A Message from FA Memphis
The Mission of the Church is a vital pillar of the Assemblies of God (AG) faith, focusing on four primary goals: evangelizing the world, worshiping God, building a body of believers, and demonstrating God’s love through compassion. It defines the Church not as a physical building, but as a global, Spirit-empowered community dedicated to sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ and growing together in faith across all digital and physical borders.
Bible Verses to Carry With You
Matthew 28:19-20 (NIV) "Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age."
Acts 1:8 (NIV) "But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth."
Ephesians 4:11-13 (NIV) "So Christ himself gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the pastors and teachers, to equip his people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ."
James 1:27 (NIV) "Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world."
Understanding Our Purpose
When we talk about "The Church," it’s easy to picture a steeple, some stained glass, and rows of pews. But according to the Bible and our shared AG doctrine, the Church is so much more than a destination or an address. It is a movement. It is a family. Most importantly, it is a mission.
In the Assemblies of God, we believe that the Church has a fourfold purpose. This isn't just a list of things to do on a Sunday morning; it’s a lifestyle that follows us into our homes, our workplaces, and our digital spaces. Whether you are a shift worker checking in at 3 AM or a caregiver providing around-the-clock love to a family member, you are a vital part of this mission.

1. Reaching the World (Evangelism)
The first part of our mission is simple but massive: we are called to reach people who don't know Jesus yet. We call this evangelism. Jesus gave us the "Great Commission," telling us to go into all the world and share the Good News.
In today's age, "all the world" includes the internet. At Boundless Online Church, we believe that every click and every scroll is an opportunity to meet someone where they are. Evangelism isn't about being "preachy" or pushy; it’s about sharing the hope we’ve found.
For parents and families, this also means practicing tech safety while we share. We encourage you to be a light online, but always keep your family’s privacy and safety a priority. Use technology as a tool to connect, but guide your children on how to navigate the digital world with wisdom and grace.
2. A Heart of Worship (Exaltation)
The second purpose of the Church is to worship God. This is the act of exalting Him: putting Him at the center of everything we do. While singing songs together is a beautiful part of worship, true worship happens when we live lives that honor Him.
Worship is the "fuel" for our mission. When we focus on how big and good God is, we are naturally empowered to serve others. Even if you can't make it to a physical building because of your job or health, you can worship right where you are. Your living room or your breakroom can become a sanctuary.

3. Growing Together (Edification)
The Church is also meant to be a place where we grow. The Bible calls this "edification," which is just a fancy word for building each other up. We weren't meant to follow Jesus alone. We need mentors, friends, and a community to help us understand the Word of God and how to apply it to our lives.
This happens through teaching and fellowship. If you’re looking for a place to start, check out our Bible Study Club. It’s a space where you can ask questions and dive deeper into what it means to live out your faith in the modern world. We are all "works in progress," and the Church is the workshop where God shapes us into the image of His Son.
4. Demonstrating Love (Compassion)
Finally, the Church exists to show God’s compassion to a hurting world. This is the practical side of our faith. It’s not enough to just talk about God’s love; we have to show it.
This means looking out for the "least of these." It means supporting world ministries and local needs. It means being there for the neighbor who is going through a hard time or the stranger who needs a hand. In the AG tradition, we believe that meeting physical needs often opens the door to meeting spiritual needs. When we act with compassion, we are the hands and feet of Jesus.

Why This Matters for You
You might be wondering, "How do I fit into this?" Maybe you feel like you don't have enough "Bible knowledge" or you don't have much time to give.
The beauty of the Church’s mission is that it is powered by the Holy Spirit, not by our own perfection. Whether you are participating in a Bible Study for Men or simply sending a prayerful text to a friend, you are fulfilling the mission.
We are a global community. We are for the late-night workers, the homebound, the seekers, and the faithful. You are part of an evergreen faith: one that stays green and flourishes regardless of the season or the challenges of the world.

A Prayer for the Mission
Lord, thank You for calling us to be part of Your Church. We thank You that Your mission is bigger than any one building or any one person. Help us to be bold in sharing Your love, sincere in our worship, eager to grow in Your Word, and quick to show compassion to everyone we meet. Empower us by Your Holy Spirit to be Your witnesses to the ends of the earth, whether that’s across the world or across the street. Amen.
