How Can I Be Saved? The Simple Pathway to Faith

Have you ever felt like something was missing? Maybe you’ve reached a point where you realize you can’t navigate this life on your own strength anymore. The question "How can I be saved?" is the most important one you will ever ask. It isn't about joining a club or following a list of rules; it’s about a relationship with the One who created you and loves you perfectly.
The Heart of the Matter
The word "salvation" might sound like a heavy, religious term, but it’s actually quite simple. To be saved means to be rescued. It means being brought out of the darkness of sin and separation from God and into the light of His grace and eternal life.
According to the 16 Fundamental Truths of the Assemblies of God, salvation is a gift from God. You don't have to earn it, and in fact, you can't. It is something we receive through faith in Jesus Christ.

What Does the Bible Say?
Before we dive into the "how," let’s look at what God’s Word says about this pathway to faith. These verses are the foundation of everything we believe at Boundless Online Church.
Romans 10:9 (NIV): "If you declare with your mouth, 'Jesus is Lord,' and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved."
Ephesians 2:8-9 (NIV): "For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith: and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God: not by works, so that no one can boast."
John 3:16 (NIV): "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life."
Understanding the Need for Salvation
To understand the cure, we have to understand the condition. Every one of us has a "sin problem." Sin is simply missing the mark of God's perfect standard. It's the choices we make that pull us away from Him.
Because God is holy and perfect, our sin creates a gap between us and Him. No matter how many good things we do: giving to charity, being a "good person," or trying our best: we cannot bridge that gap on our own.
That is where Jesus comes in. He is the bridge. He lived a perfect life, died on the cross to pay the penalty for our sins, and rose again to defeat death. When we put our trust in Him, the gap is closed.

The Three Stages of Salvation
In our faith journey, salvation is often viewed in three distinct but connected stages. This helps us understand how God works in our lives from the moment we say "yes" until we see Him face to face.
1. Justification (The Start)
Justification is a big word that basically means "just as if I’d never sinned." The moment you place your faith in Jesus, God declares you righteous. Your past is wiped clean. This is an instantaneous act of grace. You are no longer defined by your mistakes; you are defined by Christ’s perfection.
2. Sanctification (The Journey)
Once you are saved, the Holy Spirit begins a lifelong work in you. This is called sanctification. It’s the process of becoming more like Jesus every day. It doesn’t mean you’ll never mess up again, but it means your heart is changing. You’ll start to desire the things God desires. We love to help people through this stage in our Clarion Call Bible Study.
3. Glorification (The Future)
This is the final stage of our salvation. It happens when we leave this world and enter heaven. We will be completely free from the presence of sin and given new, eternal bodies. It is the ultimate hope of every believer.

How Can I Be Saved? (The Steps)
If you are ready to take this step, the pathway is clear. We often use the "ABC" method to keep it simple:
A – Admit. Admit that you are a sinner and that you need a Savior. Acknowledge that you cannot save yourself. Repentance is a part of this: it simply means turning away from your old way of living and turning toward God.
B – Believe. Believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God. Believe that He died for your sins and rose from the grave three days later. It’s not just a head knowledge; it’s a heart trust.
C – Confess. Confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord. This means making a public or outward declaration that He is now the leader of your life. You aren't just adding Him to your life; you are giving Him the wheel.

You Are Not Alone
Taking this step can feel overwhelming, but remember that we are a global community here to walk with you. Whether you are a shift worker watching this at 3:00 AM, a caregiver looking for hope, or someone in a place where it isn't safe to go to a physical building, you belong here.
We help people meet Jesus and grow in faith online. That is our mission. You don't have to have everything figured out to start this journey. You just have to take the first step.

Encouragement for the Journey
Maybe you feel like you've done too much for God to forgive you. Let us tell you right now: His grace is bigger than your past. There is no sin too dark for His light to reach.
Salvation isn't about being "good enough." It’s about being honest enough to say, "I need help." God isn't looking for a perfect performance; He is looking for a surrendered heart.

A Short Prayer to Get Started
If you want to receive Jesus as your Savior today, you can pray a prayer like this. Remember, the words themselves don't save you: it’s the faith in your heart that matters.
"Dear God, I know that I have sinned and I need Your forgiveness. I believe that Jesus died on the cross for my sins and rose again to give me life. I turn from my old ways and I ask You to come into my heart. I trust You as my Lord and Savior. Help me to live for You every day. Amen."
If you just prayed that prayer, we want to hear from you! This is the beginning of the most incredible adventure of your life.
