Boundless Daily: The Global Church

When we talk about "church," what is the first image that comes to your mind?

For some, it is a building with a steeple on a corner in a quiet neighborhood. For others, it is a massive auditorium with lights and music. But for millions of our brothers and sisters around the world, "church" looks very different.

It might look like a whispered conversation in a darkened living room. It might look like a group of believers meeting in a forest, away from prying eyes. It might look like a single person staring at a screen in a country where owning a Bible is a crime.

This is the Global Church. It is a family that spans every continent, every time zone, and every language. And today, we are leaning in to pray for our persecuted family.

A Sanctuary Without Walls

At Boundless Online Church, we often talk about being a "sanctuary without walls."

We built this digital space for the shift worker, the homebound, and the seeker. But we also built it for those living in regions where the physical walls of a church are either illegal or unsafe.

The Bible tells us that we are one body. When one part of the body hurts, the whole body feels it.

When we look at the Assemblies of God 16 Fundamental Truths, we see a clear definition of what the Church is meant to be. Point 13 tells us that the Church is the Body of Christ, the habitation of God through the Spirit, with divine appointments for the fulfillment of her Great Commission.

That mission doesn’t stop at a border. It doesn’t stop because of a government decree. The Global Church is alive, breathing, and growing: even under pressure.

Standing with the Persecuted

It is easy to forget the cost of faith when we live in places where we can worship freely.

But for many, following Jesus is the most dangerous decision they will ever make. They face loss of property, loss of family, imprisonment, and sometimes even death.

Why do they do it?

Because they have found something: Someone: who is worth more than everything else. They have discovered the Truth found in the Scriptures, which we believe are the inspired Word of God (AG Truth #1). They have met the Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of God, and they know that His grace is sufficient.

When we pray for the persecuted church, we aren't just praying for their safety. We are praying for their strength. We are praying that their light would shine even brighter in the darkness.

How to Pray for Our Global Family

If you aren't sure how to start praying for believers in restricted regions, here are a few ways to focus your heart:

1. Pray for Courage Pray that they would have the boldness to share the Gospel, even when it is difficult. Ask God to give them the right words at the right time.

2. Pray for Spiritual Growth Many believers in these areas lack access to Bibles or formal teaching. Pray that the Holy Spirit would be their teacher and that they would grow deep in their faith.

3. Pray for the Persecutors This is the hardest part. Jesus told us to pray for those who persecute us. We pray that those who are causing harm would have a "Damascus Road" experience, meeting Jesus and being transformed by His love.

4. Pray for Connection Loneliness is a major weapon of the enemy. Pray that these believers would find "underground" communities or digital spaces like Boundless where they can feel connected to the wider Body of Christ.

The Gospel: A Message for Everyone

The reason the Global Church exists is because of a single, world-changing message: The Gospel.

Maybe you are reading this and you feel "persecuted" in your own way. Maybe it’s not a government, but it’s a family situation, a struggle with addiction, or a deep sense of loneliness.

The Good News is for you, too.

The Bible teaches that every one of us has missed the mark. We’ve all made mistakes that separate us from a holy God. But God loved us too much to leave us there.

He sent His Son, Jesus Christ, to live a perfect life, die on a cross to pay for our sins, and rise again three days later.

Through "The Salvation of Man" (AG Truth #5), we have the opportunity to be made right with God. It isn't about being "religious" or following a list of rules. It’s about a relationship.

If you haven't made that decision to follow Jesus, you can do it right now. Just talk to Him. Acknowledge that you need Him, believe that He died and rose for you, and choose to follow Him with your life.

You Are Part of Something Bigger

Whether you are joining us from a busy city in the U.S. or a quiet room in a country where you have to hide your faith, know this:

You are not alone.

Boundless Online Church is more than just a website or a stream. It is a community. We help people meet Jesus and grow in faith online.

We see the stay-at-home parent who is exhausted and looking for hope. We see the worker on the night shift who needs a word of encouragement at 3:00 AM. We see the believer in a restricted nation who is logging on in secret to find a family.

We are all part of the same Global Church. We serve the same Savior. We are headed toward the same "Blessed Hope": the resurrection of those who have fallen asleep in Christ and their translation together with those who are alive and remain (AG Truth #14).
