FA Memphis Connection: FA Memphis Events: What's Happening at the Church Near You in the 901?

Finding your rhythm in a city as vibrant and fast-moving as Memphis can be a challenge, but you were never meant to walk the 901 alone.

Is there a place in the Memphis area where I can actually connect with a community that cares?

Yes. At First Assembly Memphis (FA Memphis), we believe life is better together. Whether you’re looking for a Sunday morning spiritual home, a Wednesday night family dinner, or specialized groups for youth, men, and women, there is a seat saved for you right here in the heart of our community.

More Than Just a Calendar: Why We Gather

In a world that feels increasingly digital and distant, physical gathering points are the anchors of our faith. For those living in Cordova, Bartlett, Arlington, or anywhere in the 901, FA Memphis serves as a hub of spiritual revival and relational health. We don't just host "events" for the sake of being busy; we create intentional environments where you can encounter the presence of God and the support of a real church family.

As an Assemblies of God-aligned community, we are rooted in the belief that the Holy Spirit moves when His people gather. This isn't just about marking a date on your phone; it's about making space for transformation.

Definition: What is Discipleship?

Discipleship is the lifelong process of following Jesus, learning His teachings, and becoming more like Him in character and action. It happens best in the context of community, where we "do life" together, supporting one another through every season.

Your Weekly Rhythm: Sundays at FA Memphis

Sundays are the heartbeat of our local community. We invite you to step out of the hustle of the Memphis work week and into a space of rest and worship.

  • 9:30 AM – Life Groups & Sunday School: This is where a large church feels like a small family. Our Life Groups are designed for every age and stage of life. It’s where you can ask questions, dive deeper into the Bible, and meet neighbors who live right down the street in the 901.

  • 10:30 AM – Worship Service: Join us for a Spirit-led worship experience and a Bible-centered message that speaks to the real-world issues you’re facing today. If you can’t make it in person to our Cordova campus, we stream live for our global family at Boundless Online Church.

  • 9:30 AM Radio Program: For those on the move or at home, catch our broadcast on KWAM 990AM or 107.9FM.

Midweek Connection: Wednesday Nights

If Sunday is the heartbeat, Wednesday is the fuel that gets us through the rest of the week. We know that mid-week stress is real, so we’ve designed Wednesday nights to be a sanctuary for the whole family.

  • 5:00 PM – 6:15 PM: Family Dinner: Forget about cooking or the drive-thru. Join us for a warm, community meal. It’s a time to relax, laugh, and connect with other families before our evening services begin.

  • 6:30 PM: Ministry Services: We offer specialized tracks for everyone:

Definition: What is a Pentecostal Church?

A Pentecostal church, like First Assembly Memphis, emphasizes the work of the Holy Spirit in the life of the believer. This includes the belief in Spirit baptism, divine healing, and the empowering of the Church to reach the world with the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Special Events and Local Outreach

Beyond our weekly schedule, FA Memphis is a cornerstone for special gatherings and city-wide outreach. From concerts and guest speakers to seasonal events like our "Egg Your Neighbor" Easter initiative and Trunk-or-Treat, we are always looking for ways to serve the 901.

We believe that every neighborhood in Memphis, from the historic streets of Cooper-Young to the growing suburbs of Arlington, is a mission field. Our outreach events are designed to meet practical needs while sharing the hope of Christ. When we serve, we aren't just "volunteering"; we are being the hands and feet of Jesus in our city.

  • Attend a Sunday Life Group (9:30 AM): The best way to build lasting friendships.

  • Join the Family Dinner (Wednesday 5:00 PM): Let us serve you a meal and introduce you to the family.

  • Sign Up for a Special Interest Group: From the "Prime Time Cruzers" for seniors to our active sports leagues, there is something for every passion.

  • Invite a Friend: Community grows when we reach out. Who in your life needs a place to belong?

Life Takeaway: Community is the Heart of Growth

You were created for connection. Scripture tells us that "as iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another" (Proverbs 27:17). We aren't meant to struggle, celebrate, or grow in isolation. By engaging in the local church, you position yourself to receive the encouragement and accountability that only a Christ-centered community can provide.

Will you take one step this week to move from the sidelines into the heart of community?

We'd love to connect with you. Visit www.boundlessonlinechurch.org to join our community from anywhere, or if you're in the Memphis area, find us at www.famemphis.org.
