A Message from FA Memphis
Most of us spend a huge chunk of our lives at work. Whether you are clocking into a hospital shift, sitting in a corporate office, managing a construction site, or working from your kitchen table, your workplace is more than just where you earn a paycheck. For those of us following Jesus, the workplace is a primary mission field.
It’s where we interact with people who might never step foot inside a church. It’s where our character is tested under pressure. And it’s where we have the unique opportunity to show the world what the love of Christ looks like in real-time.
At Boundless Online Church, we believe that faith shouldn't be tucked away on Monday morning. We help people meet Jesus and grow in faith online, and that growth should spill over into every conference call and breakroom conversation.
Redefining Work as Worship
One of the biggest hurdles we face is the "secular-sacred divide." We often think that "spiritual" things only happen when we’re praying or reading the Bible, while work is just something we "have" to do. But the Bible tells us something different.
In Colossians 3:23, it says, "Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters."
When you shift your perspective to see your boss or your clients as people you are serving on behalf of God, everything changes. Your work becomes an act of worship. Your spreadsheets, your patient care, and your customer service are all offerings to Him. When we work with excellence, we reflect the Creator’s own excellence.

Integrity: The Silent Sermon
You’ve probably heard the saying that you might be the only "Bible" some people ever read. In the workplace, this is incredibly true. People are watching how you handle a mistake. They’re watching to see if you join in on the office gossip or if you’re the person who speaks life into others.
Integrity is doing the right thing even when no one is looking, or when everyone else is taking the easy way out. It’s about being honest on your timecard and being fair in your dealings.

Are you patient when a deadline is missed? Are you kind to the person everyone else avoids? Are you a person of peace when the office is in a panic?

We need the Holy Spirit to help us keep our cool during a stressful meeting and to give us the right words to say when a coworker is hurting. Being a light looks different depending on where you are. Consider these examples of how faith manifests in different sectors:
In Healthcare: It’s providing dignity and prayerful care to patients who feel like just another number. It’s staying resilient and compassionate even during a double shift.
In Tech and Innovation: It’s building tools that serve people rather than exploit them. It’s bringing ethics and biblical values into conversations about data and AI.
In Manual Labor: It’s doing the job right the first time because you know you’re working for a higher Authority. It’s looking out for the safety and well-being of your crew.

Practical Ways to Shine Tomorrow
If you want to start being a light at work tomorrow morning, here are a few simple, practical steps:
Pray for your colleagues by name. Before you walk through the door or log on, ask God to show you who needs a word of encouragement today.
Be the first to listen and the last to complain. A positive attitude is a rare and beautiful thing in many workplaces.
Excellence is your platform. Be so good at what you do that people wonder what drives you.
Create a welcoming space. Whether it's your physical desk or your digital presence, make it a place where people feel safe and respected.

When the Light Feels Dim
Let’s be real: some workplaces are toxic. Some environments are hostile to faith. It can be exhausting to be the only person trying to bring peace and integrity to a broken system.
If you are feeling burned out, remember that you aren't carrying the light on your own strength. Jesus is the Light; you are just the vessel. Stay connected to the Source. Take your breaks to breathe and reconnect with the Lord.
We also know that many of our Boundless community members work non-traditional hours, night shifts, long hauls, or caregiving roles. We see you. Your work matters to the Kingdom of God, and His light shines just as brightly at 3:00 AM as it does at noon.
Community and Growth Together
Growth doesn't happen in a vacuum. We need each other to stay encouraged. That’s why we offer digital video and photo training for those who want to use their professional skills for the ministry, and even simple things like a spiral notebook to jot down what God is teaching you during your lunch break.
Your professional life is not a distraction from your spiritual life. It is the classroom where your faith is refined and the stage where God’s glory is displayed.
Let’s commit to being people of integrity, excellence, and kindness. Let’s be the kind of workers that people want to be around, not just because we’re good at our jobs, but because there is something different about the way we love.
A Prayer for Your Work Week
Lord, thank You for the gift of work. Thank You for the skills and the opportunities You’ve given me. This week, I ask that You would help me to see my workplace through Your eyes. Give me the strength to act with integrity, the wisdom to speak with kindness, and the heart to serve my colleagues as if I were serving You. Let Your light shine through me so that others might see Your goodness. Amen.
