Trusting God with a Fluctuating Income

Let’s be real: the gig economy can be stressful.

Some weeks the orders are non-stop. Other weeks, it feels like the world has forgotten the app exists. It’s hard to plan for the future when you don’t know what you’ll make by Friday.

This uncertainty can lead to a lot of late-night anxiety.

In the Assemblies of God tradition, we lean heavily on the "Blessed Hope." While that refers to the return of Christ, it also informs how we live today. We have a hope that isn't tied to the stock market, the algorithm, or the current demand for rideshares.

Trusting God with your finances doesn't mean you stop working hard. It means you stop carrying the weight of the world on your shoulders. It means realizing that God is your ultimate Provider, not the company behind the app.

When the income is low, we pray for provision. When the income is high, we practice gratitude. In both seasons, we remember that He is the One who gives us the strength to work.

God doesn't work on a five-star scale.

His grace is not performance-based. You don't have to "earn" your way into His favor. One of our core beliefs is that salvation is available to everyone, regardless of their past or their current "acceptance rate."

If you’ve had a rough day: maybe you got a flat tire, or a client was unfair, or you just feel like you’re spinning your wheels: take a breath. God’s love for you is constant. It doesn't fluctuate with the market.
