your time to check in, or maybe your "morning" starts at 8:00 PM because of your work shift. Find your time.

  • Silence the noise: Use "Do Not Disturb" modes to ensure your time with God isn't interrupted by an email from work or a random social media tag.

  • Use Audio: If your eyes are tired from a long day, listen to the Bible or a faith-based podcast. Faith comes by hearing, and the Word is just as powerful when it’s spoken into your ears as when it’s read on a screen.

Community: Moving From "Viewer" to "Member"

You can’t grow to your full potential in isolation. We were created for community. Hebrews 10:24-25 tells us not to give up meeting together, but to encourage one another.

Being an "online church" doesn't mean you are a spectator. It means you are part of a global family. Growth happens when you start engaging with others who are on the same path.

Boundless Online Church offers several ways to jump into the conversation:

  1. Join a Discussion: Our Bible Study Club is a great place to ask questions. There are no "dumb" questions here. We are all learners.

  2. Men’s Fellowship: For the guys looking for brotherhood, our Men’s Bible Study provides a space to talk about the real challenges men face today.

  3. Newcomer Q&A: If you’re just starting out and everything feels a bit overwhelming, visit our Welcome Center. We’d love to meet you and help you navigate your first steps.

Growth happens in the "comments section" of life: where we share our struggles, our wins, and our prayers.

Practical Steps for Real Growth

Discipleship is simply the process of becoming more like Jesus. Here are a few practical ways to take the next step this week:

  • Take a Challenge: We offer structured challenges to help you focus your spiritual energy. Check out our Challenge Page to see how you can push yourself to grow in new ways.

  • Waiting with Purpose: Sometimes growth happens in the middle of the "wait." If you feel like you’re in a holding pattern in life, read our post on Waiting with Purpose.

  • Serve Virtually: You don't have to be in a building to serve. You can be a digital missionary by sharing encouraging content, praying for people in our groups, or even helping as an Online Volunteer.

The Role of the Holy Spirit

As a ministry of FA Memphis, we lean heavily on the power of the Holy Spirit. We believe that the Spirit empowers us to live holy lives and to be witnesses to the world.

Growing your faith online isn't just about "learning more facts." It's about experiencing the presence of God right where you are. Whether you’re sitting in a hospital breakroom, a truck stop, or your living room, the Holy Spirit is there.

Ask Him to guide your clicks. Ask Him to open your heart as you read Scripture. Ask Him to help you find the right community online where you can be known and supported.

A Faith That Travels With You

The beauty of growing your faith online is that it isn't tethered to a location. Your faith travels with you.

When you go through a hard time, your community is just a text away. When you have a question about what a word like "Pentecostal" means (you can read about that here), the answers are available 24/7.

We are here to help people meet Jesus and grow in faith online. That is our mission. We aren't just creating "content"; we are building a family.

What is Your Next Step?

Growth is a choice. It’s a series of small, intentional decisions that lead to a transformed life.

Maybe your next step is joining a Bible study. Maybe it’s finally reaching out for prayer. Maybe it’s simply deciding to read one chapter of the Bible every morning before you check your emails.

Whatever it is, don't wait. The journey of a thousand miles begins with a single click: or a single prayer.

We’d love to hear from you. What questions do you have about growing your faith? What are the hurdles you’re facing? Join one of our discussion groups and let’s talk about it.

You aren't alone in this. We are walking this path together, one step at a time.
