Let's begin.
The Story: Liam and the Lost Lamb

Liam woke before the sun did.
He always did. Being a shepherd meant early mornings and cold hillsides, but Liam loved it. He loved the way dew clung to the grass. He loved how the sky turned pink and orange, like someone had spilled watercolor paint across the clouds.
Most of all, he loved his sheep.
Especially one.
Her name was Clover. She was small and cream-colored with one black ear. She followed Liam everywhere, closer than the others, braver too. His father said Clover had a shepherd's heart.
"Stay close today," Father said that morning, adjusting his cloak. "There's mist coming down from the mountains. It'll be thick."
Liam nodded. He'd seen the mist before. It came in like a quiet blanket, turning the hills into shapes and shadows. Father always said the same thing when the mist rolled in:
"Keep your ears open. Trust the Shepherd's voice. He always leads you home."
Father wasn't just talking about himself. He was talking about the Great Shepherd, the one who watched over all of them, even when the path got hard to see.
By midday, the mist arrived.
It moved slow and silver, filling the valleys and wrapping around the hills. One moment Liam could see his whole flock. The next, he could only see three or four sheep at a time.
He counted them.
Twenty-two. Twenty-three. Twenty-four.
Wait.
He counted again.
Twenty-three.
His heart skipped.
"Clover?"
No answer. Just the soft bleating of the sheep nearby and the muffled quiet of the mist.
Liam's chest tightened. He spun in a circle, straining to see past the fog.
"Clover!"
Nothing.
Panic crept in, cold and fast. The hills looked different now. Every rock seemed unfamiliar. Every path looked the same.
What would Father do?
Liam closed his eyes and tried to remember.
"Trust the Shepherd's voice. He always leads you home."
But right now, Liam didn't hear anything except his own breathing.
He wanted to run. He wanted to search every hillside, every shadow. But Father had taught him better than that. Running without listening only made you more lost.
So Liam stood still.
He took a breath. Then another.
And he prayed.
"Great Shepherd," he whispered, "I can't see her. I can't hear her. But You can. Please help me find Clover. Help me hear Your voice."
For a moment, nothing changed.
Then,
A sound.
Faint. Soft. A bleat, high-pitched and scared.
Liam's heart leapt. "Clover!"
He moved toward the sound, slow and careful. The mist swirled around him, thick and damp. He couldn't see more than a few steps ahead, but he kept walking.
The bleating came again. Closer now.
"I'm coming, girl. Keep calling."
And she did.
Each bleat guided him forward: one step, then two, then ten. Liam's hands brushed against cold stone. He was near the old shepherd's wall, the one that ran along the edge of the valley.
Then he saw her.
Clover stood on a narrow ledge, her little hooves trembling. She must have wandered too close to the edge and gotten stuck. Her black ear twitched when she saw Liam, and she bleated again: this time with relief.
"I've got you," Liam said softly.
He knelt down and reached out. Clover stepped toward him, shaky but trusting. Liam scooped her up and held her close. Her wool was damp and cold, but she was safe.
"You're okay now," he whispered. "The Shepherd brought me to you."
As Liam turned to head back, the mist began to lift. Just a little at first: then more. The path home became clear again, and Liam could see his flock in the distance, grazing peacefully.
Father was there too, standing on the hill, watching.
When Liam reached him, Father smiled. "You found her."
"I listened," Liam said, holding Clover tight. "Like you taught me."
Father placed a hand on Liam's shoulder. "The Great Shepherd's voice never fails. Even in the mist, He leads us home."
Liam nodded. He looked down at Clover, safe in his arms, and felt something warm settle in his chest.
He wasn't just a shepherd.
He was also a sheep.
And the Great Shepherd was always watching over him too.
