February 24th
Opening Scripture
"It is of the Lord's mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness." : Lamentations 3:22-23 (KJV)
"Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised)." : Hebrews 10:23 (KJV)
Today's Reflection
Here's what I want you to know this morning: God's promises aren't wishes. They're not crossed-finger hopes or maybe-if-everything-goes-right guarantees. They're rock-solid, wake-up-every-day-and-find-them-still-there realities.
You might be reading this with your coffee still hot, or maybe you're already halfway through a chaotic Tuesday morning. Either way, pause right here. Before the emails, before the to-do list, before the noise of the day drowns out everything else: let this truth settle in your heart.
God's faithfulness doesn't depend on your performance yesterday.
It doesn't require you to have it all together today.
His mercies showed up this morning whether you felt ready for them or not. They're here. Fresh. Specific to whatever you're facing in the next twenty-four hours.

Think about it this way: God knew exactly what February 24th, 2026 would hold for you. He saw this day coming. And He didn't just prepare a generic blessing package: He custom-designed mercies that fit your exact needs today. The patience you'll need for that challenging conversation. The strength to push through when you're tired. The grace to extend forgiveness when it feels impossible.
That's the beauty of "new every morning." God's not recycling yesterday's grace. He's creating fresh provision for fresh challenges.
Here's where it gets really good. In 2 Timothy 2:13, Paul writes something stunning: "If we believe not, yet he abideth faithful: for he cannot deny himself." Read that again slowly. Even when our faith wobbles, His faithfulness doesn't. Even when we struggle to trust, He remains trustworthy. Why? Because faithfulness is woven into His very character. He literally cannot be unfaithful: it would require Him to stop being who He is.
You're not holding onto God by your fingernails today, friend. He's holding you with nail-scarred hands that will never let go.
A Simple Family Action
The Faithfulness Jar
Tonight at dinner, grab an empty jar and some slips of paper. As a family, write down one specific way you saw God's faithfulness today. Maybe someone found their lost homework right before school. Maybe a difficult conversation went better than expected. Maybe you just made it through a hard day and realized you weren't alone.
Drop the papers in the jar. Do this every evening this week.
On Sunday, pull them all out and read them together. You'll be amazed how God shows up in the small moments when we're paying attention.
This isn't about manufacturing happy feelings or forcing gratitude when life is genuinely hard. It's about training our eyes to see what's actually there: God keeping His promises in real time.

Discussion Questions
1. Can you remember a time when God's faithfulness surprised you? Maybe it was provision that came at just the right moment, or strength you didn't know you had, or peace that didn't make logical sense. Share that story. Let your kids hear how God has shown up in your life before: it builds their faith to know He's been faithful to you.
2. What's one worry you're carrying into today that you could trade for trust in God's promises? Be honest here. Model vulnerability for your family. Show them what it looks like to acknowledge fear while choosing faith anyway. This isn't about pretending everything's fine: it's about being real while remaining anchored in truth.
3. How can we help each other remember God's faithfulness when life gets hard? Maybe it's a code word you text each other. Maybe it's a specific verse you return to together. Maybe it's a song you play. Create a family strategy for grounding each other in truth when circumstances start shaking your confidence.
Walking It Out Today
God's promises aren't just nice sentiments for needlepoint pillows. They're practical power for everyday life.
When that relationship feels strained, remember: God is faithful to work all things together for good (Romans 8:28). He's not done yet.
When the bank account looks thin, remember: God is faithful to supply your needs according to His riches in glory (Philippians 4:19). He knows what you need before you ask.
When you feel alone in the struggle, remember: God is faithful who promised, "I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee" (Hebrews 13:5). You're not walking this road solo.

Here's what I love about the Assemblies of God heritage we stand in: we believe in a God who is both sovereign and personal. He's not distant. He's not detached. He's actively involved in the details of your day. The Holy Spirit isn't some theological concept we discuss in Sunday school; He's the present reality empowering you right now.
That's grace-first living. You don't earn God's faithfulness through perfect behavior. You receive it as a gift and let it transform how you move through the world.
A Word for the Weary
Maybe this morning finds you exhausted. Not just tired-need-more-sleep exhausted, but soul-weary. You've been holding it together, showing up, doing the next right thing, and you're running on fumes.
Here's what you need to hear: God's faithfulness doesn't require your strength. His mercies are new this morning whether you feel strong enough to receive them or not.
Lamentations 3 wasn't written during a mountain-top victory season. It was written in the middle of devastation and loss. Jeremiah penned these words about God's faithfulness while Jerusalem was in ruins. The context matters. This isn't prosperity gospel fluff: it's battle-tested truth from someone who kept believing when everything visible said God had forgotten His people.
He hadn't forgotten then.
He hasn't forgotten you now.
Your Next Step
Before you close this devotional, do one thing: speak out loud one promise of God that you need to grab hold of today.
Maybe it's: "God, you promised you'd never leave me. I'm choosing to believe that right now."
Or: "Lord, you said your grace is sufficient. I'm trusting that's true for this situation."
Or simply: "Father, you promised new mercies. Thank you that today is a fresh start."
Say it out loud. There's power in declaring truth when everything in you wants to spiral into worry. You're not hyping yourself up with positive thinking: you're aligning your words with reality. God's promises are more real than whatever problem you're facing.

Closing Prayer
Father, thank you that your faithfulness isn't dependent on my feelings. Thank you that your mercies showed up this morning before I even opened my eyes. Help me recognize them throughout this day.
When I'm tempted to doubt, remind me of your track record. You've been faithful before. You'll be faithful again. That's who you are.
Give me eyes to see your hand at work. Give me courage to trust when I can't see. Give me peace that passes understanding. And help me pass that peace on to others who need to know your promises are real.
I hold fast to the hope I have in you: not because I'm strong enough to hold on, but because you're faithful enough to hold me.
In Jesus' name, amen.
