A Message from FA Memphis
Hey there! Welcome back to our daily walk. We are on Day 38 of our journey together, and today we’re diving into a topic that is the very backbone of the Christian life: integrity.
If you’ve been following along with our community here at Boundless Online Church, you know we’re all about making faith practical. We aren't just looking for head knowledge; we’re looking for heart transformation that shows up in our hands and feet. Integrity is exactly where that happens.
In the simplest terms, integrity is the integration of your outer actions with your inner values. It’s making sure that the person people see on the outside is the exact same person that God sees on the inside.
The Heart of Wholeness
The word "integrity" actually comes from the same root as the word "integer." In math, an integer is a whole number, not a fraction. When we live with integrity, we aren't "fractioned" off. We aren't one person at church, another person at work, and a completely different person when we’re scrolling through social media late at night.
In the Assemblies of God tradition, we talk a lot about "Holy Character." This isn't about being perfect by our own strength. It’s about a life empowered by the Holy Spirit that seeks to reflect the nature of Jesus in every corner of our existence.
Proverbs 11:3 tells us, "The integrity of the upright guides them, but the unfaithful are destroyed by their duplicity."
When we lack integrity, we’re essentially living a double life. That duplicity creates a constant internal friction. It’s exhausting to try and keep track of which "version" of yourself you’re supposed to be in different rooms. But when you are whole, when you are an "integer", there is a deep, settled peace that comes with it.

It’s Built in the Small Moments
Most of us think that our integrity will be tested in some massive, cinematic moment, like being offered a million dollars to betray a friend. But the truth is, integrity is a muscle that is built in the small, boring, everyday moments that no one else sees.
It’s about:
Doing what you said you would do, even if it’s inconvenient.
Returning the extra change when a cashier makes a mistake.
Being honest about why you were late instead of making up a "valid" excuse.
Refusing to participate in office gossip, even when it feels like the only way to fit in.
If we don't practice integrity in the small things, we won't have the strength to stand when the big tests come. We see this principle throughout the Bible. Think of Joseph in the house of Potiphar. He had integrity when he was a slave, and he had integrity when he was the second most powerful man in Egypt. The environment changed, but his character stayed the same because it was rooted in his relationship with God.
Consistency of Character
One of the beautiful things about the Boundless Online Church community is that we are global. We have brothers and sisters joining us from different time zones, different cultures, and even places where it isn't always safe to openly share their faith.
Regardless of where you are, your character is your greatest witness. People might argue with your theology, but it’s very hard for them to argue with a life lived with consistent integrity.
Living with integrity means being the same person regardless of who is watching or what benefits you might gain by compromising. It’s about honoring your commitments to yourself, to others, and most importantly, to the Lord.
If you’re feeling a little "fractioned" today, don't let shame weigh you down. The Holy Spirit is our Helper. He is the one who convicts us, yes, but He is also the one who empowers us to change.

Practical Exercises for Today
How do we actually start building this "muscle" today? Here are four practical things you can do right now to check your integrity levels and start growing.
1. Run a Daily Integrity Test Take a moment at the end of your day to reflect. Ask yourself: "Was there a moment today where I was tempted to 'fake it'?" or "Where did I choose comfort over the honest choice?" This isn't about beating yourself up; it’s about building awareness so you can make a different choice tomorrow.
2. Avoid the "White Lies" We often think small lies are harmless. We tell someone "I’m five minutes away" when we haven't even left the house. We give insincere compliments just to smooth things over. Challenge yourself today to be strictly honest. If you catch yourself in a small lie, admit it immediately. "Actually, I’m sorry, I just realized I wasn't being totally honest: I’m still at the house." It feels awkward at first, but it builds incredible trust.
3. Track Your Commitments Integrity begins with self-respect. If you tell yourself you’re going to spend 10 minutes in prayer, or that you’re going to finish a task by noon, do everything in your power to make it happen. When we break promises to ourselves, we erode our own sense of integrity.
4. Admit Mistakes and Move Forward One of the hallmarks of a person of integrity isn't that they never mess up: it’s that they are the first to admit it when they do. Instead of defending your mistake or covering it up, own it. "I messed up, I’m sorry, and here is how I’m going to fix it." This is what the Bible calls repentance in action.
The Digital Witness
In our digital age, integrity is more important than ever. It’s so easy to curate a "perfect" version of our lives online while our real lives are in shambles. At Boundless, we want to encourage you to use your digital footprint as a tool for God’s glory.
Whether you’re engaging on our Prayer Wall or listening to the God's Balancing Act Podcast, let your interactions be marked by the same honesty and grace you would show in person.

A Prayer for Integrity
Let’s take a moment to talk to the Father about this.
Lord, thank You for Your Word which guides us. We thank You that You are a God of truth and that there is no shadow of turning in You. We ask that Your Holy Spirit would search our hearts today. Reveal any areas where we have become "fractioned": where our actions don't match our faith. Give us the courage to be honest in the small things. Help us to build a life of integrity that points others toward You. We want to be whole people, consistent and steady, reflecting Your light to a world that needs to see the real Jesus. In His name we pray, Amen.
Next Steps
Living a life of integrity is a journey, not a destination. It’s a daily choice to follow the leading of the Spirit.
