Struggling for Hope? 7 Divine Healing Stories to Strengthen Your Faith

Prayer & Hope | Struggling for Hope? 7 Divine Healing Stories to Strengthen Your Faith

If you’ve been feeling a bit weighed down lately, I want you to take a deep breath and know one thing for certain: you aren't alone, and you aren't forgotten. In this fast-paced world, life can leave us feeling like we’re running on empty. Whether it’s a physical ailment that won’t quit, a heavy heart from past trauma, or a spiritual dryness that makes God feel miles away, the struggle is real.

But I have some good news. The Holy Spirit is still moving. Healing isn't just something that happened in the New Testament; it’s a vital part of the Gospel that is available today. In the Assemblies of God, we believe that deliverance from sickness is provided for in the atonement and is the privilege of all believers.

I’ve gathered seven powerful stories of hope and restoration to remind you that God is still in the business of making things new.

1. From Brokenness to a New Beginning: Christina’s Story

We often think of healing as a physical "zap," but sometimes the greatest miracle is the restoration of a shattered life. Christina’s journey began in a place of deep darkness. She escaped a dangerous marriage where she suffered immense physical and emotional abuse, including a broken arm.

She found her way to Moriah House. While the doctors helped her arm mend, it was the Holy Spirit who began the deep work of mending her soul. Christina had been raised in the church, but she’ll tell you that it was during this season of recovery where her relationship with Jesus became "very real."

Today, she isn’t just a survivor; she’s thriving. Eight years after her graduation from the program, she’s managing an office, and her daughters are excelling in a Christian school. Her story reminds us that divine healing often starts from the inside out.

2. The 17-Year Wait: Becky’s Sudden Breakthrough

Sometimes, healing is a marathon, not a sprint. Becky Johnson, a registered nurse, dealt with a debilitating illness for seventeen long years. It started back in 2001 during a ministry conference. She struggled with chronic fatigue, nausea, and serious internal issues that required constant medication and infusions.

If you’ve been praying for years with no answer, Becky’s story is for you. In March of 2017, while she was simply going about her day, she felt a divine promise from God. While watching a Christian broadcast, she felt the Holy Spirit move. She didn't just hope she was healed; she claimed it in faith.

When she went back to her doctor, the medical tests confirmed what she already knew: the condition was gone. She canceled her infusions and hasn't had an issue since. This is what we mean when we talk about divine healing: real people, real doctors, and a very real God.

3. Spiritual Fire at the Arena: The Riding High Encounter

Just this month, in February 2026, we saw something incredible happen with Riding High Ministries. Todd Pierce brought a gathering that wasn't just about "church as usual." It was a focused environment for divine encounters.

We heard reports of people who had been bound by addiction and spiritual heaviness for years finding total freedom. The atmosphere was thick with the presence of the Holy Spirit. Many participants experienced what we call the Holy Spirit Baptism, an empowering experience that often follows salvation and brings a new level of strength and "fire" to a believer’s life. When the Holy Spirit moves like that, spiritual healing follows naturally. People walked out of that arena different than they walked in.

4. Healing the Wounds of History: A Community-Wide Movement

Healing isn't always about an individual’s body; sometimes, it’s about the heart of a community. Pastor Todd Conlee and other leaders recognized deep historical wounds, particularly regarding racial division.

They organized retreats that brought together over a thousand people, pastors and congregants from all backgrounds, to walk through painful history together. They didn't just talk about the problems; they prayed for spiritual revival and historical healing. It’s a reminder that the Holy Spirit can heal a community’s heart just as easily as He can heal an individual’s heart.

5. The Living Room Miracle: Finding Peace in the Presence

I want to share a final, more personal account of a local resident who preferred to stay out of the spotlight but gave me permission to share the "gist" of her story. Let’s call her Sarah. Sarah had been struggling with a "cloud" of depression that felt like a physical weight on her chest.

She couldn't make it to a building, so she joined us online. While sitting in her living room, she began to earnestly seek the Holy Spirit Baptism. She wanted that "power from on high" she had read about in Acts. As she prayed, she described a feeling like warm oil being poured over her head. The heaviness vanished. It wasn't a temporary "high", it was a foundational shift. She found the strength to seek help, to reconnect with her family, and to live with joy again.

Practical Steps for Your Healing Journey

If you are struggling for hope today, I want to encourage you with a few practical steps to position yourself for what God wants to do in your life:

  • Protect Your Gates: What we watch and listen to matters. If you’re struggling with fear or heaviness, be mindful of your digital intake. I always recommend using tools like VidAngel or “Enjoy Movies Your Way” to ensure the media coming into your home is clean and life-giving. For online accountability and safety, Bark and Covenant Eyes are excellent resources to keep your digital environment healthy.

  • Immerse Yourself in the Word: Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God. Don't just read the Bible as a textbook; read it as a letter from your Father who loves you.

  • Seek the Holy Spirit: Don't be afraid to ask for more of Him. The Holy Spirit is our Comforter and our Helper. Ask for the Holy Spirit Baptism to empower your walk and bring clarity to your prayers.

  • Join a Community: Healing rarely happens in total isolation. We need each other to stand in the gap when our own faith feels small.

Open hands in prayer seeking the Holy Spirit for divine healing and spiritual peace.

My friend, please hear me: you are never forgotten. You are never alone. You are deeply loved by God. Whether you need a physical miracle, an emotional breakthrough, or a spiritual awakening, Jesus is the same yesterday, today, and forever. We serve a God who is actively moving through His people.
