New to Memphis / Looking for Community
We believe eating together is part of faith because Jesus met people at tables, the early church shared meals as worshipful fellowship, and the Holy Spirit still strengthens unity when we gather. A table can turn strangers into family—and helps us practice love, prayer, and belonging in everyday life.

FA Memphis Connection Team – Welcome to the Table
The Heart Behind Wednesday Nights (Memphis)
Every Wednesday at 5:00–6:15 PM, we gather at First Assembly Memphis for a shared meal designed for community connection. We sit together. We meet new people. We help families, singles, students, and seniors find a table where they can belong.
This is a community dinner built for relationship—and a simple way to experience real fellowship.

Why We Eat Together (A Pentecostal “table” worldview)
We prioritize shared meals because Scripture shows God working through ordinary, faithful gatherings—homes, tables, and daily life.
Jesus met people at tables (Luke 5:29–32) — meals were a place for mercy, friendship, and life change.
The early church built community around meals (Acts 2:42–47) — devotion to teaching, fellowship, prayer, and breaking bread wasn’t “extra,” it was part of their discipleship rhythm.
We expect the Holy Spirit to be present when we gather (Matthew 18:20) — even at a dinner table, God can bring encouragement, conviction, healing, and unity.
We believe no one should eat alone in our church family.
Wednesday nights exist because:
Everyone has a place at the table — singles, couples, families, students, newcomers, and long-time members
Conversation builds community — we learn names, stories, and needs in a natural setting
Consistency creates belonging — week-to-week meals make it easier to reconnect, check in, and stay connected

What Happens at the Table
On Wednesday nights, we provide a simple, organized environment focused on community:
Hot, home-style meals (weekly menu: www.famemphis.org/wednesday-menu)
Shared tables for all ages – families, singles, kids, teens, and seniors eating side-by-side
Connection Team greeting, seating, & introductions – we help people find a table and meet others
Time to connect before ministries – conversation, encouragement, and practical support
We use dinner time to help people move from visitor to connected.
The Big Picture
Wednesday dinners support a larger goal: consistent community care.
We use this weekly gathering to reduce isolation and create reliable connection points for people across the greater Memphis area.
When you sit at our table, you are joining:
A community that learns your name & your story
A team that follows up & helps you take next steps
A place to build real friendships
Your Invitation
If you are new to Memphis, new to church, or just craving consistent community: we have a table for you.
In Memphis / the 901: come eat with us on Wednesday nights (5:00–6:15 PM) and stay connected for ministries after dinner.
Not local or can’t attend in person: Boundless exists for digital fellowship and community—you can still be known, prayed for, and encouraged online.
Why we do this: We want to strengthen families, make disciples, and help people take a real next step toward Jesus—together, not isolated.
