We've arrived.
Day 10.
The final stop in our journey through the Assemblies of God's Fundamental Truths.
And here's what's remarkable: we're not ending with an ending.
We're ending with a beginning.
Yes, there's a final judgment coming. The Bible is clear about that. But for those who've placed their trust in Jesus, that judgment isn't something to fear: it's the doorway to the most incredible new beginning imaginable.
Let's talk about what is the final judgment, what it means, and why it changes everything about how we live today.
The Reality of the Final Judgment
Scripture doesn't shy away from this truth.
There will be a day when Jesus Christ returns to judge all people: the living and the dead.
"It is appointed for men to die once, but after this the judgment" (Hebrews 9:27, NKJV).
Everyone will stand before Christ's tribunal.
Everyone will give an account.
No exceptions based on status, wealth, fame, or circumstance.
This isn't meant to terrify us. It's meant to ground us in reality.
God is just. God is holy. And sin cannot simply be ignored or swept under the cosmic rug.
But here's where the gospel becomes stunning.
Two Very Different Judgments
The final judgment isn't one-size-fits-all.
There are two completely different experiences:
For those who rejected Jesus:
The judgment will be based on their works and their relationship to God. They'll face the consequences of their sin without the covering of Christ's sacrifice. The Bible describes this as eternal separation from God: a reality of endless remorse in a place called the lake of fire.
It's sobering. It's serious. It's permanent.
But for those in Christ:
The judgment looks entirely different.
When Jesus died on the cross, He took our guilt. All of it.
When we trust in Him, His righteousness covers us. All of it.
So when believers stand before Christ, here's what happens:
All our guilt is laid on Jesus.
All Jesus' righteousness is laid on us.
The result?
No condemnation.
"There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus" (Romans 8:1, NKJV).

You read that right.
For followers of Jesus, the final judgment isn't about determining our eternal destiny: that's already secured. It's about rewards, recognition, and entering into the fullness of what Christ has prepared.
The judgment doesn't send believers to punishment. It sends us home.
The New Heavens and the New Earth
And what a home it is.
"Now I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away" (Revelation 21:1, NKJV).
This isn't just heaven as a spiritual waiting room.
This is the new heavens and new earth Bible scholars have studied for centuries: a fully restored, physical creation where God dwells with His people forever.
God isn't going to destroy the world and leave us floating on clouds.
He's going to renew creation.
Think about that for a moment.
Everything broken: fixed.
Everything corrupted: restored.
Everything painful: healed.
No more death. No more mourning. No more crying. No more pain.
"And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes" (Revelation 21:4, NKJV).
This is the ultimate hope for eternal life.
Not an abstract, disembodied existence.
But a real, tangible, perfect world where we'll live with Jesus face-to-face forever.
Why This Matters Right Now
If you're reading this during a night shift, exhausted and wondering if there's more to life than this grind: there is.
If you're caring for a loved one in hospice, watching them slip away and asking if this is really the end: it's not.
If you're in recovery, battling addictions or past trauma, and feeling like you're too broken for God to use: you're not.
If you're living in an unsafe place, persecuted for your faith, wondering if God sees your suffering: He does.
The promise of the new heavens and new earth isn't just a nice thought for the distant future.
It's an anchor for your soul today.
Because knowing where you're going changes how you walk through today's darkness.
The pain you're experiencing? It's temporary.
The struggle you're facing? It has an expiration date.
The tears you're crying? God is keeping track of every single one: and He'll wipe them all away.
"For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us" (Romans 8:18, NKJV).
The Invitation Still Stands
Here's the critical truth:
The final judgment is inevitable.
The new heavens and new earth are guaranteed.
But your place in that eternal beginning depends on one decision: what you do with Jesus.
Jesus didn't come to condemn the world. He came to save it (John 3:17).
He took the judgment you deserved so you could receive the life He earned.
All you have to do is trust Him.
Not clean yourself up first. Not earn your way in. Not prove you're worthy.
Just come to Him as you are.
"Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest" (Matthew 11:28, NKJV).
This is the gospel.
This is grace.
This is the hope that changes everything.
Living in Light of Eternity
When you understand what's coming: the judgment for unbelievers and the glorious new beginning for those in Christ: it changes how you live today.
You stop living for temporary comfort and start investing in eternal significance.
You stop fearing death and start seeing it as a doorway.
You stop being crushed by present suffering and start holding onto future glory.
You stop worrying about whether this broken world will ever be fixed: because you know God is preparing a new one.
And you start telling others.
Because if this is true: and it is: then the most loving thing you can do is share the hope of eternal life with everyone who will listen.
A Series Ending, But a Journey Just Beginning
We've spent ten days walking through the Fundamental Truths.
From the inspiration of Scripture to the final judgment and eternal life.
From understanding God's nature to experiencing His power.
From grasping salvation to anticipating glory.
These aren't just doctrines to study.
They're truths to live by.
And they all point to the same stunning reality:
God loves you.
Jesus died for you.
The Spirit empowers you.
And a perfect eternity awaits you.
The final judgment isn't the end of the story.
It's the beginning of forever.
Your Next Step
If you've been following this series and you've never trusted Jesus as your Savior, today is your day.
Don't wait for a better moment.
Don't think you need to get your life together first.
Jesus is inviting you right now: in the middle of your mess, your pain, your questions: to come to Him.
And if you already know Jesus, let this truth settle deep into your soul:
You're not headed for condemnation.
You're headed for glory.
Hold onto that hope when the night shift feels endless, when the caregiving feels impossible, when the recovery feels too hard, when the persecution feels unbearable.
Your suffering has an expiration date.
Your joy does not.
