There is profound joy in serving others because it aligns our hearts with the sacrificial love of Jesus. As we give of our time and energy to meet the needs of those around us, the Holy Spirit fills us with a sense of purpose and fulfillment that cannot be found in selfish pursuit, reminding us that we are part of something greater than ourselves.
“Even the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve” (Mark 10:45). Serving others is the primary way we follow the example of our Savior.
“It is more blessed to give than to receive” (Acts 20:35). The blessing of service is an internal joy that overflows from a heart focused on others.
Service is the antidote to loneliness. When you focus on the needs of others, you often find that your own heart is being healed and gently reconnected.
Lord, show me where I can serve today. Let the joy of helping others be my strength and my reflection of Your boundless love. Amen.
