A Message from FA Memphis
Worship is often misunderstood as a Sunday-morning-only activity, but true biblical worship is a 24/7 commitment of the heart. In Day 36 of our Living a Life of Worship micro-study, we explore how to transition from "singing" worship to "living" worship. By aligning our daily actions, thoughts, and work with God’s will, we transform every moment into a sacred offering.
The Heart of the Matter
Welcome back to our journey through the "Living a Life of Worship" series. If you’ve been following along for the last 35 days, you know that we’ve covered a lot of ground. We’ve talked about the power of praise, the importance of silence, and how to find God in the middle of a storm. But today, Day 36, is about something very specific: consistency.
How do we take the fire we feel during a powerful worship service and carry it into a stressful Tuesday afternoon? How does a caregiver, a late-shift worker, or someone living in a place where they can’t openly practice their faith keep their heart in a state of worship?
Worship isn’t just a song; it’s a stance. It is the intentional decision to place God at the center of everything you do. Whether you are folding laundry, coding software, or sitting in a hospital waiting room, your life can be a "sweet-smelling aroma" to the Lord.
What the Word Says
Let’s look at the scriptures that ground us in this truth. These verses remind us that God is looking for more than just our voices; He is looking for our lives.
Romans 12:1 (NIV):
"Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God: this is your true and proper worship."
Colossians 3:17 (NIV):
"And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him."
Psalm 100:2 (NIV):
"Worship the Lord with gladness; come before him with joyful songs."

Understanding the "Living Sacrifice"
In the Old Testament, a sacrifice was something that was brought to the altar and stayed there. But Paul, writing in Romans, uses a fascinating term: "living sacrifice." A living sacrifice has the ability to crawl off the altar. It takes a daily, sometimes hourly, decision to stay surrendered to God.
At Boundless Online Church, we believe that biblical authority is the foundation of everything we do. The Assemblies of God (AG) doctrine emphasizes that sanctification is an ongoing process. Day 36 is about that process. It’s about the Holy Spirit working within us to refine our character so that our very existence reflects the glory of God.
When we talk about living a life of worship, we are talking about a life empowered by the Holy Spirit. We aren’t doing this in our own strength. We are leaning on the Spirit to give us the grace to be kind when we’re tired, to be honest when it’s difficult, and to be joyful when life is heavy.
Worship for the Global Family
We know our community is spread across the globe. Some of you are reading this in the middle of the night during a break at a factory. Others are family caregivers who haven't had a full night's sleep in weeks. You might feel like you don't have the "right" environment for worship.
The beauty of the Gospel is that Jesus met people exactly where they were: at wells, on dusty roads, and in fishing boats. You don’t need a cathedral to worship. You don’t even need a piano. If you are a shift worker, your workplace is your mission field and your altar. If you are homebound or disabled, your prayer life is a powerful ministry that reaches the throne of God.
We help people meet Jesus and grow in faith online, regardless of their physical location or circumstances. Your "Day 36" might look like a quiet prayer while you wait for a bus, or a moment of gratitude while you prepare a meal.

Practical Ways to Live Day 36
How do we actually do this? Here are a few practical steps to help you maintain a posture of worship throughout your day:
The First Word: Before you check your phone or look at the news, give your first word to God. It doesn’t have to be a long prayer. Simply saying, "Lord, this day is yours," sets the tone for everything that follows.
The "Whatever" Rule: Take Colossians 3:17 literally. Whatever you are doing: whether it's an Excel spreadsheet or changing a diaper: do it as if you are doing it directly for Jesus. This changes the "mundane" into the "miraculous."
Scripture Soaking: Keep a verse in your pocket or on your digital lock screen. When you feel stress rising, return to that truth. This is a form of mental worship, keeping your mind stayed on Him.
Gratitude Breaks: Instead of a coffee break, try a gratitude break. Spend two minutes listing things you are thankful for. Gratitude is the gateway to worship.
The Role of the Holy Spirit
In our AG tradition, we recognize that the Baptism in the Holy Spirit provides us with the power to witness and live a holy life. Worship is a key part of this. The Spirit helps us pray when we don't know the words and helps us worship when our hearts feel heavy.
If you feel like your "worship tank" is empty, ask the Holy Spirit for a fresh infilling today. You don't have to manufacture a feeling. Worship is an act of the will, and the Spirit is your Helper in that act.

Growing Together
We aren't meant to do this alone. Even though we are an online church, community is vital. We invite you to join the conversation in our Bible Study Club where we dive deeper into these daily studies. Sharing your journey with others helps keep the flame of worship alive.
If you are new here and looking for a place to start, visit our Welcome Center. We would love to meet you and hear your story.
Whether you are on Day 1 or Day 36, remember that God isn't looking for perfection; He's looking for a heart that is turned toward Him. Your life is a story that God is writing, and every chapter can be a tribute to His goodness.
A Prayer for Your Day
Heavenly Father, thank You for the gift of this day. We recognize that every breath we take is an opportunity to honor You. We ask that You would transform our perspective today. Help us to see our work, our relationships, and even our struggles as opportunities for worship. Fill us with Your Holy Spirit so that we may have the strength and joy to serve You faithfully. May our lives be a reflection of Your love and grace to everyone we meet. In Jesus' name, Amen.
