Welcome to Day 35 of our Boundless Daily journey.
If you have been following along, you know we’ve covered a lot of ground. We’ve talked about prayer, the Word, and the nature of God. Today, we are stepping into something that can feel a little intimidating at first, but it is actually one of the most natural parts of the Christian life.
We are talking about living as a witness.
When you hear the word "witness," what do you think of?
Maybe you think of a courtroom. A person stands up, puts their hand on a Bible, and promises to tell the truth about what they saw.
Or maybe you think of someone standing on a street corner with a megaphone.
In the context of our faith, being a witness is much simpler and much more beautiful than that. It isn't about having all the answers or being a professional speaker.
Being a witness simply means sharing what you have seen and heard. It’s about telling the story of how Jesus changed your life.
The Power of the Holy Spirit
In the book of Acts, Jesus gave His followers a final instruction before He ascended to heaven. He said, “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth” (Acts 1:8).
Notice the order there. Jesus didn’t say, “Go try really hard to be a witness.”
He said, “You will receive power... and you will be my witnesses.”
At Boundless Online Church, we believe in the Baptism in the Holy Spirit. This is one of the 16 Fundamental Truths we hold dear. This experience isn't just for a feeling; it is for empowerment. The Holy Spirit gives us the boldness and the words we need to share Christ with others.
You don't have to do this in your own strength. Whether you are a shift worker heading into a warehouse at 2:00 AM, a caregiver at a hospice bedside, or someone living in a place where it isn't safe to talk about Jesus openly, the Holy Spirit is with you. He is the one who does the heavy lifting.
Witnessing in the Modern World
We live in a fast-paced, digital age. For many of us, our "neighborhood" includes the people we talk to on social media or the coworkers we see on a screen.
Living as a witness in 2026 looks a bit different than it did forty years ago, but the heart of it remains the same. It starts with kindness.

A person sitting in a modern coffee shop, leaning in and listening intently to a friend, showing kindness and genuine interest during a conversation.
Being a witness often starts with being a good listener.
When you listen to someone’s struggles, their hopes, and their fears, you earn the right to speak into their life. You aren't just looking for a "win" or an argument. You are looking for a soul that needs the same grace you’ve received.
We help people meet Jesus and grow in faith online. This mission extends to every corner of your life. If you’re looking for ways to bridge the gap between your faith and the digital world, you might find some inspiration in our post about 5 unexpected tech tools every modern church should try. These tools aren't just for organizations; they are for individuals who want to stay connected and share their faith effectively.
Your Story is Your Strength
One of the biggest hurdles to witnessing is fear. We fear we won't know the right scripture or that someone will ask a hard theological question we can't answer.
Here is the secret: Nobody can argue with your experience.
If you tell someone, "I used to be filled with anxiety, but since I started following Jesus, I have a peace I can't explain," they might not understand it, but they can't tell you it didn't happen.
Your testimony is the most powerful tool in your belt. You are a witness to the work of God in your own life.
Think about these three simple steps for sharing your story:
What was my life like before Jesus? (Keep it honest and brief.)
How did I meet Jesus? (What changed?)
What is my life like now? (How does His grace sustain you today?)
You don't need a PhD in theology to share those three things. You just need a heart that is grateful for what God has done.
The Global Call
Boundless Online Church is a global community. We know that many of you are reading this from places where physical churches are hard to find. You might be a late-shift worker who can't make it to a Sunday morning service, or you might be navigating a disability that makes leaving the house difficult.
Living as a witness means representing Jesus right where you are.
If you are a caregiver, your witness is your patience and your love for the person you are serving. If you are in a workplace that feels dark or negative, your witness is your integrity and your joy.

A person in a modern office environment, smiling warmly and offering a helping hand to a colleague who looks stressed, representing the light of Christ in a workplace.
Small acts of kindness are often the "pre-evangelism" that opens the door for a deeper conversation. When people see that you are different: that you have a hope that doesn't depend on your circumstances: they will eventually ask why.
As Peter wrote, "But in your hearts revere Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect" (1 Peter 3:15).
Overcoming the "Awkward" Factor
Let’s be real: sometimes it feels awkward to bring up faith.
We don't want to be "that person" who makes everyone uncomfortable at the dinner table. But witnessing doesn't have to be a forced transition.
Try asking questions that go a little deeper. "How are you really doing?" "Is there anything I can pray for you about?"
Even people who don't go to church often appreciate the offer of prayer. It shows them that you care and that you believe in a God who listens.

Practical Steps for This Week
How can you live as a witness this week? Here are a few practical challenges:
Pray for an Opportunity: Start your day by asking the Holy Spirit to open a door for a conversation.
Be Intentionally Kind: Look for someone who is having a rough day and offer a word of encouragement or a small act of service.
Share a Resource: Sometimes it’s easier to share a link than to start a sermon. Invite a friend to listen to the Connected Faith Podcast or watch a Sunday Sermon with you online.
Be Present: Put your phone away when you are talking to people in person. Give them your full attention. This is a rare gift in today's world and it speaks volumes.

Living as a witness is about being a bridge. You are a bridge between a person who needs hope and the God who provides it. You aren't the source of the water; you are just the pipe.
A Community of Witnesses
You aren't doing this alone. We are a digital family, scattered across the globe but united in our mission. We help people meet Jesus and grow in faith online, and you are a vital part of that.
As we continue through this Boundless Daily series, keep looking for ways to let your light shine. You never know who is watching your life and wondering if God is real. Your kindness, your peace, and your story might be exactly what they need to see to believe.
If you have questions about how to share your faith or if you want to dive deeper into these topics, we invite you to explore our Bible studies or join us for our Sunday Live Worship.
We are here to grow with you.
