Christian Living | Why Everyone Is Talking About Spiritual Healing (And You Should Too) | A Biblical, Spirit-Empowered Path to Healing
Lately, I’ve noticed something that keeps coming up in conversations, prayer requests, and late-night searches: people are talking about healing. Not just physical recovery or medical check-ups—but spiritual healing.
But they aren’t just talking about physical therapy or medical check-ups. They are talking about spiritual healing.
I’ve noticed it in the prayer requests coming through our digital doors here at Boundless Online Church. People are searching for restoration—body, mind, and soul. And as we lean into this “Wednesday Wonder,” where we marvel at God’s miracles and the way He designed us to function, I want to point to something solid: what the Bible teaches about healing, and what the Assemblies of God affirms in the Statement of Fundamental Truths.
The Great Hunger for Wholeness
It makes sense that we’re seeing a surge in wellness and spiritual interest right now. Let’s be real: the last few years have been heavy. We’ve carried the weight of grief, stress, anxiety, and burnout. A lot of people are tired of being “fine.” They want to be whole.
However, as a follower of Christ, I believe we have to look closely at where we are seeking that wholeness. While the world offers many "metaphysical" options or "crystal" expos, there is a specific, promised power found in the Holy Spirit that goes beyond a temporary sense of calm. There is a difference between managing stress and being supernaturally restored by the Creator of the universe.

What is Divine Healing?
In the Assemblies of God tradition, we believe that Divine Healing is an integral part of the gospel. It’s not an “extra” or a “maybe.” The AG Statement of Fundamental Truths teaches that deliverance from sickness is provided for in the atonement and is the privilege of all believers (see the official Statement of Fundamental Truths: www.boundlessonlinechurch.org).
When we talk about divine healing, we’re talking about the promise and power of God to heal—sometimes instantly, sometimes through a process, always with compassion and wisdom. Isaiah 53:4–5 points us to the suffering Servant, and Matthew 8:16–17 connects that prophecy directly to Jesus’ healing ministry. God is the Great Physician. He designed the intricate systems of your body—the way your cells regenerate and your heart beats without you ever telling it to—and He also has the authority to intervene in ways medicine can’t explain.
I often think about the "wonder" of our design. Did you know that your body is constantly trying to heal itself? From the moment you get a papercut, a complex cascade of chemical signals begins to clot the blood and knit the skin back together. That is a miracle of creation! If God put that much "healing" into our physical biology, imagine the restoration He has waiting for our spirits and minds.
The Power of Holy Spirit Baptism
You might hear people talking about the "Holy Spirit," but I want to clarify what we mean when we talk about Holy Spirit Baptism. This isn't just about feeling a goosebump during a worship song, though those moments are beautiful.
Holy Spirit Baptism is an empowering experience that gives us the strength to live out our faith and the "boldness" to pray for the impossible. In Acts 2, we see the early church transformed. They went from hiding in a room to changing the world. For those of us seeking healing, the Holy Spirit is the Comforter and the Power-Bringer.
When we are filled with the Spirit, we aren't just operating on our own empty tanks. We are tapped into the same power that raised Christ from the dead. That is why everyone is talking about it: because once you experience that touch, you can't go back to "business as usual." You start to see people differently, you pray with more faith, and you begin to expect God to move in your own health and mental well-being.
Navigating the Wellness Search Safely
As we explore these themes of healing and restoration, it’s important to stay grounded. There is a lot of “spiritual” content online these days, and not all of it points you to Jesus—or to truth. If you’re like me, you’re probably spending more time on your phone or streaming something to unwind. I think it’s wise to be intentional about what you let into your home and your mind.
If you’re looking for family-safe media, use family-friendly filters to watch clean versions of movies and shows. And if you want help keeping your digital life accountable—especially when you’re searching deep topics like healing—consider using accountability tools that support wise boundaries. The goal isn’t shame; it’s freedom. Philippians 4:8 gives us a simple filter for our minds: what is true, honorable, just, pure, lovely, and commendable.

How to Seek Your Own Spiritual Healing Today
If you feel that tug on your heart, you don't have to wait for a big conference or a special event. You can begin the process of spiritual healing right now.
Acknowledge the Need: It’s okay to not be okay. God meets us in our honesty. Tell Him where it hurts: physically, emotionally, or spiritually.
Immerse Yourself in the Word: The Bible isn't just a history book; it’s "living and active." Read the accounts of Jesus healing the blind and the broken. Remind your soul what He is capable of.
Ask for the Spirit: If you haven't experienced the infilling of the Holy Spirit, simply ask. Luke 11:13 tells us that the Father loves to give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him.
Find Community: We weren't meant to heal in isolation. This is why we focus so much on connection here at Boundless. Whether it’s a local group or our online family, you need people who will stand in the gap with you.
Wednesday Wonder: The Miracle of You
Today, as we marvel at God’s creation, I want you to look in the mirror and see a miracle. You are a masterpiece of divine engineering. Every breath you take is a gift. Every beat of your heart is a testimony.
The reason “everyone is talking” about spiritual healing is that we’re waking up to something the Bible has said all along: we are more than bodies—we are eternal beings who need the touch of our Maker. Whether you’re dealing with a chronic illness, the weight of depression, or a sense of spiritual dryness, know this: the Holy Spirit is able to meet you right where you are.
Never forgotten, never alone, and deeply loved by God. That is the message of the Gospel, and that is the foundation of all true healing. Let’s stop just talking about it and start walking in it.
