Welcome to Day 6 of The Boundless Daily.
If you've been following along, you know we've been walking through something special together. Today's study might just change how you see yourself.
Because on Day 6 of creation, God made something extraordinary.
He made you.
What Happened on Day 6
Let's open our Bibles to Genesis 1:26-31.
This is where everything shifts.
God had spent five days creating light, sky, land, seas, plants, sun, moon, stars, fish, and animals. The universe was taking shape. Beauty was everywhere.
But something was still missing.
"Then God said, 'Let us make mankind in our image, in our likeness...'" (Genesis 1:26, NIV)

Stop right there.
In our image. In our likeness.
God didn't say that about the mountains. He didn't say that about the oceans or the eagles or the lions.
He said it about people.
He said it about you.
You're Not an Accident
Here's what Day 6 teaches us: you were created on purpose, with purpose.
You're not a cosmic accident.
You're not a random collection of cells.
You're not a mistake.
You bear the image of the Creator of the universe. That means something. That changes everything.
When God made humanity, He didn't just speak us into existence like He did with the rest of creation. Genesis 2:7 tells us He formed us. He breathed His own breath into us.
That's intimate. That's personal. That's intentional.
What Does "Image of God" Actually Mean?
You might be wondering: what does it mean to be made in God's image?
Great question.
It means you have:
The ability to create. You can build, design, write, compose, imagine. You reflect God's creativity.
The capacity to love. You can give, sacrifice, care for others. You reflect God's love.
The power to choose. You have free will. You can make decisions. You reflect God's freedom.
The ability to connect. You can have real relationship with God and others. You reflect God's relational nature.
Eternal value. Your life matters beyond this moment. You reflect God's eternal nature.
That's huge.

The Blessing That Changes Everything
After God created humanity on Day 6, He did something He hadn't done with any other part of creation.
He blessed them.
"God blessed them and said to them, 'Be fruitful and increase in number; fill the earth and subdue it. Rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky and over every living creature that moves on the ground.'" (Genesis 1:28, NIV)
This wasn't just a nice sentiment.
This was a commission. A calling. A purpose.
God gave humanity responsibility. He invited us into partnership with Him to care for His creation.
You were made to steward something. To build something. To care for something.
Your life has divine purpose woven into its very DNA.
It Was Very Good
Here's my favorite part of Day 6.
After everything was created, after humanity walked the earth, God looked at all He had made.
Genesis 1:31 says: "God saw all that he had made, and it was very good."
Not just good.
Very good.

When God looks at you, He doesn't see a project that needs fixing before He can love you. He sees someone He created with intention, purpose, and deep affection.
Yes, sin entered the world and broke things. Yes, we need Jesus to restore what was lost.
But your core identity hasn't changed.
You're still made in God's image.
You're still very good in His eyes.
When You Forget Who You Are
Life has a way of making us forget.
We mess up and think we're worthless.
We get rejected and think we're unwanted.
We compare ourselves to others and think we don't measure up.
But Day 6 reminds us: your value isn't based on your performance. It's based on who made you.
You're not defined by:
Your mistakes
Your past
Your job title
Your relationship status
What others think of you
How much money you make
You're defined by the God who formed you and called you very good.
That's your identity. That's your foundation. That's your truth.
Living Like You're Made in God's Image
So what do we do with this?
How do we live in light of Day 6?
See yourself the way God sees you. When the enemy whispers lies about who you are, remember Genesis 1:27. You're made in God's image. Period.
See others the way God sees them. Every person you meet bears God's image too. That changes how we treat people. Everyone has divine worth.
Live with purpose. God gave humanity a mission on Day 6. Ask Him what He's calling you to steward, build, or care for in this season.
Rest in God's blessing. You don't have to earn God's approval. He already blessed you. Receive it. Walk in it.
Partner with God. You were made to work alongside God in His mission. Say yes to that invitation.
A Prayer for Today
Father, thank You for Day 6.
Thank You for creating me on purpose.
Thank You for breathing Your life into me.
Help me see myself the way You see me, not through the lens of my failures or my achievements, but through the truth of Your Word.
I'm made in Your image.
I'm blessed by You.
I have purpose because of You.
Show me what You're calling me to today.
Help me walk in the identity You've given me.
In Jesus' name, amen.
Your Next Step
Take a moment today to write down this truth: "I am made in the image of God."
Put it somewhere you'll see it: your mirror, your desk, your phone wallpaper.
Let Day 6 sink deep into your heart.
You're not an accident. You're not forgotten. You're not worthless.
You're made in God's image. And that changes everything.
