Memphis kids can experience Jesus on their level through KidsZone at FA Memphis, where Scripture is taught clearly and lovingly, and kids are invited to pray, worship, and grow in faith. We also share digital family resources through Boundless Online Church so families can keep discipleship going at home.
FA Memphis Series: so we can make sure we know that these are being posted to Boundless Online Church (www.boundlessonlinechurch.org) Boundless Online Church is an online outreach ministry of FA Memphis Church, here in Cordova, TN.
Building Faith Foundations in Memphis (and for Families Online)
As parents, we all want more than “good behavior.” We want a biblical foundation that holds when life gets loud. That’s why we built KidsZone at FA Memphis—to help children meet Jesus in age-appropriate ways and learn the truth of God’s Word early.
Proverbs 22:6 anchors our approach: "Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it." We take that seriously. Every Bible lesson, worship moment, and small group conversation is meant to plant seeds of lifelong faith.
And in a Pentecostal (Assemblies of God) worldview, we also believe kids aren’t “junior Christians.” The Holy Spirit is at work in young lives, helping them understand Scripture, learn to pray, and respond to Jesus with real faith (Acts 2:17).

Age-Appropriate Ministry Structure
FA KidsZone operates on a tiered system that recognizes where children are developmentally:
Nursery & Preschool (6 weeks through age 5) combines Bible stories, songs, and activities calibrated for the youngest learners. We maintain staffing ratios that exceed industry safety standards.
Elementary KidsZone (Kindergarten through 5th grade) progresses through interactive worship experiences, Bible lessons presented through storytelling and media, and small group discussions led by trained volunteers.
All volunteers complete background checks and attend orientation sessions focused on child safety protocols and age-appropriate teaching methods. We implement secure check-in systems that require matching codes for child pickup.
Sunday Morning Programming
Sunday School begins at 9:30 am and provides foundational Bible teaching in classroom settings. Teachers use curriculum aligned with children's reading levels and comprehension abilities. Each session includes memorization work, discussion questions, and application activities.
FA Kids Church meets at 10:30 am during the main worship service. This program runs parallel to adult services and features:
Live worship music written for elementary-age voices & energy levels
Object lessons that connect biblical principles to everyday experiences
Interactive teaching segments with visual aids & participation elements
Small group time for questions and personal application
Prayer circles where children learn to talk to God authentically
The curriculum follows a systematic approach through Scripture, ensuring children receive comprehensive biblical knowledge rather than disconnected stories.
Wednesday Evening Activities
Wednesday programming at 6:30 pm offers specialized ministry tracks:
Girls Ministries Clubs (Kindergarten through 5th grade) combines Bible study with mentorship relationships. Girls work through age-graded materials that address identity, friendship, character development, and spiritual disciplines. The program includes badge work that rewards Scripture memory and service projects.
Royal Rangers Boys Ministry (Kindergarten through 5th grade) integrates outdoor skills, team challenges, and biblical truth. Boys advance through achievement levels while learning leadership principles rooted in Christian character.
Both programs meet simultaneously, allowing families to drop off multiple children for focused, gender-specific ministry.
What Your Child Learns
We structure content around four core areas that build spiritual maturity:
Biblical Literacy: Children progress through Old Testament narratives, New Testament accounts, and practical wisdom literature. By 5th grade, students can navigate a Bible independently and understand its overarching story of redemption.
Worship & Prayer: We teach children that worship extends beyond singing and prayer involves more than reciting requests. Kids learn to express gratitude, confess honestly, and listen for God's voice through Scripture.
Christian Character: Lessons connect biblical commands to real-world scenarios children face: friendship conflicts, honesty in school, respecting authority, managing emotions, and serving others.
Faith Sharing: Age-appropriate evangelism training equips children to articulate what they believe and why. We role-play conversations and provide simple gospel presentations kids can use with friends.
Safety as Priority
Parents entrust us with their most precious gifts. We honor that trust through multiple protective measures:
Secure check-in stations requiring parent/guardian registration
Name tag systems with matching codes for pickup verification
Two-adult rules ensuring no child is ever alone with a single volunteer
Facility monitoring with controlled access points
Allergy protocols for snack times with clearly marked alternatives
Emergency procedures practiced quarterly with all staff
Our children's ministry director maintains open communication with families regarding policies, curriculum content, and individual child needs.
The Car Ride Life Hack
The drive home from church creates a prime opportunity for spiritual conversation, but many parents struggle to move beyond "How was church?" followed by "Fine."
Try the "Three Question Framework" designed by child development specialists:
Question 1: "What was the Bible story about today?" This recall question confirms your child paid attention and gives them practice retelling narratives.
Question 2: "What did that story teach us about God or people?" This moves beyond facts to meaning, helping children identify principles.
Question 3: "How could you use that lesson this week?" This application step connects Sunday teaching to Monday living.
Keep the conversation light. If your child seems tired or distracted, save deeper discussion for dinner or bedtime. The goal is consistent engagement, not forced interrogation.
Bonus tip: Ask your child to pray for the family before the car starts. One-sentence prayers count. This habit normalizes talking to God outside church buildings.

Why KidsZone Works
Children who participate consistently in age-appropriate ministry demonstrate measurably different outcomes. Research from faith formation studies shows regular attendees develop:
Stronger biblical literacy compared to sporadic participants
More confidence discussing spiritual topics
Deeper peer relationships within the faith community
Greater likelihood of maintaining church involvement through adolescence
We see these patterns confirmed weekly. Children arrive uncertain and leave empowered. They discover that church isn't something adults drag them to: it's a place where they are seen, heard, and loved.
Getting Started
New families can visit any Sunday without advance registration. We provide guest badges at our KidsZone check-in area near the main entrance. Staff members walk first-time visitors through the process and answer questions about programming.
Parents are welcome to accompany younger children during their first visit until everyone feels comfortable with the environment. We never rush separation.
For families considering consistent involvement, we recommend:
Visit on a typical Sunday rather than special events to see standard programming
Connect with the children's ministry director to discuss any special needs or concerns
Attend a Wednesday program to experience the specialized ministry tracks
Talk with your child after each visit about their experience
