Welcome back to Day 3.
If you're reading this on a break between shifts, or in a quiet moment before the world wakes up, you're exactly who we're thinking about.
Today we're talking about something that changes everything: who Jesus really is.
Not just a good teacher. Not just a prophet or a moral example.
God himself.
This is the third foundational truth of the Assemblies of God, and honestly? It's the one that makes Christianity different from every other religion on earth.
Let's dig in.
The Big Question
Here's what makes Jesus different from every other religious figure in history:
He claimed to be God.
Not a messenger from God. Not someone pointing the way to God.
God in human form.

Buddha never claimed to be God. Muhammad never claimed to be God. Confucius, Gandhi, none of them made this claim.
Jesus did.
And he didn't make it quietly. He said it directly, defended it publicly, and accepted worship because of it.
Either he was telling the truth, or he was the most successful fraud in human history.
There's no middle ground here.
What Jesus Said About Himself
Let's look at what actually happened.
In John 8:58, Jesus made a statement that shocked everyone listening:
"Before Abraham was, I am."
That phrase, "I am", wasn't random. It was the name God gave Moses at the burning bush. The sacred, unspoken name of God in Jewish tradition.
Jesus was saying: I am that God.
The religious leaders understood exactly what he meant. They picked up stones to kill him for blasphemy.
But here's the thing: Jesus didn't back down. He didn't say, "Wait, you misunderstood me."
He stood by it.
In John 10:30, he said it even more clearly: "I and the Father are one."
Again, the leaders tried to stone him. And again, Jesus defended his claim instead of denying it.
The Disciple Who Saw It
After the resurrection, Thomas, the disciple famous for doubting, saw Jesus alive and said:
"My Lord and my God!" (John 20:28)
Jesus didn't correct him. Didn't say, "Hey, don't call me that."
He accepted it. Because it was true.

This matters because throughout Scripture, worship is reserved for God alone.
When people tried to worship angels, the angels stopped them immediately. When Paul and Barnabas were mistaken for gods, they tore their clothes in horror.
But Jesus? He accepted worship over and over again.
Because he wasn't just representing God. He was God.
What Only God Can Do
The Bible shows Jesus doing things that only God can do:
He created everything. John 1:3 says all things were made through him. Not by him helping God. Through him as God.
He forgave sins. When Jesus told a paralyzed man his sins were forgiven, the religious leaders were furious. They understood that only God can forgive sins. Jesus proved his authority by healing the man on the spot.
He claimed to give eternal life. In John 10:28, Jesus said, "I give them eternal life, and they will never perish." That's not something a mere human can promise.
He will judge the world. Jesus said he'll be the one sitting on the throne at the final judgment (Matthew 25:31-32).
These aren't the claims of a good moral teacher.
They're the claims of God.
Why This Changes Everything
So why does this matter to you right now?
Because if Jesus is God, then:
His words carry ultimate authority. When he says, "Come to me, all who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest" (Matthew 11:28): that's not just good advice. That's a promise from the Creator of the universe.
His sacrifice actually works. Only God could pay the debt for humanity's sin. A good man dying couldn't do it. But God himself taking on human form and dying in our place? That changes everything.
His promises are trustworthy. When Jesus says he'll never leave you or forsake you, that's not wishful thinking. That's the eternal, unchanging God making you a guarantee.
Your prayers reach the throne. When you pray in Jesus' name, you're not praying to a middleman. You're praying to God himself, who understands what it's like to be human because he lived it.

If Jesus is just a teacher, Christianity is just another self-help philosophy.
But if Jesus is God? Then Christianity is the only religion where God himself came down to rescue us.
That's not arrogance. That's just reality.
The Memphis Connection
Here at Boundless Online Church, we've got roots in Memphis: a city built on the crossroads of faith, struggle, and hope.
But our reach is global. We exist for the people who can't make it to a Sunday morning service.
The nurse working the night shift.
The caregiver who can't leave home.
The person in a country where gathering publicly is dangerous.
The truth about Jesus' deity isn't just for people in church buildings on Sunday morning.
It's for you: wherever you are, whatever shift you're working, whatever circumstance keeps you from a traditional church experience.
Jesus didn't come just for the religious insiders. He came for everyone.
And because he's God, he can meet you right where you are.
What This Means Today
You don't have to clean yourself up before coming to Jesus.
You don't have to understand everything about theology.
You don't have to have your life together.
Because Jesus is God, he already knows everything about you: and he loves you anyway.
The deity of Christ means your Savior is also your Creator. The one who forgives you is the one who formed you. The one who calls you is the one who will complete the work he started in you.
That's hope you can build a life on.

Where Do You Go From Here?
If this is new to you, or if you're still processing, that's okay.
Faith isn't about having all the answers instantly. It's about taking the next step toward Jesus.
Maybe that step is saying a simple prayer: "Jesus, if you're really God, show me. Help me believe."
Maybe it's reading one of the Gospels: Matthew, Mark, Luke, or John: and watching Jesus' claims unfold in real time.
Maybe it's reaching out and asking questions. We're here for that.
You can visit our Prayer Wall anytime, or text us at 1-901-213-7341 (message & data rates may apply). Not for emergencies.
No question is too simple. No doubt is too big.
Because the God who became human understands what it's like to have questions.
