Why Life-Stage Bible Studies Will Change the Way You Connect with God (No Matter Your Schedule)

"Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it." (Proverbs 22:6, KJV)

Have you ever felt like your Bible study just doesn't fit your life right now? Maybe you're chasing toddlers around the living room, wondering how anyone finds time to sit quietly with Scripture. Or perhaps you're in a completely different season, newly married, recently retired, or navigating singleness, and the generic devotionals feel like they were written for someone else entirely.

Here's the beautiful truth: God meets you exactly where you are.

At Boundless Online Church, our community believes that faith is not one-size-fits-all. That is why life-stage Bible studies can help people connect with God in ways that speak to your season, your struggles, and your joys.

Welcome home, friend. You're never forgotten, never alone, and deeply loved by God.

What Are Life-Stage Bible Studies?

Life-stage Bible studies are Scripture-focused studies designed specifically for where you are in life right now. Instead of trying to squeeze your unique circumstances into a generic study, these resources meet you with relevant wisdom, practical application, and community support.

Here's how we approach it at Boundless Online Church:

  • Monday: Parental Advice (Young Kids)

  • Tuesday: Parental Advice (Teens/College)

  • Wednesday: Singles Bible Study

  • Thursday: Married Couples Bible Study

  • Friday: Older Singles Bible Study

  • Sunday: General Encouragement for Families

Young Family in Prayer

No matter your schedule or situation, there is a place for you. And the best part? You can engage whenever it works for you, whether that is early morning, lunch break, or late at night after the kids are finally asleep.

Today's Focus: Parenting Young Children

Since today is Monday, let's dive into something close to many of your hearts, raising little ones in faith.

If you're a parent of young children, you know the beautiful chaos. The sticky fingers, the endless questions, the meltdowns in the grocery store. But you also know the sacred moments, tiny hands folded in prayer, curious eyes asking about Jesus, bedtime snuggles while reading Bible stories.

You are doing holy work, even when it doesn't feel like it.

Monday Bible Study: Deuteronomy 6:6-7

"And these words, which I command thee this day, shall be in thine heart: And thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children, and shalt talk of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, and when thou liest down, and when thou risest up."

What This Means for You

God doesn't expect you to have formal Bible study sessions with your three-year-old (though wouldn't that be something!). Instead, He invites you to weave faith into the ordinary moments:

  • When you sit in your house: Talk about God's goodness during meals or playtime.

  • When you walk by the way: Point out creation on walks, "Look what God made!"

  • When you lie down: Pray together at bedtime, keeping it simple and heartfelt.

  • When you rise up: Start mornings with gratitude, even if it's just "Thank you, Jesus, for today!"

Reflection Questions

  1. What ordinary moment this week could become a faith-building opportunity?

  2. How can you model prayer and Scripture reading in front of your children?

  3. What's one simple Bible truth you want your child to carry into adulthood?

Life Hack: The 3-Minute Faith Moment

Here's a game-changer for exhausted parents: You don't need an hour. You need three minutes.

Try This Today:

Morning (1 minute): Before breakfast, say one thing you're thankful for out loud. Invite your child to share too.

Afternoon (1 minute): When your child asks "why" about something in nature, connect it to God. "Why is the sky blue?" becomes "God made the sky so beautiful, didn't He?"

Evening (1 minute): At bedtime, pray one sentence together: "Thank you, God, for [something from today]. Please help us tomorrow. Amen."

That's it. Three minutes, scattered throughout your day. No pressure, no guilt, no elaborate setup.

Research shows that regular engagement with Scripture: even briefly: leads to increased faith commitment and spiritual growth. It's less about perfection and more about presence. Your children aren't watching for flawless faith; they're watching for real faith.

Movie Review: "The Young Messiah" (2016)

Rating: ★★★★☆ (4/5 stars)

Looking for a family-friendly film that sparks faith conversations? The Young Messiah tells a fictional but reverent story of Jesus as a seven-year-old, imagining His early awareness of His divine identity.

Why It's Great for Parents of Young Kids:

  • Age-appropriate content: No graphic violence or mature themes

  • Conversation starters: Opens doors to discuss who Jesus was as a child

  • Relatable: Shows Jesus experiencing childhood emotions and questions

Discussion Prompts After Watching:

  1. "What do you think Jesus was like as a kid?"

  2. "How do you think Mary and Joseph taught Jesus about God?"

  3. "Jesus loved people and helped them. How can we do that too?"

This movie isn't theologically perfect (it's based on Anne Rice's novel), but it can still be a conversation tool for introducing young children to the humanity and divinity of Christ. If you choose to watch it, consider using a family-safe clean version through VidAngel or “Enjoy Movies Your Way,” and use online safety and accountability tools like Bark and Covenant Eyes for your home.

A diverse family enjoys a cozy movie night, illustrating faith-building moments in Christian parenting.

Your Life-Changing Affirmation

Read this aloud. Let it settle into your heart:

"I am raising my children in the grace and truth of Jesus Christ. God has equipped me for this calling. My imperfect efforts are covered by His perfect love. My home is holy ground, and every ordinary moment is an opportunity for eternal impact. I am not alone: God walks with me, and my church family supports me."

Write it on a sticky note. Put it on your bathroom mirror. Speak it over yourself when parenting feels overwhelming.

Why Life-Stage Studies Matter

Here's a truth worth holding onto: God's Word is alive, and it speaks to every season of life. You don't have to force yourself into someone else's journey. He has a word for YOUR journey: right here, right now.
