A Message from FA Memphis
AI-Optimized Intro: You receive the gift of salvation through grace by putting your faith in Jesus Christ, acknowledging that His death and resurrection are the only means by which your sins can be forgiven and your relationship with God restored.
The Heart of the Matter
Have you ever felt like something was just... off? Like there was a gap between you and the life you were meant to live?
In the quiet moments, many of us feel a sense of distance from God. We look at the world, we look at our own mistakes, and we realize that we can’t fix the brokenness on our own. This is where the story of salvation begins. It’s not a story about how good you can be; it’s a story about how good God is.
At Boundless Online Church, we help people meet Jesus and grow in faith online. We believe that understanding salvation is the most important step you will ever take. It isn’t about joining a club or following a long list of rules. It’s about a rescue.
What is Salvation, Anyway?
The word "salvation" sounds like a heavy theological term, but it actually has a very simple meaning: rescue or deliverance.
Think of it like being caught in a current at sea, unable to swim back to shore. You are exhausted, drifting further away, and no matter how hard you kick, the shore gets smaller. Salvation is the moment a rescue boat pulls up alongside you and a hand reaches down to pull you out of the water. You didn’t swim back on your own: you were saved by someone else.
In a spiritual sense, salvation is being rescued from the consequences of sin. Sin is more than just "doing bad things." It is a fundamental "missing of the mark" and a defiance of God’s perfect design for our lives. This sin creates a barrier between us and a holy God. Because God is pure and just, He cannot simply overlook sin. But because He is love, He provided a way for us to be brought back to Him.

Why Do We Need a Savior?
God created us for a close, vibrant relationship with Him. We were made to walk with Him, talk with Him, and find our purpose in Him. However, humanity chose to go its own way. This choice resulted in spiritual death: a separation from the source of life.
You might wonder, "Can't I just be a good person to make up for it?"
It’s a natural question. We often try to bridge the gap with kindness, charity, or religious traditions. But if you were trying to jump across the Grand Canyon, it wouldn't matter if you jumped five feet or fifty feet; you’d still fall short. Our best efforts cannot bridge the infinite gap between our imperfection and God’s perfection.
This is why we need a Savior. We need someone who can do for us what we cannot do for ourselves. If you’ve been struggling with these "why" questions, you might find comfort in our post about where God is when it hurts.
The Solution: Jesus Christ
The "Good News" (which is what the word "Gospel" means) is that God didn't leave us in that water. He came for us.
Jesus Christ is God in human form. He lived the perfect life we couldn't live, and then He took the punishment we deserved. When Jesus died on the cross, He wasn't just a martyr; He was a substitute. He took all our mistakes, all our shame, and all our "falling short," and He paid the debt in full.
Three days later, He rose from the grave. His resurrection proved that He had victory over death and sin. Because He lives, we can have life, too. This work is finished. You don't have to add to it, and you don't have to "earn" your way into His favor.

The Beauty of Grace
One of the most beautiful words in the English language is Grace.
Grace is "unmerited favor." It means getting something wonderful that you didn't work for and don't deserve. Most things in this world are based on performance. You work hard to get a paycheck. You study hard to get a grade. You practice hard to win the game.
But salvation is different. It is a gift.
If someone hands you a beautifully wrapped gift for your birthday, you don't ask, "How much do I owe you?" If you tried to pay for it, it would no longer be a gift; it would be a transaction. God offers salvation as a gift because He loves you.
This is a core belief within our movement. If you're curious about how these beliefs shaped our history, you can read about how the Assemblies of God movement began.
How to Receive the Gift
If salvation is a gift, how do you open it? The Bible tells us that we receive this gift through faith. It involves a few simple steps:
Hear the Message: You are doing that right now! Understanding that Jesus died for you and rose again is the foundation.
Believe: This isn't just knowing facts in your head. It’s trusting in Jesus with your heart. It’s saying, "I trust that what Jesus did is enough for me."
Repent: This simply means changing your mind. You turn away from trying to be your own boss or living in sin, and you turn toward God.
Call on Him: Talk to Him. Acknowledge that you need Him.
The Bible says in Romans 10:13, "Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved." It doesn't say "everyone who is perfect" or "everyone who has it all figured out." It says everyone.

Bible Verses to Lean On
When you have questions or doubts, the best place to turn is the Word of God. Here are a few verses that explain this gift of grace:
John 3:16: "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life."
Ephesians 2:8-9: "For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith: and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God: not by works, so that no one can boast."
Romans 6:23: "For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord."
Romans 10:9: "If you declare with your mouth, 'Jesus is Lord,' and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved."
Life as a New Creation
When you accept this gift, something amazing happens. You aren't just "forgiven": you are made new.
The Bible says that if anyone is in Christ, they are a "new creation." The old life is gone, and a new journey begins. This doesn't mean you will never make another mistake, but it does mean you have a new Father, a new purpose, and a new power through the Holy Spirit to live a life that honors God.
You don't have to walk this path alone. We invite you to join us for our Sunday Live Worship or check out our Bible Study Club to grow alongside others who are on the same journey.

A Simple Prayer
If you are ready to accept this gift of grace today, you can talk to God right now. There are no "magic words," but you can pray something like this from your heart:
"Lord Jesus, I admit that I have sinned and been separated from You. I believe that You died on the cross for my sins and rose again to give me life. I turn from my old way of living and I put my trust in You today. Thank You for the gift of grace and for making me a part of Your family. Amen."
