A Message from FA Memphis
The Great Commission isn’t a suggestion for a few; it’s a mission for every believer. Assemblies of God Fundamental Truth #10 highlights that the Church is God’s agency for evangelizing the world and demonstrating His compassion. In our digital age, "the world" includes the internet. Living out this mission online means using our platforms to share Jesus, build community, and show Christ-like love to a global, connected audience.
Bible Verses
Matthew 28:19-20 (NIV) "Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age."
Mark 16:15 (NIV) "He said to them, 'Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation.'"
Acts 1:8 (NIV) "But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth."
Explanation
When we talk about the "Great Commission," it’s easy to picture a missionary with a backpack trekking through a remote jungle or someone standing on a street corner with a megaphone. While those are vital ways to share the Gospel, the mission is much broader. According to the Assemblies of God Fundamental Truth #10, the Church exists for a four-fold purpose: to be an agency for evangelizing the world, a corporate body for worship, a channel for building up believers, and a people who demonstrate God’s love and compassion.
At Boundless Online Church, we believe that "all the world" absolutely includes the digital world. The internet isn’t just a tool; it’s a mission field. It’s where people go when they are lonely, when they have questions they’re too afraid to ask out loud, and when they are searching for a hope that the physical world hasn’t given them.
The Digital Roman Road
Centuries ago, the Romans built a massive network of roads that allowed the early Christians to travel and spread the Gospel further and faster than ever before. Today, fiber-optic cables and satellite signals are our Roman roads. We can reach someone in a hospital bed, a late-shift worker on a break, or a seeker in a country where Bibles are hard to find: all with a single post or a kind comment.

Every Believer is a Missionary
You might think, "I’m not a pastor, and I don’t have a degree in theology. How can I live out the Great Commission?"
Living out Truth #10 starts with the realization that you are an "agency of God." If you have experienced the life-changing love of Jesus, you are qualified to tell someone else about it. Online, this looks like sharing a verse that helped you through a tough day, offering to pray for someone in a comment section, or simply being a voice of kindness in a world that is often filled with digital noise and conflict.
We are called to be witnesses. A witness doesn't have to be an expert; they just have to tell what they’ve seen and heard. When you share how God has worked in your life: whether it’s finding peace during a shattering time in the city or seeing a small spark of kindness grow: you are fulfilling the mission.
Worship and Community Beyond Walls
The Church is also a "corporate body in which man may worship God." Many people assume worship only happens in a physical building on Sunday morning. But for the person who is homebound, the parent with a sick child, or the person living in an unsafe area, online programs are their sanctuary.
When you engage with others in an online Bible study, you are helping create that corporate body. You are proving that the Church is not a building: it’s a people. By participating in these digital spaces, you help provide a "house of prayer" for those who might not have one nearby.

Building Up the Body
The third part of our mission is to be a channel for building a body of saints being perfected in the image of Jesus. This is about growth. We don't just want people to meet Jesus; we want them to grow in faith.
You can live this out by encouraging other believers online. Maybe it's joining a Men's Bible Study or helping a newcomer in the Welcome Center. When you share resources like the Boundless Daily Word, you’re providing the "spiritual food" that helps others grow. We are all works in progress, and the digital space allows us to sharpen one another 24/7.
Demonstrating Compassion
Finally, we are called to be a people who demonstrate God’s love and compassion for all the world. This is perhaps the most visible part of the Great Commission online. The internet can be a harsh place. Being a follower of Jesus online means choosing empathy over an argument. It means looking for the person who is hurting and reaching out.

Compassion is practical. It’s helping someone understand what it means to belong or explaining how faith can help reduce the pain in our communities. It’s about showing the world that God’s love isn’t just a concept: it’s a living, breathing reality that changes how we treat people, even through a screen.
Why the "Evergreen" Faith?
We call this series "Evergreen Faith" because the mission doesn't change. Whether it's the year 33 AD or 2026, the call to "go and make disciples" remains. The methods change, the technology evolves, but the need for a Savior is constant.
You have a unique opportunity. You have a "pulpit" in your pocket. Every time you log on, you have a choice to make. Will you just be another user, or will you be a missionary? Living out the Great Commission online doesn't require a platform of millions; it just requires a heart that is willing to say, "Here am I, Lord. Send me: to this thread, to this group, to this friend."
Prayer
Heavenly Father, thank You for the privilege of being part of Your mission. Thank You for the technology that allows us to reach across oceans and time zones to share Your love. Holy Spirit, give us the boldness to be witnesses in the digital world. Help us to speak with grace, to act with compassion, and to always point others back to Jesus. Let our online presence be a light that leads people to You. Use us to build Your Church and to reach the ends of the earth. Amen.
