Bible Study: How Do I Pray to Jesus for Forgiveness?

If you want to pray to Jesus for forgiveness, come honestly and simply. Tell Him you have sinned, ask Him to forgive you, and place your trust in His death and resurrection. You do not need perfect words. Jesus welcomes every heart that calls on Him in faith and wants to be made new.

Jesus invites you to come near, not hide in shame. "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness" (1 John 1:9). Forgiveness is not earned by performing better. It is received by grace through faith in Christ. "Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved" (Romans 10:13). If you are unsure what to say, start with honesty. Tell Jesus you need Him. Ask Him to help you understand His love, trust His mercy, and follow Him one step at a time. This is where new life begins.

Lord Jesus, I come to You with an open heart. I confess my sin and ask for Your forgiveness. Please help me understand Your love, receive Your grace, and trust You fully. Thank You for hearing me, saving me, and making me new. Amen.
