A Message from FA Memphis
Raising a family in today’s world feels a bit like navigating a ship through a digital storm. Screens are everywhere, and the noise of the internet can often drown out the quiet whispers of faith. But as parents, we have a unique calling. God’s design for the family isn't just about survival; it’s about growth, connection, and passing down a legacy of faith to the next generation.
At Boundless Online Church, we believe that technology isn't the enemy of the family. Instead, when used with intention, it can be a powerful bridge that connects your home to the heart of God. Leading your family in faith doesn’t have to mean perfect family altars or hour-long sermons at the dinner table. Sometimes, it’s about meeting your kids exactly where they are: on their devices, in their group chats, and in the digital spaces they inhabit every day.
Here are five practical, simple ways you can lead your family in faith digitally.
1. Transform Screen Time into Sacred Time
We’ve all seen it: the "zombie stare" when kids (and adults) are glued to a screen. But what if that screen became a window into a Bible story? One of the most effective ways to lead your family is to curate the content they consume.
Instead of just letting the algorithm decide what your children watch, take the lead. Send Bible story videos or short devotionals directly to their devices. When they see a link from Mom or Dad, it carries weight. You can pair these videos with a simple question: "What was the bravest thing the person in this story did?"
By providing at-home resources through digital channels, you make faith engagement practical. It doesn't feel like a chore; it feels like part of their daily routine. You can find a wealth of encouraging content on our Media Page to get started.

2. Use Texting as a Tool for Connection
The car ride to soccer practice or the fifteen minutes before bed can be chaotic. Sometimes, the most profound spiritual conversations don’t happen face-to-face: they happen over text.
Using texting apps like Remind or even just your family’s group chat can serve as a powerful conversation starter. Try texting a "Question of the Day" to your spouse and children. It could be something as simple as, "Where did you see God working today?" or "How can I pray for you before your big test?"
This method is reliable. Unlike a physical worksheet that gets lost at the bottom of a backpack, a text message reaches your family when they are already gathered or even when they are apart. It makes faith discussions feel natural rather than forced. It shows your children that God isn't just someone we talk about on Sundays; He is part of our everyday digital dialogue.
3. Redeem the Digital Playground
Gaming is a massive part of the modern childhood experience. Rather than fighting it, why not redeem it? There are incredible Christian gaming platforms: like TruPlay or Superbook Kids: that provide ad-free, Bible-based interactive experiences.
These platforms are designed to be safe environments where children can explore biblical truths through play. When you encourage your kids to use these tools, you are teaching them that their faith is relevant in every area of their lives: even in their downtime.
As parents, we are called to be "Watchmen" over our homes. By choosing tech that aligns with Assemblies of God values and sound doctrine, we protect our children's hearts while allowing them to enjoy the benefits of modern technology. It’s about being wise stewards of the digital tools at our disposal.

4. Model Intentionality on Social Media
Our children are watching how we use social media. If they see us using it only for mindless scrolling or heated arguments, that’s what they will emulate. But if they see us using our platforms to share encouragement, Scripture, and biblical ideas, they learn that social media can be a light in a dark world.
Position your own social media presence as a connection point. Share a verse that moved you or a quote from a recent blog post that helped you through a tough day.
When we use digital platforms to reflect the character of Christ, we model what it looks like to live out the Great Commission in a digital age. We aren't just consumers; we are creators of hope. This is a vital part of the Community & Growth we strive for at Boundless.
5. Lean into Digital Community Together
Leading your family in faith doesn't mean you have to go it alone. One of the greatest gifts of the digital age is the ability to connect with a global community of believers from the comfort of your home.
Host a "digital family night" where you join an online Bible study or watch a live-streamed event together. Use the interactive features: the chat, the emojis, the polls: to engage with the content as a family. If you're looking for a place to start, our Bible Study Club is a great way to connect with others who are on the same journey.
Participating in online ministry helps your children see that they are part of something much bigger than themselves. They are part of a global movement of people meeting Jesus and growing in faith online. It breaks down the walls of isolation and builds a foundation of community that can last a lifetime.

Leading with Grace and Truth
In the Assemblies of God, we hold fast to the belief that the Bible is our ultimate authority and that the Holy Spirit empowers us to live holy lives. This applies to our digital lives just as much as our physical ones.
Parents, don't feel pressured to be "tech experts." You just need to be present. God has given you the influence and the mandate to lead your children. Whether you are sharing a link to a Daily Devotional or simply praying for them via text, your efforts matter.
God’s design for the family is beautiful and resilient. It can withstand the pressures of the digital age when it is anchored in the Truth of His Word. Let’s commit to using these digital tools to build homes where Christ is the center and where every family member feels welcomed, loved, and encouraged to grow.
