Welcome back to Day 2 of The Boundless Daily.
If you're reading this on a night shift break, during a quiet caregiving moment, or somewhere you can't get to a physical church, you're exactly who we're writing for.
Today we're talking about the One True God.
This is AG Fundamental Truth #2, and it matters more than you might think.
Because knowing who God is changes everything about how you connect with Him.
One God. Not Many.
Let's start simple.
Christianity teaches there is one God.
Not multiple gods competing for your attention.
Not a distant force.
One God who created everything, knows everything, and is present everywhere.
This is called monotheism, the belief in one God.
It's what sets Christianity apart from religions that worship many gods, and it's the foundation of everything we believe.
The Bible is crystal clear about this.
In Deuteronomy 6:4, God declares: "Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one."
Jesus Himself affirmed this truth when He quoted this same verse in Mark 12:29.
One God.
That's where it all starts.

But Here's Where It Gets Beautiful
That one God exists in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
This is what we call the Trinity.
And yes, it's a mystery.
We're not going to pretend we can fully explain how God can be one and three at the same time.
Theologians have wrestled with this for centuries.
But here's what we do know:
God the Father is the Creator, the ultimate authority, the source of all life.
God the Son is Jesus Christ, who came to earth, lived among us, died for our sins, and rose again.
God the Holy Spirit is the active presence of God with us today, guiding, empowering, and comforting believers.
These three persons share the same divine nature.
They're not three separate gods.
They're three expressions of the same God: fully God, fully unified, fully perfect.
Think of it this way: the sun has light, heat, and energy. Three distinct expressions, but one sun.
It's not a perfect analogy, but it helps.
The Trinity isn't some abstract doctrine created by church councils.
It's how God has revealed Himself in Scripture from beginning to end.
God Doesn't Change
Here's something else you need to know about the One True God:
He doesn't change.
Hebrews 13:8 says, "Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever."
Malachi 3:6 says, "I the Lord do not change."
James 1:17 calls God "the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow due to change."
Why does this matter?
Because everything else in life shifts.
Your job changes.
Your health changes.
Relationships come and go.
The world feels unstable, especially if you're working odd hours, living in uncertainty, or caring for someone whose condition is declining.
But God?
He's the same today as He was 2,000 years ago.
His love doesn't fade.
His promises don't expire.
His character doesn't shift based on trends or opinions.
You can count on Him when nothing else feels solid.

A God Who Knows Your Name
Now here's where it gets personal.
This one, unchanging God isn't distant or disconnected.
He's deeply personal.
He knows you.
Not just your name: He knows your struggles, your loneliness, your fears, your hopes.
Psalm 139:1–3 says:
"O Lord, you have searched me and known me! You know when I sit down and when I rise up; you discern my thoughts from afar. You search out my path and my lying down and are acquainted with all my ways."
Maybe you're reading this at 3 a.m. during a hospital shift.
Maybe you're in a place where openly practicing your faith is dangerous.
Maybe you're caring for a loved one and you feel invisible, forgotten, like no one sees how hard this is.
God sees you.
He knows exactly where you are right now, and He cares.
You're not just a statistic in some cosmic game.
You're His creation, made in His image, loved with an everlasting love.
That's the beauty of the One True God.
He's infinite, eternal, and all-powerful: but He's also near, personal, and present in your everyday life.
Why the Trinity Matters for You
You might be wondering: why does the Trinity even matter?
Here's why.
Because of the Trinity, you experience God in three powerful ways:
The Father loves you and calls you His child (1 John 3:1).
The Son saves you and offers you forgiveness, hope, and new life (John 3:16).
The Spirit empowers you and walks with you every single day (John 14:16–17).
You're not left to figure this out on your own.
You have a God who is with you, in you, and for you.
When you pray, you're talking to the Father.
When you trust in Jesus, you're leaning on the Son.
When you feel peace in chaos, that's the Spirit.
It's all God.
One God, working in your life in profound, personal ways.

This God Is for Everyone
One last thing.
The One True God isn't just for certain people in certain places at certain times.
He's for everyone.
For the night shift worker clocking in while the world sleeps.
For the caregiver sitting by a bedside, praying for strength.
For the person in a restricted nation, worshiping in secret.
For the spiritual seeker who's just starting to ask questions.
Wherever you are, whatever your story: God is reaching out to you.
He doesn't require you to clean up your life before you come to Him.
He meets you right where you are.
That's the heart of the One True God.
Unchanging. Personal. Present.
And fully, completely, passionately in love with you.
Let's Keep Going
Tomorrow we're diving into Day 3: The Deity of the Lord Jesus Christ.
