You experience God's divine healing today by approaching Him in faith and trusting in Christ's finished work on the cross, which provided for the healing of the body (AG Truth #12).
To experience divine healing, one must believe in Jesus Christ’s sacrificial work on the cross, which provides physical restoration as an integral part of the Gospel. By approaching God with faith, seeking prayer from the community, and aligning with biblical promises, believers can access God’s healing power. Divine healing remains a central tenet of the Christian faith, offering hope for physical, emotional, and spiritual wholeness today.
Bible Verses to Carry With You
Isaiah 53:4-5 (NIV) "Surely he took up our pain and bore our suffering, yet we considered him punished by God, stricken by him, and afflicted. But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was on him, and by his wounds we are healed."
James 5:14-15 (NIV) "Is anyone among you sick? Let them call the elders of the church to pray over them and anoint them with oil in the name of the Lord. And the prayer offered in faith will make the sick person well; the Lord will raise them up. If they have sinned, they will be forgiven."
Matthew 8:17 (NIV) "This was to fulfill what was spoken through the prophet Isaiah: 'He took up our infirmities and bore our diseases.'"
Psalm 103:2-3 (NIV) "Praise the Lord, my soul, and forget not all his benefits: who forgives all your sins and heals all your diseases."
Understanding the Gift of Healing
When we talk about healing, it’s easy to feel a mix of hope and hesitation. Maybe you’ve prayed before and felt like nothing happened. Or maybe you’re facing a diagnosis that feels like a giant standing in your way.
At Boundless Online Church, we believe that God is still in the business of doing the impossible. Healing isn't just a story from two thousand years ago; it is a current reality provided for us through Jesus Christ.
In the Assemblies of God, we recognize Divine Healing as one of the 16 Fundamental Truths (specifically Truth #12). This means we believe that deliverance from sickness is provided for in the atonement and is the privilege of all believers.
The Foundation: It’s Already Done
The most important thing to understand about divine healing is that it isn’t based on how "good" we are or how hard we can beg God. It is based on what Jesus already did on the cross.
When Jesus died, He didn't just deal with our sins: He dealt with the consequences of a fallen world, which includes sickness and disease. Isaiah 53 tells us that "by his wounds we are healed."
This means that when you approach God for healing, you aren’t asking Him to do something outside of His nature. You are asking Him to manifest the victory that Jesus already won.

How to Approach God in Faith
Faith is often the "missing ingredient" we worry about, but faith isn't a feeling. It's a choice to trust God’s Word more than our symptoms.
Believe Before You See: Biblical faith involves believing that you receive when you pray, rather than waiting for the pain to stop before you say "thank you." It is a relational trust.
Focus on the Healer, Not the Healing: Sometimes we get so focused on the miracle that we forget the Miracle Maker. When we lean into a relationship with Jesus, healing often flows as a natural byproduct of being in His presence.
Use Your Voice: Speak the promises of God over your life. Instead of only talking to God about your mountain, start talking to your mountain about your God.
If you’re struggling with the "why" behind your pain, you might find comfort in our post on Life’s Hardest Questions: Where is God When It Hurts?.
The Power of Community and Prayer
You don’t have to walk the path to healing alone. In fact, the Bible specifically instructs us to involve others. James 5 tells us to call for the elders of the church to pray and anoint the sick with oil.
There is something powerful about the "prayer of faith" offered in a community. Whether it's joining us for Sunday Live Worship or connecting with others who understand your struggle, being part of a spiritual family changes the atmosphere of your life.
For families in the Memphis area, we often see how Wednesday night family groups provide that essential support system where people can pray for one another's physical and emotional needs.

When Healing Takes Time
One of the hardest parts of seeking divine healing is the "waiting room." We live in a world of instant downloads, but God often works on a different timeline.
It’s important to remember that God heals in many ways:
Instant Miracles: Where symptoms vanish immediately.
Process Healing: Where recovery happens over time through prayer and sometimes medical wisdom (which God also provides!).
Ultimate Healing: The promise of a new body in the resurrection.
If you are currently a caregiver for someone who is sick, we know how draining that journey can be. We created the Caregiver's Compass specifically to help you find strength while you stand in the gap for your loved ones.
Is There Hope for You?
The answer is a resounding yes. Whether you are looking for physical restoration, emotional peace, or a spiritual breakthrough, God is reaching out to you.
If you want to dive deeper into what we believe as a movement and how you can belong to a community that stands on these truths, check out our guide on Assemblies of God Membership 101. We also have a great overview of how this worldwide movement began.
Memphis is a city that knows a thing or two about needing a breakthrough. We believe there is incredible hope for our community. You can read more about our heart for the city in Is There Hope for Memphis?.

A Prayer for Your Healing
Lord Jesus, I come to You today on behalf of the person reading these words. You are the Great Physician. You took our infirmities and bore our sicknesses so that we wouldn't have to carry them alone. I pray right now for Your divine healing touch to flow through their body, soul, and spirit. Strengthen their faith, give them peace that passes understanding, and let them feel Your presence near. We trust in Your finished work and Your perfect love. Amen.
