Welcome back to Day 2 of The Boundless Daily.
Yesterday we talked about the Bible being God's Word. Today, we're diving into who that God actually is.
And if you're reading this between shifts, during a quiet moment while someone sleeps, or in a hospital waiting room: this one's especially for you.
The God Who Never Sleeps
Here's something beautiful for anyone working nights, caring for someone around the clock, or feeling like the world moves on while you're standing still.
The God we're talking about today never sleeps.
He doesn't take a shift off.
He doesn't clock out when things get hard.
And He's fully present with you right now: whether it's 3 AM or 3 PM where you are.

One God, Fully Present
So who is this God?
The Bible teaches something unique: there is one true God who exists in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
Not three gods.
One God. Three persons.
This isn't math. It's mystery.
And it's beautiful.
Think of it this way: God the Father loves you. God the Son (Jesus) died for you. God the Holy Spirit lives in you.
All three. All one. All God.
The early church father Gregory the Wonderworker put it simply: "We acknowledge one true God, the one first cause, and one Son, very God of very God...and one Holy Spirit."
That's not religious jargon. That's the foundation of everything.
Why This Matters in the Middle of the Night
Maybe you're wondering why this theology matters when you're exhausted from a double shift or sitting beside someone you love in hospice.
Here's why.
When you know there's only one true God: and He's fully present as Father, Son, and Spirit: you understand something powerful:
You're never talking to the wrong Person.
When you cry out for help, the Father hears you.
When you need someone who understands suffering, Jesus is right there with you.
When you need strength you don't have, the Holy Spirit fills you.
You don't have to figure out who to pray to or which part of God is "on duty."
He's all there. All the time.

The God Who Understands Your World
Here's what sets the one true God apart from every other belief system.
He didn't stay distant.
God the Son: Jesus: became human. He worked. He got tired. He stayed up late. He cared for people who needed help.
He knows what it's like to be interrupted. To be needed. To feel the weight of other people's suffering.
And because He rose from the dead, He's alive right now.
Not as a memory. Not as a nice idea.
Actually alive.
That same Jesus is with you in your car, your break room, your loved one's bedroom, wherever you are.
The Trinity at Jesus' Baptism
Scripture shows us this beautiful picture of the Trinity at Jesus' baptism.
The Son (Jesus) is being baptized in the water.
The Father speaks from heaven: "This is my Son, whom I love."
The Holy Spirit descends like a dove.
Three persons. One God. All present. All active.
It's not that God takes on different roles like an actor wearing masks.
It's that God exists in perfect relationship within Himself: and invites you into that relationship.

What This Means for You Today
No matter where you are or what shift you're working, here's the truth:
The one true God sees you.
He's not watching from a distance. He's not checking in occasionally.
He's fully present.
The Father loves you deeply.
Jesus walks with you through every hard thing.
The Holy Spirit gives you strength when yours runs out.
This isn't three separate experiences. It's one God loving you completely.
For the Caregiver
If you're caring for someone who's sick, aging, or struggling: you're doing holy work.
And the God who never sleeps is right there with you.
When you're changing sheets at 2 AM, He's there.
When you're holding someone's hand through pain, He's there.
When you're too tired to pray in full sentences, the Holy Spirit prays for you with groans too deep for words.
You're not alone in this.
For the Shift Worker
If you work while most people sleep, your schedule doesn't confuse God.
He made time, but He's not bound by it.
When your world is quiet and everyone else is asleep, God is wide awake with you.
When you need wisdom for a decision at work, He's there.
When you're driving home exhausted, He's keeping you safe.
When you wonder if anyone sees the sacrifice you're making, He sees it all.
The One Who Is Enough
Here's the bottom line.
You don't need multiple gods for multiple needs.
You need the one true God who is fully sufficient for everything.
He's powerful enough to handle your biggest crisis.
He's personal enough to care about your smallest worry.
He's present enough to be with you right now.
Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
One God.
Fully yours.

A Simple Prayer for Today
God, I'm grateful You're one: fully present and fully enough. Thank You for never sleeping, never leaving, and never giving up on me. Help me rest in knowing You're here right now. Amen.
