Unlimited Access: The Strength of Single Moms - You Are Never Walking Alone

The house is finally quiet. The toys are mostly picked up, or at least kicked into a corner where they won’t trip anyone in the dark. You’ve just finished the dishes, looked at the bills, and checked the calendar for tomorrow. It’s a lot.

Being a single mom often feels like you are running a marathon while carrying the weight of the world on your shoulders. You are the provider, the nurturer, the disciplinarian, the chauffeur, and the late-night comforter. In the middle of the Memphis humidity or the late-shift grind, it is easy to feel like you are walking this path entirely alone.

But here is the truth we want to share with you today: You have Unlimited Access to a Father who never sleeps, a Protector who never fails, and a Savior who knows exactly what you’re going through.

Boundless Online Church is a ministry of FA Memphis. We help people meet Jesus and grow in faith online. We want you to know that while your household might feel like a solo operation, your spiritual life is anything but.

The "Just You" Myth

The enemy loves to whisper that it’s "just you." He wants you to believe that the success of your children, the safety of your home, and the state of your heart rest solely on your own limited strength.

That is a heavy burden that God never intended for you to carry.

In the Assemblies of God tradition, we believe in the absolute authority of the Word of God. And the Word tells us something beautiful about your specific situation. Psalm 68:5 calls God "a father to the fatherless, a defender of widows." In the biblical context, this refers to any woman standing alone to lead her household.

God isn't just watching you from a distance; He is actively stepping into the gap. He is the "Husband to the husbandless" (Isaiah 54:5). This doesn't mean you don't feel the physical absence of a partner, but it does mean you have access to a spiritual partnership that is unshakable.

The Memphis Scrub: Faith in the Real World

We talk about the "Memphis Scrub" because faith shouldn't be shiny and fake. It should be rugged enough to handle the 901 life, the traffic on Poplar, the stress of finding childcare, and the exhaustion of working multiple jobs to make ends meet.

If you’re a single mom in Memphis or anywhere else in the world, you know that life isn’t a Hallmark movie. It’s gritty. It’s real. And your faith needs to be real, too.

Unlimited Access means you don’t have to "clean up" for God. You can come to Him in your pajamas, covered in flour or baby formula, and say, "Lord, I am tired. I need You to lead this house today because I’m out of ideas."

That is where the power starts. When we admit our weakness, His strength is made perfect. This is one of our core beliefs: that the Holy Spirit is available to empower every believer for daily life. Not just for church on Sunday, but for Tuesday morning when the car won't start.

The Holy Spirit: Your Daily Co-Parent

One of the 16 Fundamental Truths we hold dear is the "Baptism in the Holy Spirit." While that might sound like a big theological term, it has a very practical application for a single mom.

The Holy Spirit is often called the "Comforter" or "Advocate." Think of Him as your co-parent.

  • When you don't know how to answer a difficult question from your teenager.

  • When you need discernment about who your kids are hanging out with online.

  • When you are at the end of your rope and need a peace that "transcends all understanding."

You have a direct line. You don't need a middleman. Through Jesus Christ, you have unlimited access to the wisdom of God. If you feel like you're losing the battle for your kids' hearts, remember that the Holy Spirit is the greatest teacher they could ever have.

Finding Rest in the Middle of the Hustle

We know you probably don't have time for a two-hour Bible study every morning. Between school drop-offs and work, your time is a precious commodity.

This is why we created resources like The Boundless Daily. These are designed for the person on the move. Whether you’re on a lunch break or waiting in the carpool line, you can plug into the Word.

God doesn’t demand hours of quiet meditation when your life is loud. He meets you in the noise. He wants to give you rest for your soul, even if your body is still moving.

Jesus said, "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest" (Matthew 11:28). This isn't just a nice sentiment. It’s a promise of salvation and daily sustainment. Salvation isn't just about where we go when we die; it's about the life we live today with Him.

You Are Building a Legacy

To the mom who feels like she is barely hanging on: You are doing a work of eternal significance. Every time you pray over your children, every time you choose patience over anger, and every time you lead them to the truth of Jesus, you are building a kingdom legacy.

You are not just a "single parent." You are a child of the Most High God, commissioned to raise the next generation of believers.

In the Assemblies of God, we believe in the "Blessed Hope", the return of Jesus. We live with the perspective that what we do now matters for eternity. Your investment in your children is not in vain. God sees the sacrifices no one else sees. He hears the prayers you whisper in the middle of the night.

Getting Plugged In

Isolation is the biggest threat to a single mom. Even if you can’t make it to a physical building every Sunday morning because of work schedules or childcare hurdles, you need a community.

Boundless Online Church exists for this very reason. We are a global family for people who need church to meet them where they are. You can find a village here. Whether it's through our Groups or checking out our Sunday Live Worship, you don't have to navigate this journey in a vacuum.

If you are in the Memphis area and looking for a way to connect more deeply, take a look at our plan for how to get plugged in fast. We would love to see you there.

A Prayer for Your Strength

If you’re reading this and feeling the weight of your responsibilities, we want to pray for you right now.

Father, we thank You for every mother reading this. We thank You for her strength, her resilience, and her heart for her family. Lord, we ask that You would remind her right now that she is never walking alone. Be her Provider. Be her Peace. Give her wisdom that surpasses her own understanding. Let her feel Your presence in the quiet moments and the chaotic ones. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Remember, the Gospel isn't just about a one-time decision; it's about a daily relationship. You have access to the King of Kings. He is your Defender. He is your Shield.

If things feel overwhelming, or if you just need someone to agree with you in prayer, we are here. Our community is built on the foundation that we are better together, even across digital lines.
