A Message from FA Memphis
We’ve all been there. You’re scrolling through your feed, looking at photos of people hanging out, and even though you’re "connected" to hundreds of followers, you feel a little bit isolated. It’s one of the great ironies of our time: we are more digitally linked than ever, yet many of us feel like we’re drifting on our own little islands.
At Boundless Online Church, we believe that "church" isn't a building you walk into, it’s a community you belong to. Whether you are a shift worker finishing a late night, a caregiver who can’t easily leave the house, or someone living in a part of the world where finding a local church is a challenge, we want you to know something: you don’t have to do life alone.
Virtual small groups are the bridge that turns a digital screen into a living room. They take the "big" feel of an online service and make it personal, intentional, and deeply real.
Why Virtual? Breaking the Barriers to Belonging
In the past, joining a small group meant finding a house nearby, driving through traffic, and hoping you made it before the snacks were gone. For a lot of people, those physical hurdles were enough to keep them from ever showing up.
Virtual small groups change the game. By moving the meeting to a digital space, we remove the geographical and scheduling barriers that keep people apart. We’re talking about real connection that meets you exactly where you are. We help people meet Jesus and grow in faith online, and often, that growth happens best in a circle of ten people rather than a crowd of hundreds.

Creating a "Brave Space" for Growth
You might wonder, Can I really be myself on a video call?
The answer is a resounding yes, but it happens through intentionality. In our small groups, we focus on creating what we call "brave spaces." These are environments where the group norms are built on grace and authenticity.
When you join one of our groups, like the I’m New Q&A Welcome Center, the goal isn't to show up with all the right answers. It’s to show up as you are. We practice "honoring the state", which just means it’s okay if you’ve had a rough day, it’s okay if you’re tired, and it’s okay if you’re just there to listen.
By setting these guidelines early on, our virtual groups become a refuge. They are places where you can share your prayer requests, ask the hard questions about the Bible, and find people who will stand with you. It’s about building a foundation of psychological safety so that spiritual growth can actually take root.
The Secret Sauce: Breakout Rooms and Personal Moments
One of the common fears about online meetings is that they can feel like a lecture. At Boundless, we keep things dynamic. We use tools like breakout rooms to make sure everyone has a voice.
Imagine starting a session with a "weather metaphor" check-in: Are you feeling like a sunny day, or is there a bit of a storm rolling in? In a smaller breakout group of three or four people, those metaphors turn into real conversations. These smaller "micro-groups" allow for the kind of rapport that is hard to find in a larger setting.
We also believe in having a bit of fun. Community isn't just about serious study; it's about life. From sharing themed weeks to quick online games that break the ice, we make sure that our digital gatherings feel like a hang-out, not a chore. This casual atmosphere is a bridge to deeper spiritual relationships. When you’ve laughed with someone over a screen, it’s much easier to pray with them when things get heavy.

Grounded in Truth: The Assemblies of God Perspective
While our methods are modern, our foundation is ancient and unshakeable. Every small group at Boundless Online Church is rooted in the 16 Fundamental Truths of the Assemblies of God.
We believe in the Bible as the authoritative Word of God, and we believe that the Holy Spirit is active and moving today, even through your Wi-Fi connection. When we gather in a Bible Study Club, we aren't just sharing opinions; we are seeking the truth of Scripture together.
We believe that Jesus Christ provides salvation to all who believe, and that His mission is global. That’s why our groups aren't restricted by borders. You might find yourself in a prayer group with someone from Memphis, someone from London, and someone from a rural village in South America. This global diversity reflects the heart of God for the whole world. It reminds us that the Body of Christ is massive, yet intimately connected by the same Spirit.
Life Beyond the Screen
A virtual small group doesn't end when you click "Leave Meeting." The bridge of connection extends throughout the week.
Our members stay connected through digital platforms, sharing quick updates, encouragement, and urgent prayer needs. Whether it's a message in a private discussion group or a quick text, the community is always "on." This is especially vital for those in our Volunteers & Leaders circles who are constantly pouring into others. They need a place to be poured into, as well.
We also recognize the reality of "screen fatigue." We encourage our groups to be mindful of time and to encourage "screen-off" moments for reflection or watching a short video together. The goal isn't to stare at a monitor for hours; the goal is to use the monitor as a window into someone else’s life so we can support them.

Finding Your Place in the Circle
If you’ve been hovering on the edges of our community, wondering if there’s a place for you, let this be your invitation. There is a chair, or a digital tile, waiting for you.
Maybe you’re looking for a Bible Study for Men or you want to learn more about our World Ministries. Perhaps you just want to know what it means to belong to a church family in the digital age. Whatever your starting point, we have a group that fits your journey.
We help people meet Jesus and grow in faith online. It sounds simple because, at its heart, it is. It’s about one person reaching out to another, enabled by technology but fueled by the love of Christ.
