Boundless Daily: Global Micro-Study - The Gift of Grace

Today we're talking about something that changes everything: grace.

Not just grace as a concept. Grace as a gift. Grace as the foundation of our salvation.

If you're reading this between shifts, during a quiet moment while caring for someone you love, or in a place where following Jesus comes with real risk: this message is for you.

Grace is God's answer to our deepest need.

Let's dive in.

Today's Scripture: Ephesians 2:8-9

"For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith: and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God: not by works, so that no one can boast."

Read that again.

Slowly.

Grace. Faith. Gift. Not works.

These aren't just religious words. They're the DNA of the Gospel message.

What Is Grace?

Grace is God giving us what we don't deserve.

We can't earn it. We can't work for it. We can't be good enough to qualify for it.

Grace is God reaching down when we couldn't reach up.

Think about a true gift. Not something you earn with chores or trade for services. A gift given simply because someone loves you and wants to bless you.

That's grace.

But this isn't a small gift. This is salvation. Freedom from sin. Eternal life with God. A relationship restored.

The Problem We All Share

Here's the reality: every single person has sinned. We've all fallen short of God's perfect standard (Romans 3:23).

That includes the person working the graveyard shift at the hospital. The caregiver changing bedpans at 3 AM. The believer hiding their Bible from hostile neighbors. The executive in the corner office. The student struggling with doubt.

All of us.

Sin isn't just about big, obvious mistakes. It's the gap between who God created us to be and who we actually are. It's choosing our way instead of His way.

And sin has consequences. Romans 6:23 tells us the wages of sin is death: spiritual separation from God.

That's the bad news.

But the same verse continues: "but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord."

The Gift That Changes Everything

Here's the Gospel in its simplest form:

Jesus Christ, God's Son, came to earth, lived a perfect life, died on the cross for our sins, and rose from the dead three days later.

He did what we could never do.

He paid a debt we could never pay.

He bridged a gap we could never cross.

And now He offers salvation as a gift. Not as a reward. Not as a trophy for the spiritually elite. A gift.

Ephesians 2:8-9 makes this crystal clear:

"For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith: and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God: not by works, so that no one can boast."

You don't earn grace by being good enough.

You don't maintain grace by trying hard enough.

You don't lose grace when you stumble.

Grace is God's unearned, undeserved favor poured out on us through Jesus Christ.

How Do We Receive This Gift?

Through faith.

Faith is simply trusting Jesus. Believing that He is who He said He is and that He did what the Bible says He did.

It's not about having perfect theology. It's not about being raised in church or knowing all the right answers.

It's about saying, "Jesus, I believe in You. I trust You. I need You."

Romans 10:9 puts it this way: "If you declare with your mouth, 'Jesus is Lord,' and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved."

That's it.

No complicated formula. No religious checklist. Just faith in Jesus.

For Those in Hard Places

Maybe you're reading this during a break between patients. Or after tucking in someone who can't tuck themselves in anymore.

Maybe you're exhausted from working nights, and your soul feels as tired as your body.

Maybe you're in a country where openly following Jesus could cost you everything.

Listen: God sees you.

And this message: the message of grace: is especially for you.

You don't have to do more to be worthy of God's love. You don't have to clean yourself up before coming to Jesus. You don't have to wait until life gets easier.

Grace meets you right where you are.

The thief on the cross next to Jesus didn't have time to go to church, get baptized, or live a transformed life. He simply said, "Jesus, remember me when you come into your kingdom" (Luke 23:42).

And Jesus responded, "Today you will be with me in paradise" (Luke 23:43).

One moment. One prayer. One act of faith.

That's the power of grace.

What Grace Is NOT

Grace is not permission to live however we want.

Paul addresses this directly in Romans 6:1-2: "What shall we say, then? Shall we go on sinning so that grace may increase? By no means!"

Grace transforms us. It doesn't just forgive us: it changes us.

When we truly encounter God's grace, we don't want to keep sinning. We want to live for the One who died for us.

But here's the key: that transformation is also a work of grace. God gives us His Holy Spirit to help us live the new life He's called us to.

We don't change ourselves and then come to God. We come to God, and He changes us.

AG Fundamental Truth #5: The Salvation of Man

The Assemblies of God describes the salvation of man this way: Man's only hope of redemption is through the shed blood of Jesus Christ, the Son of God.

Conditions to Salvation:

Salvation is received through repentance toward God and faith toward the Lord Jesus Christ. By the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit, being justified by grace through faith, man becomes an heir of God according to the hope of eternal life.

Evidence of Salvation:

The inward evidence of salvation is the direct witness of the Spirit (Romans 8:16). The outward evidence to all men is a life of righteousness and true holiness (Ephesians 4:24; Titus 2:12).

This is the truth we stand on. This is the message we carry to the world.

Your Next Step

If you've never trusted Jesus as your Savior, today can be the day.

You don't need special words. You don't need to be in a church building. You don't need someone else to pray for you first.

Just talk to God.

Tell Him you believe in Jesus. Tell Him you're sorry for your sins. Ask Him to save you.

He will.

Because that's what grace does.

If you've already trusted Jesus, let this truth fill you with fresh joy today. You are saved by grace. You are loved beyond measure. You are secure in Christ.

And if you know someone who needs to hear this message, share it. Send them this post. Tell them about Jesus.

Grace is too good to keep to ourselves.
