Yes, you absolutely need a personal encounter with Jesus Christ to experience true, lasting life change. While religious traditions and church attendance are valuable tools, they cannot replace the living power of a direct relationship with the Savior. A personal encounter moves you from knowing about God to actually knowing Him, shifting your identity from a person trying to be good to a person made new by grace. Hey y'all, let’s be real for a minute. Right here in Memphis and all across the globe, people are searching for something that actually sticks. We try the gym, the new job, the self-help books, and sometimes even a little bit of "religion" to see if it’ll change our perspective. But the bottom line is this: habits might change your schedule, but only Jesus can change your heart.
A personal encounter isn't always a blinding light on a road like it was for Paul in Acts 9. For some of us, it’s a quiet realization in the middle of a difficult night. This is the process where God takes the "gold" of who you are and puts it into the heat to burn away the impurities, the pride, the bitterness, the old habits that keep you stuck.
It’s not always comfortable. In fact, it often hurts. But that fire is meant to purify, not destroy. When you’re in the middle of a struggle and you feel the heat, remember that the Refiner is sitting right there with you. He’s making sure that when you come out on the other side, you reflect His image clearly.

One of the greatest results of a real encounter with Jesus is a newfound strength. We live in a world that constantly pressures us to bow down to its standards, its morals, and its fleeting trends. But when you’ve met the King of Kings, you find that you don't have to bow to anyone else.
