Welcome back to Day 2 of The Boundless Daily.
Today we're looking at one of the most important truths in all of Scripture: the nature of God Himself.
Who is God? What is He like? And why does it matter?
Let's dive in.
One God, Not Many
Here's the foundational truth: There is only one true God.
Not two. Not dozens. Not thousands.
One.
This might seem obvious to us now, but when God first revealed Himself to Abraham and the Hebrew people, it was revolutionary.
The ancient world was filled with gods. Babylonians had gods for everything. Egyptians worshiped the sun, the river, animals. Greeks and Romans had entire pantheons.
But God said something radically different:
"Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God, the LORD is one" (Deuteronomy 6:4).
This is called the Shema, and faithful Jews have recited it daily for thousands of years.
Jesus Himself affirmed it.
When asked which commandment was most important, Jesus quoted the Shema: "The Lord our God, the Lord is one" (Mark 12:29).
One God. Not many. Not a committee. Not a collection.
One.

Three Persons, One God
Now here's where it gets beautiful and mysterious.
The Bible reveals that this one God exists in three Persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
Not three gods. One God in three distinct Persons.
We call this the Trinity.
The Father is fully God. The Son is fully God. The Holy Spirit is fully God.
Yet there is only one God.
This isn't a math problem we can solve. It's a mystery we embrace.
The Trinity isn't taught in one single verse: it's woven throughout all of Scripture:
At Jesus' baptism, the Father speaks from heaven, the Son stands in the water, and the Spirit descends like a dove (Matthew 3:16-17).
Jesus commands us to baptize in the name: singular: of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit (Matthew 28:19).
Paul closes a letter with a three-fold blessing: the grace of Jesus, the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit (2 Corinthians 13:14).
The Trinity means God is not lonely. He's not isolated.
Within Himself, He is relationship. He is love. He is community.
And He invites us into that relationship.
What God Is Like
So what is this one true God like?
The Bible paints a vivid picture:
He is all-knowing. Nothing is hidden from Him. He knows every thought, every prayer, every secret hope.
He is all-powerful. Nothing is too hard for Him. He spoke the universe into existence. He holds your life in His hands.
He is everywhere. You can't outrun Him. You can't hide from Him. Wherever you are right now: a hospital room, a factory floor, a prison cell, a war zone: He is with you.
He is unchanging. People change. Circumstances change. Cultures change. But God remains the same yesterday, today, and forever (Hebrews 13:8).
He is eternal. He has no beginning and no end. He always has been and always will be.
And here's the most stunning part: this infinite, all-powerful, eternal God knows your name.
He sees you. He loves you. He has never stopped pursuing you.

Why the Trinity Matters
Some people wonder, "Does the Trinity really matter? Can't I just believe in God and be done with it?"
But the Trinity isn't just a doctrine to memorize. It changes everything.
It reveals God's nature. The Trinity shows us that God is relational at His very core. Love isn't something God does: it's who He is.
It makes salvation possible. The Father sent the Son. The Son died on the cross for our sins. The Spirit applies that salvation to our hearts. All three Persons work together to bring us home.
It shapes how we live. Because God is a community of love, we're called to live in community. We're made in His image: which means we're made for relationship, not isolation.
It grounds our worship. We don't worship an abstract idea. We worship a living God who is Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
The Trinity tells us that God is both powerful and personal.
Majestic and near.
Infinite and intimate.
The God Who Pursues You
Here's something you need to know:
The one true God is not distant. He's not cold. He's not sitting in heaven waiting for you to figure everything out.
He's pursuing you.
Right now.
Jesus said, "The Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost" (Luke 19:10).
The Father runs to the prodigal. The Shepherd leaves the ninety-nine to find the one. The Spirit convicts, draws, wakes us up.
All three Persons of the Trinity are working to bring you into relationship with God.
You might feel far away. You might feel unworthy. You might feel like you've messed up too many times.
But God hasn't given up on you.
He never will.

How to Respond
So how do we respond to the one true God?
With worship. He alone is worthy. Not money. Not success. Not comfort. Not approval. Only God.
With trust. He knows what He's doing. Even when life feels chaotic, God is still on the throne. He's all-knowing, all-powerful, and He loves you.
With obedience. Following God isn't about rule-keeping. It's about relationship. When we love Him, we want to live the way He designed us to live.
With gratitude. We don't deserve His love. We didn't earn it. But He gives it freely: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit working together to save us.
If you've never surrendered your life to Jesus, today is the day.
You don't need to clean yourself up first. You don't need to have all the answers.
Just come to Him. Tell Him you need Him. Ask Him to forgive you. Invite Him into your life.
The one true God will meet you right where you are.
