How to Join a Boundless Online Group in 5 Minutes (Even If You're Tech-Challenged)

Updated: Feb 9

Listen, I get it. The phrase "join an online group" can feel overwhelming if you're not super comfortable with technology. Maybe you've been wanting to connect with other believers, but the thought of navigating websites and buttons and forms makes you want to give up before you even start.

Can I tell you something? You are deeply loved by God, and He wants you connected to His family. That includes finding your people in a small group where you can grow, laugh, pray, and do life together, even if it's online. And I promise you, joining a Boundless online group is way easier than you think.

In fact, I'm going to walk you through it step-by-step. No tech jargon. No confusing instructions. Just simple, clear directions that anyone can follow.

Why Joining a Group Matters

Before we dive into the "how," let me remind you of the "why."

You were never meant to do life alone. Hebrews 10:24-25 reminds us: "And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another."

Whether you're homebound, working odd hours, living in a remote area, or just prefer online connection, Boundless groups give you a place to belong. A place where you're known, loved, and encouraged. Where you can ask questions, share struggles, celebrate wins, and grow in your faith alongside others who get it.

You're never forgotten. You're never alone. And joining a group is one of the best ways to experience that truth.

Step 1: Visit the Boundless Website

First things first, open your internet browser. That's the app you use to look things up online (Safari, Chrome, Edge, Firefox, any of those work).

In the address bar at the top, type: www.boundlessonlinechurch.org

Hit enter. That's it. You're on the Boundless homepage.

See? You've already completed step one. You're doing great.

Step 2: Find the Group Finder

Once you're on the website, look for the Group Finder button. It's designed to help you browse current groups and see what's available. You'll find options for Bible studies, prayer groups, fellowship groups, interest-based groups, and more.

Don't stress if it takes you a minute to locate it. Websites can look different on phones versus computers, so just take your time. If you're struggling, our 24/7 AI assistant or live chat can help guide you, seriously, we're here for you around the clock.

Step 3: Browse the Groups

Now comes the fun part, exploring your options.

You'll see a list of groups with descriptions, meeting times, and topics. Some meet weekly, some meet bi-weekly. Some focus on Scripture study, others on life application, parenting, career, or specific seasons of life like young adults or seniors.

As you browse, ask yourself:

  • What time works best for my schedule?

  • What topic am I most interested in right now?

  • Do I want a smaller, more intimate group or a larger community feel?

There's no wrong answer. The right group is the one that fits you and where you are right now. And guess what? If you try one and it's not the perfect fit, you can always switch. There's no pressure, no judgment, just a family ready to welcome you.

Step 4: Register for Your Group

Found one that sounds good? Awesome. Click on it.

You'll see a Register or Join button. Click that, and you'll be asked to fill out a quick form, usually just your name, email, and maybe a phone number. That's so the group leader can send you meeting links and updates.

Fill it in. Double-check your email address (we've all made typos). Then hit Submit.

Done. You just joined a group. Seriously, that's it.

Step 5: Check Your Email and Mark Your Calendar

Within a day or two, you'll get an email from your group leader. It'll have all the info you need, meeting links (probably Zoom or similar), meeting times, and maybe a welcome message or some resources to help you get started.

Pro tip: Add the meeting time to your phone calendar right away. Set a reminder for 15 minutes before so you don't forget.

If you're worried about using Zoom or video calls, don't be. Most group leaders will walk you through it on your first meeting. And honestly? You just click the link in the email, and it opens the meeting. You don't need to be a tech wizard.

What If I'm Really, Really Tech-Challenged?

Hey, I hear you. Some of you are thinking, "This still sounds hard."

Here's what I want you to do: call us.

Seriously. Pick up the phone and dial our Boundless phone line at 1-901-213-7341. A real person will answer, walk you through the whole process, and even stay on the line while you do it if that helps. We can also connect you with groups that meet over the phone instead of video if that's more your speed.

You are not a burden. You are not "too much." You are a beloved child of God, and we want to help you connect.

You Belong Here

Can I just pause and speak some truth over you?

You might be feeling nervous. Maybe you're thinking, "What if they don't like me? What if I don't fit in? What if I'm too broken, too messy, too far behind in my faith?"

Listen to me: You belong.

God doesn't measure your worth by how much Bible knowledge you have or how "together" your life looks. He sees you as His priceless, deeply loved child. And so do we.

Boundless groups are filled with real people, people who've struggled, doubted, messed up, and are still figuring things out. People who will meet you right where you are, no shame, no judgment, just love and encouragement.

You're not joining a performance. You're joining a family.

More Ways to Connect

Groups are just one piece of what Boundless offers. If you're not quite ready for a group yet, that's okay. You can:

  • Read daily blogs (like this one!) for encouragement and practical faith tips

  • Listen to podcasts that dive deeper into Scripture and life application

  • Join live chat or video sessions for real-time prayer and connection

  • Post prayer requests or praise reports on our prayer and praise board

  • Talk to a pastor anytime, 24/7, we have ministry teams around the globe

And if you're looking for a physical church in your area, we can help with that too. Just search by ZIP code or country, and we'll connect you with a local congregation and even provide a VIP handoff so you're welcomed and expected.

Boundless is here to support you however you need, whether that's fully online, hybrid, or helping you find a local church home.

Biblical Affirmation

Here's a truth I want you to carry with you today:

"For where two or three gather in my name, there am I with them." – Matthew 18:20

When you join a Boundless group, you're not just signing up for a meeting. You're stepping into a space where Jesus promises to show up. Where His presence transforms conversation into communion, strangers into friends, and isolation into belonging.

You are seen. You are valued. And you are already part of God's family, this is just one more way to experience that reality.

A Prayer for You

Father, thank You for the person reading this right now. Thank You that they are never forgotten, never alone, and deeply loved by You. I pray that You would give them courage to take that first step, to click that button, join that group, and experience the beauty of Christian community. Quiet any fear or doubt, and remind them that they belong in Your family. Surround them with people who will build them up, encourage them, and point them back to You. In Jesus' name, amen.
