FA Memphis reaches the 901 by building real connection through the Gospel of Jesus Christ, discipleship, and Spirit-empowered service. Our focus is helping people across Memphis, Cordova, Bartlett, and the surrounding 901 know they are seen, welcomed, and invited into Christ-centered community.
Memphis isn't just a city on a map; it’s a heartbeat. From the neon lights of Beale Street to the quiet neighborhoods of Cordova and Bartlett, the 901 is full of soul, history, and people who matter to God. But let's be real: Memphis also faces giants. With a poverty rate hovering around 23% and nearly 35% of our neighbors identifying as religiously unaffiliated, the mission isn't just a "nice to have", it’s a "must do."
At FA Memphis, we don’t believe in just "doing church." We believe in being the Church by helping people connect to Jesus, connect to healthy community, and connect to God’s purpose for their lives. That organization focus shapes how we serve Memphis and the surrounding 901 with Gospel-centered ministry.
How FA Memphis Connection Reaches the Unseen in the 901
The first step in any mission isn't shouting; it’s searching. In a city where over 210,000 people are spiritually "unconnected," we can't wait for them to walk through our doors. We have to go to them.
Connection means looking past the surface. It means seeing the single mom in Shelby County who is working three jobs just to keep the lights on. It means noticing the student in Arlington who feels like a ghost in their own school. Our FA Memphis connection focus involves local outreach, community care, and simply being good neighbors. We aren't just looking for "members"; we are making space for people to know they are seen by the Creator of the universe.

Why We Seek: The Memphis Reality
Need Category | Memphis Statistic | Our Mission Response |
Poverty | ~23% below poverty line | Practical aid and empowerment through community resources. |
Spiritual Connection | ~35% Unaffiliated | Relational evangelism and "front-porch" hospitality. |
Youth Population | ~24% under 18 | Strong investments in children and student ministries. |
How FA Memphis Connection Leads People to Redemption and Restoration
Once we’ve found our neighbors, the goal is simple but profound: Jesus. We don't save anyone, He does. But we provide the space, the truth, and the community where salvation can take root.
In the Assemblies of God tradition, "Save" isn't just about a one-time prayer. It’s about a total life transformation. It’s about moving from "I’m okay" to "I’m made new." This involves clear preaching of the Word and a deep reliance on the Holy Spirit.
Key Definitions for the Journey:
Sanctification: The ongoing process, following salvation, where a believer is set apart for God’s purposes and grows to become more like Jesus in character and action through the power of the Holy Spirit. Holy Spirit Baptism: An experience distinct from and following the new birth, providing the believer with power for life and service, and the enduement of gifts for the work of the ministry.

At FA Memphis, we believe the Gospel is the only thing big enough to handle the 901’s biggest problems. Whether you are dealing with addiction, family brokenness, or just a deep sense of "is this all there is?", Jesus is the answer. We invite you to explore our Mission and Vision to see how we prioritize the Gospel in everything we do.
How FA Memphis Connection Mobilizes People to Serve
A church that only gathers is a social club. A church that serves beyond itself is a movement. This part of FA Memphis connection is where purpose becomes action. We believe every person who walks into FA Memphis can be equipped to live on mission in their own zip code.
We equip our people to be "sent" into their offices, their gyms, and their local coffee shops. Whether it's through Life Groups or specialized ministries like our Recreational Sports, we are constantly looking for ways to deploy the 901's greatest resource: its people.

When we "Send," we aren't just sending people to far-off lands (though we love world missions!). We are sending them to Bartlett, Germantown, and Collierville. We are sending them to be the hands and feet of Jesus right where they live.
FA Memphis Connection: A Kingdom Blueprint for the Future
FA Memphis Connection isn't just a phrase; it reflects a biblical commitment to reach people, build community, and help them take their next step with Jesus. It’s how we pray FA Memphis remains a lighthouse in the 901. We aren't competing with other churches; we are collaborating with the King.
Whether you've lived in Memphis your whole life or you just moved to Cordova yesterday, there is a place for you in this FA Memphis Connection community. You are someone God sees, someone Jesus invites, and someone the Kingdom can use.
What is the "one step" you can take today to move from being "unseen" to being "sent"?
