FA Memphis Connection: Vehicle Guidelines: What You Need to Know Before You Park at First Assembly Memphis?

Whether you are joining us for a Sunday service in the heart of the 901 or participating in one of our vibrant community outreach events, we want your arrival to be as seamless and peaceful as the worship itself. Your safety and the care of our neighbors are our top priorities.

What are the parking and vehicle guidelines at First Assembly Memphis?

To ensure safety and hospitality, we ask all guests to use designated entrances, follow volunteer directions, and respect speed limits. For special events, specific arrival times and parking zones are assigned to keep our families safe and our campus organized.

At First Assembly Memphis, we believe that hospitality starts the moment you pull into our driveway. For those of us in Memphis, Cordova, Bartlett, and Arlington, we know that a busy parking lot can sometimes feel like a hurdle to getting where you need to be. That is why we have established clear vehicle guidelines, to turn a logistical detail into an act of stewardship and care.

When you visit us at FA Memphis, you aren’t just a "driver" in a lot; you are a member of a community. From our I’m New team to our security volunteers, we are here to make sure you feel welcomed and wanted from the second you arrive.

Sunday Morning Logistics: Your Arrival in the 901

For our regular weekly gatherings, we strive to keep things simple. If you are a first-time guest, look for the designated "Guest Parking" signs. These spots are reserved specifically for you so that you can find a seat without the stress of searching for a space.

  1. Entrance & Flow: Please enter through the main campus drives and observe the directional arrows. We keep traffic moving in a one-way flow during peak times to prevent congestion.

  2. Pedestrian Safety: Our campus is multi-generational. From toddlers running to KidsZone to our seniors heading to the sanctuary, people are everywhere. Please maintain a "walking speed" when your vehicle is in motion.

  3. Handicap & Limited Mobility: We have ample handicap-accessible parking near the main entrances. If you or a family member needs assistance from the car to the door, please flag down one of our golf cart drivers, they are there to serve you!

Let your light shine before others. - Matthew 5:16

Special Event Guidelines: Trunk or Treat and Beyond

Outreach events, like our annual Trunk or Treat, bring thousands of neighbors onto our campus. Because the safety of the children in the 901 is our absolute priority, we implement stricter vehicle protocols during these times.

  • Designated Arrival Times: For volunteers and "trunk" participants, arrival is typically windowed (e.g., 11:00 AM – 11:40 AM). This allows us to clear the driving lanes before the crowds arrive.

  • The "No-Move" Rule: For the safety of all families, once a vehicle is parked in an event zone, it must remain stationary until the event is officially closed. This prevents any risk of accidents in crowded areas.

  • Themed Zones: Our volunteers will direct you to specific "zones" based on your activity. Please follow their signals, they have a bird’s-eye view of the campus flow.

Definition: Stewardship

Stewardship is the biblical principle of managing and caring for the resources God has entrusted to us. In the context of our church campus, this includes caring for our land, our buildings, and the safety of the people who use them. It is an expression of our love for God and our neighbors (1 Peter 4:10).

Safety as a Spiritual Practice

You might wonder why a church has "vehicle guidelines." In the Assemblies of God tradition, we believe that everything we do should reflect the character of Christ. Order, peace, and safety are not just administrative goals, they are spiritual ones.

When we park respectfully, we are honoring our neighbors. When we drive slowly, we are protecting the vulnerable. When we follow volunteer directions, we are practicing humility and cooperation.

"Let all things be done decently and in order." , 1 Corinthians 14:40
Community is the heart of safety.

Respecting Our Neighbors in Cordova and Bartlett

FA Memphis is blessed to be nestled within a vibrant residential and business community. We ask all our members and guests to be mindful of our surrounding neighbors:

  • No Street Parking: Please avoid parking on the public streets surrounding the church to ensure that local residents have clear access to their homes.

  • Noise Levels: Be mindful of volume levels when entering or exiting the campus, especially during early morning or late evening gatherings.

  • Cleanliness: We take pride in our city. Please ensure no trash is left behind in the parking areas.

Security and Peace of Mind

Our Safety and Security team works tirelessly to monitor our parking areas during all services and major events. We want you to be able to focus on worship and community, knowing that your vehicle is in a secure, well-lit environment.

However, we always recommend the standard "901 Rule": Hide your things, lock your car, and take your keys. While we provide a watchful eye, practical wisdom is always the best partner to prayer.

Safety and peace in every detail.
