Walking into a new church for the first time can feel like stepping into the unknown, but at FA Memphis, we want you to feel like you’ve finally come home.
Looking for a Spirit-filled church in Memphis?
If you are searching for a Spirit-filled church in Memphis, expect a warm welcome, vibrant worship, and Bible-centered teaching at FA Memphis. We gather every Sunday to encounter God’s presence, strengthen families, and serve the 901 community. Whether you are local or joining via Boundless, you belong here.
Finding a church that balances deep biblical roots with the active, vibrant power of the Holy Spirit is a journey many in the Memphis area are on. Whether you live in Cordova, Bartlett, Arlington, or downtown Memphis, the search for a spiritual home is about more than just a seat in a pew, it’s about finding a family.
At First Assembly Memphis, we are a multigenerational, Spirit-led community dedicated to the Gospel of Jesus Christ. If you’re considering joining us this Sunday, here is a transparent look at what you can expect from the moment you pull into our parking lot.
The Morning Warmth: Coffee and Connection
Your Sunday morning begins before the music starts. Many of our local 901 family arrives early to catch up at The Good Cup, our onsite coffee shop. It’s a place where handshakes turn into hugs and where newcomers are greeted not as strangers, but as guests of honor.
We believe that community is the bedrock of spiritual growth. Before the main service, we host Life Groups at 9:30 AM. These are smaller, conversational Bible studies where you can ask questions, share life, and build relationships that last far beyond Sunday morning.

The Worship Experience: Spirit and Truth
At 10:30 AM, our main worship service begins in the sanctuary. As an Assemblies of God congregation, our worship is Pentecostal and expressive. You will see people raising their hands in praise, hear a mix of contemporary worship and powerful choir anthems, and feel an atmosphere charged with the presence of God.
What does "Spirit-filled" mean?
Definition: Baptism in the Holy Spirit An experience following salvation where the believer is empowered by the Holy Spirit for life and service. This often includes speaking in tongues as the initial physical evidence, as seen in the book of Acts, and results in a deepened passion for prayer and witnessing.
Our goal isn't just to "put on a service." We gather to create space for the Holy Spirit to move, heal, and speak. Pastor Johnson brings messages that are rooted deeply in Scripture, yet practical enough to apply to your Monday morning at work or school.

For Your Family: Safety and Spiritual Growth
We know that for parents in the 901, the safety and spiritual well-being of their children are top priorities. That’s why KidsZone is more than just childcare, it’s a ministry.
From six weeks old through 5th grade, your children will be in a secure environment with a state-of-the-art check-in system. While you are in the sanctuary, they are experiencing their own Spirit-filled service with high-energy worship, interactive games, and age-appropriate Bible teaching. We want your kids to leave church asking, "Can we come back next week?"

No Pressure, Just Presence
One of the most common questions we hear is: "What should I wear?" In Memphis, we’re a "come as you are" kind of family. You’ll see people in suits and ties right next to people in jeans and t-shirts. We care about your heart, not your wardrobe.
As a guest, you are never singled out or made to feel uncomfortable. We invite you to stop by our Welcome Center after the service. We have a small gift for you there because we are truly glad you chose to spend your morning with us.

Global Connection through Boundless
Not everyone who calls FA Memphis "home" lives in the 901. Through Boundless Online Church, we serve a global community of believers who may be homebound, traveling, or living in areas without a healthy local church. Our online campus isn't just a broadcast; it’s a bridge to community, offering live chat, prayer, and digital discipleship for anyone, anywhere.
Take Your Next Step
Whether you’ve been following Jesus for decades or you’re just starting to ask questions about faith, there is a place for you here. God is doing something remarkable in the heart of Memphis, and we would love for you to be a part of it.
