You Were Never Meant to Do This Alone

Maybe you're reading this from a hospital room. A hotel. A kitchen table at 2am. A break room between shifts. Or maybe you're just someone who has felt, for a long time, like faith was supposed to look a certain way — and you were never quite in the right building at the right time.

Hear this: you are exactly where you are supposed to be.

The Word

"But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth." — Acts 1:8 (NIV)

Reflection

Jesus spoke these words just before He ascended into heaven. His followers were standing there, probably anxious, probably overwhelmed. The disciples had walked with Jesus for three years — they had seen miracles, heard the Sermon on the Mount, watched the resurrection. And yet Jesus did not tell them to go out and do great things on their own strength.

He said: wait. And then: receive.

The Holy Spirit is not a reward for the spiritually mature. He is a gift for every believer who asks — and His power is not confined to a building, a city, or a single culture. Acts 1:8 moves outward from the local (Jerusalem) to the regional (Judea and Samaria) to the global (the ends of the earth). That progression is not an accident. It is the heartbeat of the Gospel: God's love has no walls.

Boundless Online Church exists because of this verse. Wherever you are in the world right now, you are part of that "ends of the earth." You are not outside the reach of the Spirit. You are right in the middle of it.

Application

Today, take two minutes and do something simple: ask.

Ask the Holy Spirit to fill you afresh. Not because you have everything figured out, but because you don't — and He does. Ask Him to make you a witness right where you are. Not somewhere impressive. Right there.

The Spirit moves through willing hearts in ordinary places. Yours counts.
