Where Do I Start If I Need Someone to Pray for Me?

Target Audience: Tier 1 – Seekers & First-Time Guests

Where Do I Start If I Need Someone to Pray for Me?

Direct Answer (50 words or less): Ask in Jesus’ name—clearly and honestly—then let a Spirit-filled believer or church agree with you in prayer. Share what you need (peace, healing, direction), and invite them to pray right now. We believe prayer is powerful, and God still heals. You don’t have to carry this alone.

If you’re here because you’re hurting, anxious, sick, overwhelmed, or just worn down—I'm really glad you found this.

Sometimes the bravest thing you can say is: “Can someone pray for me?”

And the good news is… you don’t have to figure it out alone.

The WHY behind prayer at FA Memphis & Boundless

At First Assembly Memphis (FA Memphis) and Boundless Online Church, we take prayer seriously because we take people seriously.

Prayer is one of the primary ways we:

  • care for families in Memphis and the 901

  • stay attentive to the Holy Spirit

  • believe God for comfort, provision, direction, and healing

If you're local, we have people ready to pray with you in person.

If you're not local, you can still be prayed for and cared for through Boundless—because distance should never block support.

A Pentecostal (Spirit-filled) view: power in prayer + divine healing

In the Assemblies of God, we believe prayer is more than positive thinking.

Prayer is a real conversation with God. You can come to the Father because of Jesus (Hebrews 4:16).

Prayer is powerful. Scripture says prayer is “powerful and effective” (James 5:16).

We believe God still heals. We pray for healing because the Bible tells us to (James 5:14–15), and because we believe God is still the same today.

We also believe God often strengthens us through corporate prayer—when the church agrees together and refuses to let someone suffer alone.

What does the Bible say about starting a prayer life?

What to say when you don’t have words (a simple prayer)

You can pray this out loud right now:

“Jesus, I need You. I’m asking for help, peace, and healing. Forgive me, strengthen me, and guide me. Put the right people around me. I trust You with what I’m carrying. Amen.”
